DEFINITELY not the championship team they were two years ago. Barely won by 1 point facing a lakers team w/o kobe

I think they'd still easily make top 8 in the West. Maybe not #1 but top 4 is def within a Kobeless Lakers.

Do I also get to arguably include San Antonio also? ![]()

Offensively though they seem like the 2k Lakers with Bynum and Gasol stepping up. I'd say they're better than SA for sure (too old), Utah (they beat them already without Kobe recently and soundly too), and Portland (they're aren't healthy). They're definitely top 4 with only Denver really causing issues.

I think it's a bit early to say that the Kobe-less Lakers squad can't win any close games with such a small sample size.

Back in 2k Kobe had the ball in his hands at the end of most every game, and they also had Shaq in his prime and Robert Horry who was really clutch. These Lakers have a soft Gasol, Bynum isn't a crunch time player, and there is no Robert Horry to save the day.

Who stepped up last year against the Magic? Fisher. Farmar stepped into his shoes pretty well for one game against the Rockets. Gasol dominated in overtime for one critical game. Ariza had a few clutch defensive sets. Random people step up for them in the playoffs, Kobe isn't the sole person. Also, Jamison 0-12....blocked 5 times and airballed 2 shots....rofl. And Collison is flirting with a quadruple double....with turnovers, Kemp would be proud.

To insinuate that he "manhandled" Howard is just stupid.

To insinuate that he "manhandled" Howard is just stupid. Dwight Howard got reduced to a taller Ben Wallace in the finals. FG% and turnovers matter... Game 1: 1 for 6, 10-16 ft, 2 turnovers. So 12 points in 16 possessions? Game 2: 5 for 10, 7-9 ft, 7 turnovers. 17 points in 21ish possessions? Game 3: 5 for 6, 11-16 ft, 1 turnover. 21 points in 15 possessions (guess which game orlando won, by the way) Game 4: 5 for 12, 6-14 ft, 7 turnovers. 16 points in 26 possessions. Game 5: 5 for 9, 1-3 ft, 3 turnovers. 11 points in 13 possessions. Meanwhile Pau had 5 turnovers the whole series, never shot under .500, Game 1: 7-12, 2-2, 2 turnovers. Game 2: 7-14, 10-11, 0 turnovers Game 3: 9-11, 5-6, 1 turnover Game 4: 7-14, 2-4, 1 turnover Game 5: 6-9, 2-4, 1 turnover I won't say it was Pau Gasol, but Dwight got manhandled games 2 and 4, and game 1 was pretty bad too. Definitely not what I expected.

Definitely not what I expected. You get two foul shots when you are hacked... so idk where these possessions numbers are coming from. Either way, the stats never tell the actual story in how valuable a player was to his team (hustle stats are lost, making a pass that leads to another pass (no ast), altered shots, drawing fouls, etc etc.)
