My left thumb is really REALLY numb. Is this normal? I'm hoping it is, since I've never really played fighters with a controller, hell, I haven't owned a console in 10 years.

Just try to play as relaxed as possible, stay conscious about it and you'll see playing becomes a lot more pleasant. What also happened for me was that I started rockclimbing around the same time as learning tech skill. Because of that my hands just got a lot stronger in general and would fatigue less easily.

using that i made the changes of not always trying to engage out of shield and instead wavedashing back more and also if im forced into the corner i would try to make it back to center stage rather than just trying to hit them it made SUCH a difference, i felt for the first time i could actually pressure my opponent with just movement when i was in the center and it forced them to occasionally throw out an aerial which i could punish i seriously think watching that episode has given me the biggest jump in actually thinking when im playing ive had
