But I'm also hoping someone can at least challenge him . This form aka playing below his average or maybe average at beast? Mango and Leffen played pretty shitty from what I saw. Hbox had it 3-1 vs Armada but choked it away. Westballz was close to taking all 3 games (not counting the one after power outtage) even though he firm step below Armada in skill. The only ones playing good from what I saw was Westballz, Hbox (until chokes) and maybe Axe. Mango is the only one I think that was underperforming. Armada was barely ever contested but when he was he adapted better than the opponent. Not much else to say. Leffen wasn't in bad form, he's just being Leffen and that's why he isn't 'amongst the Gods' yet. With the form his Fox and Peach are in I can't see anyone other than PPMD giving him a challenge at Evo. And probably Mango since people will be sleeping on him by then. Wat? Do people that make comments like this actually watch the games? G1 Armada vs Westballz was the only one where he clearly played better (before the power outage), if you paused g2 before he pulled a stitch I'd have probably put money on west winning, and I 100% would have put money on west winning g3. On the same token leffen was playing meh, mango was playing horribly.. It's fair to say he underperformed. I mean it's possible he did but who's to say the opponents he lost to just prepared better for him? There are too many factors that come into play to simply write it off as underperforming. Saying such a thing just takes away from the triumphant players who are putting in just as much work to earn these victories. "Prepared better" is pretty disingenuous when they themselves didn't play at there peak performance. Smash is a hard game lol, people are allowed to not be on fire 100% of the time. So, Armada only played better in one game but won the set? You say I didn't watch the tournament and come up with something like this? Also, what about Leffen vs Axe? It's like you're saying, "Axe couldn't have possibly played better than Leffen it was definitely just Leffen underperforming." It's bullshit, someone wins a tournament or pulls an upset and suddenly all these people start 'johning' for the loser. How is 'prepared better' anymore disingenuous than 'Player X just underperformed' which completely discredits the winners practice and preparation. Yeh when leffen repeatedly fails ledge dashing at a tournament I'm going to say he was underperforming, when Armada drops an edgeguard vs Westballz 3 times in a row I'm going to say he's underperforming. Ofc axe and westballz were playing well but come on man, the games they played we're not at the top of there performance. Also leffen dying twice in a row to fucking rollout of all things... Though you have to admit that was pretty funny.

I don't know why, but even though I'm a TSM fanboy through and through (less so now that OddOne, Chaox, Regi, and Xpecial have left the LoL roster) I love to see Leffen lose. I was a big fan of Idra, so it's not the fact that he's an asshole that bothers me. I'm not really sure what it is, but seeing him get bodied by Hbox put a huge grin on my face. I think that he's the first player in any eSport that I actively root against.

Yeah Armada's fox ditto punish game is waow
Also yeah I hope singles gets streamed for NWM

Leffen hasn't really been able to dent Armada's Fox for the past couple of months. Pretty scary stuff.
|
Its sort of sad that Leffens fox has been off since Beauty. Not only in tech but he keeps choking basic stuff.

good friend of mine got rekt at super nebs today lol
pool A16, so at least he got to get 4-stocked by a DK (greenranger)

I did pretty good at drommelan, lost to thomas and imperfect
Both lost sets could have been won, but in the end i got outplayed. 13th is ok (9th woulda been the best placing i could realistically get)
Glad that i proved my worth as a 1st seed by stealing misterllove's seed and then placing respectively in bracket

One of my friends works with this guy who claims to be immensely good at melee/PM. My friend mostly plays sm4sh, but knows that me and my brothers play melee, so he told his co-worker that he thinks we would give him a run for his money.
So my friend and his co-worker come over the other day and me and my brother spanked him. He plays (only) Falco and I 2, 3, and 4 stocked him in every game with 6-7 different characters. Feels good. Seems to have given him more motivation to get better though, so I think I have a new local smash friend to practice with which is great. Really cool guy actually, we've got a lot in common. yay smash.

TO'd my first "major" tournament on campus today with 20 participants. Were supposed to get ~26 but with finals, people bailed or were busy. I say major because my college is only about 2,500 people, so getting 20 people to pay for a tournament is an accomplishment.
It ran pretty smoothly, though we'll need more CRTs in the future (ran 3 CRT setups/3 LCDs; many of the players aren't good enough to feel the difference yet). I tied for 5th; could've played better but I ended up playing the eventual winner in loser semis, so tant pis.
Ran 4 groups of 5, with 4 making it through pools (lol). I mainly just wanted a 16 man bracket. I think my school (Franklin & Marshall) is getting at least 5-6 smashers next year-- from what I've seen-- so i'm excited for the opportunities next year might afford. Used this tournament to set up a campus power ranking for bragging rights, and i'm trying to set up a weekly next year, with a couple "majors" scattered throughout the semester(s).
Today was a good day + Show Spoiler +
