I don't really know too much about the doujin making process, but I imagine they make doujinshis because it's part of their hobby, not because they want to make much money out of it. There is also the chance they get noticed by a manga publishing company. I know the One Night Stand circle who makes the Advent Cirno series got his own manga published (I forget what it's called), but I don't know if he got the manga before or after he was drawing doujinshis tho | ||

as for getting noticed, I know that some anime companies are pretty lazy/bad about coming up with original source material, so they buy the rights to make an adaptation to some original manga or light novel... but unless it's too popular to ignore the people that get picked up are dependent on the company's situation - are they looking to make a quick buck off of some trashy h-game plot, or are they feeling gutsy enough to take a risk on something different, etc. as for drawing, I dunno how much you get paid, but I do know that the way things are structured in larger studios is much like how western comics are produced as well. so, ask stan lee's #17 assistant :D | ||

For us, a lot of hours go into research, packaging, and the big costs are either flying directly to Japan to attend Comiket (which is also physically taxing... I don't missing waking up 5 AM in the morning just so I can line up 3 hours just to get inside Comiket) or setting up some way to import stuff over, and pray it gets through customs.  It gets expensive, but comes with a lot of bonuses (like going to Japan.. or getting to flip through books before selling them.. ;D In the end, the doujinshis end up getting pretty expensive on this side of the planet, but it IS a business. People are free to fly over to Japan themselves to buy what they want if they don't want to buy from us | ||

right before going to sleep i check abab's page, hoping there is something uploaded that is NOT FROM KIRBY LOL (he has been adapting the stage themes from this kirby game, i was hoping he was not going to go through all of the stage themes cus he is only like 1/3 of the way through out of like 15 stages...) ANYWAYS I WAS GLAD TO SEE "TOUHOU" (only in japanese) in the name of the newest upload! Listening! Necrofantasia! I just finished! FUCK IM DISAPPOINTED. I was hoping he was gonna add up a section where he jazzes up the theme with that epic funky style he has! fuck! FUCK! I SAID FUCK!!!!!! Well it still is a good arrange as usual, but once again it will be much harder to play than other arrangements especially since the font of his sheet music is SO FRIGGIN SMALL LOL sheet music not uploaded yet, it seems from the shitty google translator it will be up in a week or within a week.
