To be honest, you'd have to either not speak English, or be a jealous member of one of TL's 'rival' community sites, to not have thoroughly enjoyed that article. But, then again, Google Translate is now an option, so, I guess that leaves only the latter..

Oh, and a minor typo. You describe mensrea as Waxangel's "parter" in crime.

Looking at some of those old battle reports brings back a lot of memories. I suppose most of the newer members of this site have little idea of what it was like back before our community had easy access to VODs of every game. Of course, at that time I actually lived in Korea and would sit and watch the games live on television, making copious notes about what happened in each game in order to provide an accurate picture of events and the ebbs and flows of the games and tournaments for the people here at TeamLiquid. To be honest, I look back with no little amazement at the amount of time each week that I invested in covering pro-gaming for TeamLiquid.net. Putting modesty aside for a moment, I am proud of what I did here. Unless my recollection is seriously defective, I think I was the first person to use images in news posts, among other things. Such things might seem relatively trivial now but they were significant leaps forward at the time and I can recall the considerable work I put in, taking fiddly screenshots directly from streams on the Ongamenet and MBC websites and then taxing my limited computing and graphical capabilities to get them onto this site and make everything look right. Of course, things are very different now. Easy access to VODs has made game reports pretty much obsolete, for example. The staff here have continually adapted and innovated to keep the site fresh and vibrant in light of technological developments and I do not think it is incorrect to say that TeamLiquid.net is better today than it has ever been.

To: Arbiter[frolix] Subject: Your reports.... Date: 6/20/04 16:21 are unbelievable. Maybe I missed a post but do you have experience in journalism? Anyways, I didn't want to ask this publically, but I just thought I would tell you that your reports are really dynamic. Keep up the good work. Mani
