Lee YoungHo (Flash): I want to be the youngest Royal Roader.
-You secured your place in the semis in less than 10 minutes. ▶I was very lucky. Truthfully I had prepared more for the 3rd match on MongHwan.
-You are the youngest player to reach the semis. ▶It seems that whatever I do, the title of "youngest" is always attached to me. I've reached the semis, so I will now do my best to be the younger player to reach the finals, and youngest champion.
-By saying that you had prepared more for the 3rd set (MongHwan), does that mean you had given up on the 2nd set (on Monty Hall)? ▶I don't like Monty Hall. So I had prepared a lot for only the 3rd set. I wanted to show viewers real mechanic management but my proxy barracks worked really well. It is used against protosses who go for double nexus. I also think I got very lucky.
-Recently your record is 14-2, showing great condition. ▶I think because I've practiced so diligently that I am having good results. And to add to that I've had good luck. It will need further verification, but in the remaining matches I will show even more.
-Team leader Park Jungsuk (Reach) was eliminated. ▶Jungsuk hyung wasn't lucky today. We share the same room, but he congratulated me on my advancement. He is a senior with a great heart.
-Between Jin YoungSoo (Hwasin) and Kim JoonYoung (GGplay) who would you rather go against. ▶I don't have an opponent I want to meet. During practice, my TvZ is really great. However on broadcasted matches my TvZs don't unfold so well. Up until now in broadcasted matches I think my mechanic is showing better results
-Your determination for the semifinals. ▶It is dependent on how I do. [Translator note: I think this is something like "I control my own destiny" or something to that extent.] I will do my best to be the youngest royal roader.
-You have a lot of popularity amongst the KTF female fans. ▶I'm really thankful for them watching me lovingly. I will repay them with good results.
----------------------------------------------------- My own comments: Flash is amazing. Sort of a slap in the face to Bisu though, lol. "Yeah, you lost to me on a map I didn't even really prepare for." Funny how Bisu is now 0-3 against Flash.
Also, I don't know why people say that he cheese "all the time". he's done it 3 times so far, 2x vs bisu and 1x vs luxury. luxury went 3hatchn before spawn, of course he's going to cheese. that cheese on hitchhiker has been done before on televised matches, bisu should have been aware of the possibility for that to happen. as for the one on monty hall, that quite brilliant with the refinery, but would have been easily preventable if bisu had just put a pylon near each mineral wall.
ok seriously, screw this kid. 90% of his wins have been cheeses and he's getting way too much credit. I want to see him play Bisu straightup and win. My fanboyism is playing a part in this, but seriously...this 15 year old kid thinks he's god and so does everyone else because he did a lame-ass strat. God i'm so angry. Sorry if this offends anyone but i had to speak my mind

ur completely right
remember what happened against the Emperor ?
these are the emperor's own words towards by.flash
"I heard that he is good but since I’ve never faced him, I played the game confidently. Players like Lee Young-Ho who have not played many official games are a burden to play because you don’t know what their pattern is. So I do not want to lose to young players or players who have just had their debut. Once you get behind in relative records, it has a negative effect on the life of the player in the future. It gives off a feeling like you are being robbed more so than losing to other players. Losing to Kang Min is better than losing to Lee Young-Ho (laughs)."
if u read and study wat he said u ll agree wit me and seraphim
As always, I think Boxer put's it perfectly. Nevertheless, a 14:2 record for a youngster is impressive, no matter what strategies you use to achieve it. I don't like his chances if he faces down Stork in a final though. I think the Birdtoss would enjoy the fresh meat /obviousproprotossbiasaside.
Either way that's just broken "iartehbisufan!" pride, so that's irrelevant. Well done with the Interview.
14:2 seems to be a godlike record but the way he puts it.. ugh. seems cocky, anyone agree with me? plus, i would like to see bisu figggggggghhhhhttttt. oh well. did savior get fucked up yet or?
Flash doesn't come of as arrogant at all..he seems really happy and appreciative to be there and even admits several times in this interview how lucky he is. What Boxer and Seraphim have said are completely different. Seraphim's is a illogical rant with absolutely nothing of significance. Boxer makes a good point, theres no reason to go all crazy over flash yet. He is promising but still has much to prove. Still though, it's always exciting having promising young talent to watch for. Also, everyone talks like killing the best protoss at the moment with 2 rax builds is so easy. Which is rediculous. Also it makes a lot of sense being a game up to focus on game 3...a much more balanced map, and to use cheese in game 2. I don't think it was a slap in the face to Bisu as he mentioned how lucky he got.
Someone please give one example of how he's being cocky? Also 90% of his wins have been cheese? Um ya ok...2 games out of 16 = 90% huh? If you don't like Flash thats fine, but don't make up bullshit to justify it

Correct. Flash is way overrated IMHO. Cheesing all the time doesn't make a gosu in my book, even when he's constantly lucky and it works so often. That's simply not what starleague games should be like. That's what happens on BattleNet all day. Yawn. I hate Flash, until he shows some good games, and has consistently good results (which only time can tell).
uh what? show me one reference where he thinks he's god. your rant got discredited because of this lie, interviews with him have showed that he's more humble than anything else, he made it clear he thought he was lucky

Seriously guys, don't take my rant seriously. I was just pissed off and steaming off my anger
But in all seriousness, cheesing twice is NOT how i want Bruce Lee Toss to fall
W/e guys, cheese or no cheese, god or no god, arrogant or not, he's in the OSL and he's playing SC pro which means he's obviously better then everybody here...so before you bash someone or rant about him, think about how you would react if you just got into the semi-finals at 15. -_-

No, the SaviOr fanboys will not shutup if Stork wins. "ZOmg savior beat stork & stork won MSL, savior = winnar!"
That being said, I am a complete SaviOr fanboy myself.

How is it the same point of view? LOL All seraphim did in his post was bash and talked about how he hated FlaSh. Boxer said he just didn't want to lose to him because he would feel worse than losing to a veteran. That is too totally different points of view and there is no relation at all between the two. Boxer isn't flaming other players he just doesn't want to lose to younger players.
Also FlaSh has only cheesed 2 matches now so I don't get this "he cheeses all the time" crap. If Bisu isn't smart enough to get around it the 2nd time then he needs to practice more obviously. The funniest thing is HwaSin did the same cheese tactic and he beat it before FlaSh used it on him. A lot of Terran users lately have been using a double barrack or proxy barrack strat in their TvP matches. Hell Shudder just did it to AnyTime in proleague this week. Time for these Protoss players to realize what the problem is and create the proper strat to deal with it. That is like saying I hate a Protoss players for using a Cannon rush strat and winning an early game over Zerg user, and saying it is cheese. Nal_rA did that to sAviOr and I don't hear any of you bitching about it. Proxy strats and rushes are becoming all to common for Terran players now so players need to notice that and be able to adapt in situations like this.
I hate cheese just as much as the next person, but some of the comments are way out of line and are based mostly on a fan's hype over Bisu. I am not a big fan of FlaSh or Terran users for that matter, but you won't see me making an idiot out of myself because my favorite player lost. (Which my favorite player has lost both in the round of 8 for MSL and OSL ) I am a Protoss player myself, and I for one can say I am not mad at FlaSh for his win. I am impressed his little mind could have thought of a mineral swap to break that wall. That is the last thing I would have thought about. FlaSh is showing promise, but I don't think everyone should jump on the "FlaSh is great" bandwagon yet. He really has a hard road ahead with semifinals and finals. If he can do good at that then you people can call him a prodigy or whatever. LOL
The fact that he is so modest about his wins and that he thinks most of his wins are lucky should be enough to keep people's mouths shut, but I guess you are always going to have a flamer or fan that can't handle it when their player loses. -_-*

While I agree with most of your post ... wasn't stork knocked out of the MSL by Savior, not the OSL? I thought he was still in the OSL without any wildcard/allowances whatsoever.
As for the cheese itself, marine play versus protoss on monty hall ... doubt anyone would have expected that, even if they practice plenty. Flash hasn't exactly got weak macro (well, from what I've seen), so I don't see any glowing neon sign for Bisu that would have implied "he will want to end this early with a cheese rush on Monty hall!"

Marine play is understandable because no Terran has used it on Monty yet, but if you don't expect cheesing proxy on monty you are dumb. There have been god knows how many Terrans that have used proxy facs or something outside the enemies main in several games now. You should expect the same proxy build in a PvP for early zeal harrass or robo from quick reaver harrasses/drops. The only thing that was any different in the proxy build FlaSh used was he took the middle route instead of sticking to the sides, he used marines instead of vultures, and he used a very smart mineral swap strat to break Bisu's wall. It is a more clever proxy cheese strat than most, but still doesn't deviate that much from proxy strats that haven't already been used or attempted on monty. :/
If Bisu hadn't scouted so late on his main he would have noticed it sooner and hoped a probe up mid route. He didn't hop into FlaSh's main till FlaSh had broke through the mineral wall on his main. Ironic how he already had 2 proxy barracks before Bisu even managed to scout the left and right routes. Earlier scouting could have given Bisu the advantage he needed to win the game easily so why he didn't opt to do that like most Protoss players on monty who try to proxy harrass is beyond me. His passive play and lack of scouting is what lost him the game.
EDIT: Also don't say Protoss players don't proxy harrass and scout early on monty because one example I can list off the top of my head is Pusan VS Rainbow Ace match a few weeks back can disprove that easily. Also StOrk proxy robo middle route on monty has been done too. -_-;;

How much more consistent do you want him to get? What's the difference between battlenet and Starleague?
Because you mention it, the commentators also talked about bnet vs televised games. Some progamers get nervous and make simple mistakes that they would not make on private games in bnet. So, progamers often show better quality games on battlenet than they would on TV.
He has won some marathon games, yet all you can think about are the few cheeses that he has made.

i never understood the logic of "he's better so let's just shut up and not say anything" because then there would be no bw discussion on tl forums.
I don't think his comment about practice or the map was a slap in the face to Bisu. It was rather the opposite. He was acknowledging that he went all in on the map because he didn't think he could beat Bisu straight up and got lucky that Bisu used a vulnerable build order. I respect him for being up front about that rather than saying garbage about how much he practiced and perfected the strategy, etc. It always bugs me when a player is all shook and cheeses because he's scared, then pretends it was all good planning.

i thought about that too, but i thought that flash would still live at home considering the age gap between him and the other players and the fact that he still attends school. but thinking about it again, you're probably right.
stop saying he's being cocky, he stated so many times he got really lucky (which is true of course for anyone that saw the game. 1 pylon close to minerals could have meant bisu blocking the attack easily and eventually winning the game without trouble). I'm not a Reach fan, but since I read that Reach said he thinks Flash is a really great player, I take great value to this word and believe flash is going to be really big in the future. Up till now this seems to be happening, so early even. He seems really humble to me with this translation, so don't let your bisu-fanboyism lead to wrong results about this kid. Future will tell more, it's really early now.
I also totally root for him to win the whole thing. FLASH VS STORK FOR THE FINAL GO!! ^^
Momentous achievement for Flash, well done. Although im a little cheesed (get it?) that bisu lost, all the luck to him. Wait... So Savior is out of the OSL?
Go Flash, show them what you're made of ! Show young players that in the game which is 10years old, where are lots of experienced players, impossible is nothing !

I think waiting room is right because when flash won he walked into the waiting room and Reach was there to congratulate him (though it looked more like he was giving him advice or something).
Dont get why people claim Flash is cocky... he seems humble if anything... even conceding that he was indeed lucky against bisu. I think he definately has a bright future. I wont be surprised if he becomes the next savior/boxer-type dominating player, when he gets a little more experience under his belt.

I haven't seen many games of him yet (4 or 5), but what I have seen was either "bad" or unspectacular. And by consistent I mean he has to be good for ~1 year or so. 16 games with 14 wins isn't exactly enough for me to call him one of the elite. The win ratio is of course excellent but only 16 games... In 2006 I haven't heard of him at all. And yes, pro gamers can execute cheeses usually better/faster, but it's still lame/boring for viewers like me. Maybe my opinion of Flash changes as I see more games, but for now, it is like that. I think he just had too much luck. Can't respect him yet. The current "hype" around him only adds to that.

It's not an important thing, but I'll tell you what i know. All progamers lives together. There is no exception. If one lives out of dorm, that means he has some troubles in team. Or... If 2 teammates should match in semi or final like FBH and stork they practice in other places and leave dorm temporarily.
Though Flash is just a middle school student, he also live in dorm and he goes to school there. As you know, the progamers sleep, eat, and play games together, they are something like a family. So age difference is not a big problem.
Well, Flash's comment is that because he(Reach) is my roommate, he will congratulate me more. (even though he is eliminated)
See this ^^; Title is "roommates advanced to final 8 together"
Its pretty sad that you all rip on flash so much for winning.
Bisu beat savior with 1 build that he practiced alot, hmmmm sounds like savior. He still plays the same!
Flash comes in, reads Bisu's style like a book game1, takes it 2-0.
Btw note that bisu was also "cheesing" on monty hall, that was luck of the draw for flash, and luck plays a BIG part in bw on a map like monty hall (look at bisu's little controversial move, taking a map and winning 3-2).
Nobody ripped on Pusan for doing "cheesey" play all 3 games vs midas in their OSL quarterfinal, why? because he lost a map out of luck. So why should flash take such heat because the luck was on his side.
Also the fact that bisu didnt do a double nexus build shows how flash rattled him, and bisu needed to cheese cause flash is probably the most dangerous terran bisu has faced this year.
#1: There is no 'cheese' in Starcraft. If you get 'cheesed', you probably didn't scout well and made risky decisions. We aren't talking about some "10 minutes no rush" - rules here, this is real Broodwar from the first second.
#2: Short games aren't boring. Boxer's first SCV-rush against Yellow ('cheese' again?) was anything but boring, it was thrilling. Bisu's perfect DC/Corsair build order vs. Savior? Oh, come on.
#3: There will always be fanboys or -girls. Talking down a player because he won against your favorite is childish.
So far, By.Flash has presented some great results. I'm looking forward to see more matches of him, I think he's fun to watch.
monty hall is certainly infinately scoutable for a protoss. And the irony is that bisu always scouts early.
In game 1 he SAW two scv's blocking the ramp but expanded anyway. In game 2 he was "cheesing" (proxy pylon --> robo bay etc) so didn't feel he needed to scout early as much since he wasn't expanding anyway, unfortunately for him, flash's cheese strategy was superior. As has been pointed out a single pylon at each min line woulda detected anyone trying to break through and he coulda stopped it easily. Also he had a probe there after flash broke through initially that didn't die, why didn't he build a pyon to block re-enforcements?
I enjoy "cheese" when it's done well. I guess it's an unfair label but in of itself it doesn't mean anything to me. It's all about how you execute it and who against. The fact that flash went for it in such big games vs such a good player and triumphed says a lot about him.
Bisu messed up both times, and paid the price for it, he can blame no one but himself.
I wasn't talking specifically about the Bisu vs Flash game and was in no way saying that Bisu has anyone else than himself to blame or anything like it.
My point, however, still stands. Not everything is scoutable within reasonable conditions, especially on Monty Hall. Hopping a worker on all three lanes to scout the multitude of possible positions each of the lanes has to hide buildings cannot be considered reasonable.
And the claim that he should have built pylons at all three mineral entrances to see if anything is happening there is complete nonsense, because by the time Flash finished mining the mineral block away Bisu's build required only two pylons and of those two one was proxied near Flash's base. Please think...

good point, monty hall is lame though
And ya gorush losing to bisu on monty hall because of cannon rush against which he could do nothing is definately something that can be counted as a clear example of "bad cheese" but I think again that's the map's fault more than anything else.
I guess we can say that cheese is fine on balanced maps but sucks on monty hall, but it goes and comes around as it happened to bisu, he cheesed gorush and got cheesed by flash.
I enjoy watching cheese games rather than the same old boring played out look here i come with the same thing every time games. You see a person's true spirit when they are faced with something totally unnexpected.

WTF? What does Bisu's loss show anything about his character or spirit?
I like cheeses, too, but seeing Bisu losing twice to cheeses is just depressing -_-
