This guy beat both Ryung and Classic! Damn, I hope it's not just hype and for him to lose in the Ro16. I can't believe foreign Zergs are rekting Koreans. Hopefully Neeb does it too.

Put me in, have been waiting for this kid to blow up since he joined mYi all that time ago. Hes a stud.

Reynor's also going to WCS Valencia. He's in a group with 2 more Zergs and 1 Toss. Only threat for him is Nerchio so he can advance to Group Stage #2. He's gonna need to win all of his group stage battles to advance to the Ro16 Playoffs. He can do it.
|
There's some absolute titans in the first two group stages this time around. By group stage three, things are going to be intense.
Neeb, Lambo, Masa, Showtime and Nerchio are all players one would expect to have made it through the qualifiers but are duking it out in the Open Bracket.
I'm hoping Reynor doesn't run into any of those five until later, it'll be more epic when he crushes them that way
|
Sing me the f**k in, i am gonna root for this kid and copy his BO´s from now on.

And Elazer, and Harstem and Uthermal and Stephano and Heromarine
Im feeling the 16 coming out of group stage 2 will be stronger then the 16 already qualified
|
Reynor advances to group stage #2 after beating Nerchio in winners' match 2-1. Even his ZvZ is good, able to hold off Nerchio's ling-bane push and later on, his roach push. Damn, this kid is amazing.
If he can win 2 more group stages, he can advance to the Playoff Bracket.
|
It's so exiting to see how far he can go.

Reynor 2-0 Masa. Was it streamed??

the tournament or this game vs showtime?
cuz if its the tournament there is a dominant player who is even more dominant at zvz

Playing vs Special tomorrow. Should be a great match.

Toughest bracket possible for Reynor really, I've not seen his ZvZ hopefully we will see it vs Serral in the ro8.

Please do man, I would LOVE to listen to a Vasacast again!
Also, talk about a trial by fire for Reynor! Taking down Europe's best Protoss, and quite arguably the 4th best player in WCS behind Serral, Neeb, and Special, and now taking on Special! Gonna be a great match!
|
Go reynor !! hope he wins tomorrow, though its goning to be hard
|
12:00 CEST: Serral vs Reynor at WCS Valencia, don't miss it!
|
Get me on this hype train
|
Good job making it to the quarterfinals, Reynor. Serral's too strong! First time in the WCS but he already went deep.
|
|
You could tell he was on Serral's level mechanically, he just doesn't have the experience yet. Serral was able to prepare and strategize in ways Reynor couldn't handle.
With a little more time I think Reynor will surpass him, as long as he works hard.

With a little more time I think Reynor will surpass him, as long as he works hard. I think he has been unlucky with the bracket draw. If he was on the other half he could have made it to the top4 easly, if you think that he had already beat Nerchio and ShoWTimE at the same tournament during the group stage. He will show his full potential very soon.

The bracket draw only depends on WCS points. As a newbie he was gonna meet Serral in Ro8 for sure. He has better chance in Montreal.
I don't get it why Reynor can't play wcs tourney earlier this year, while Clem was already on the stage. Clem is even younger.
edit: all right, I thought clem was born in August. my bad

Clem is born in april and Reynor is born in july, so Clem is older
|
Reynor has already 600 points (630 at least if we count the challenger). Its more then Stephano, Drogo, Namshar, Clem, Soul and many others that get to the challenger. So even though he is likely to get into a group with Serral (among those who qualified through the ladder he has the least points) he'll get fine players as the 2 others in his group. And if he advances he won't meet Serral in the RO8, which will be the qualification match for Montreal.
|
I fear he might have to play his Challenger matches from Korea tho
|
Most likely, may depend on which groups will he get (in the challenger and in GSL). It will also be about what he cares more of. If he cares more about GSL he will be there training and having only the ability to play the challenger from KR. If he cares about increasing by a bit his chances of getting into the WCS finals then if he gets the right groups he can play it from EU and be in KR only for his GSL group.
I hope he chooses GSL, as the challenger won't be that much of a difference when it comes to his chances in getting to the WCS finals. He'll have to win Montreal, and if he gets some points from the challenger there is a scenario where being the finalist in Montreal can be enough, but its not up to him as he will need a lot of stuff to come together so that it will be enough, and if he will be in the Montreal finals I think he should aim to win it, and not stop there.

Groups are made! As you can see, our little hero will face Maru, Impact and Neeb for a spot in the Ro8.
|
Or maybe he will only face Impact and Maru 8)
|
Good games tonight even though they didn't ultimately go the way we'd like. I'm just gonna call it right now though, Reynor is winning GSL 2019. This kid is SO GOOD at only 16 years old, the non-Serral WCS players are lucky he wasn't allowed to compete the first half of this year.

Doesn't he also has to play in the TaKe's Penthouse Party 4 Tournament today? Will he play from Milan?

Damn no Reynor in the WCS finals just feels wrong. He got to 9th, one series win away from qualifying , but played only 2 tournaments that give WCS points (not counting challenger).
I bet if you make a ranking of points won per points possible of wining, Reynor is only behind Serral, and he probably would have qualified for blizzcon if in wcs valencia he faced any of the 6 not named Serral in the quarterfinals (maybe not Has who was on fire). Or if sc2 used something called double elimination on tournaments...
Anyway that was a hell of a series against Serral. Exciting times for sc2, lets hope wcs finals lives up to the hype (Maru vs Serral, and $O$ hype) and 2019 wcs comes quickly.
|
|
Reynor reached top 10 on the Aligulac rankings. Let's see if he will go up from there.
I know many players say this does not mean a lot but I think Aligulac pretty accurately predicted Serral and Reynor performances last year.

"Coaching" :D
Mostly was suggesting to quit and laughing at Vasa's engagements XD
In the first game at least.
Second game was interesting though.
Edit: Oh I think I missed the first games, just watched the last 2.

Reynor leaves Exeed Esports, here's the announcement on Twitter:
|
This guy's on a roll! He even beat Innovation in HSC 2-1. He's 5-0 so far.

Reynor with a strong start

I'm telling you boys, 2018 was Serral's year, 2019 will be Reynor's. The dude is just TOO friggen good!

Sure, he just got a map. But to even get here, he went through Serral. Really impressed, not only how far he got, but also how good he plays.
