I voted for Zest and Showtime. Judging by the battlenet threads Zest will likely win that vote. I just want to see him play. Only issue I suppose is that he could be embarrassed like when he lost to an unknown Polish Zerg in nation wars.

Zest isn't one of them, i hope we can agree on that part. I look at this tournament as one of the only foreign vs korean tournaments there are right now, the prizepool is pretty big and these two factors together are enough for me to say that at least i take it rather seriously.

The most controversial aspect of this tournament is that Innovation and TY got invited but Gumiho needs to get the votes. Would be odd that the reigning GSL champ would not make it in and I doubt he will since Maru and Byun are more popular Terrans. Somebody said they don't want Zest representing Korea. Who cares? You mean Korea might lose the team aspect of this? Who gives a crap! What about the tournament Zest won in Toronto? Stats was not there. Prize money comes from advertising. People are not willing to watch unpopular players.

In my opinion sOs, ByuN, and Zest do not deserve the entry as much as other players.

Yeah and even then he looked shaky against them. For whatever reason even when he is practicing a lot he can't translate some of the online success to offline. Honestly I can't remember the last time he didn't look shaky offline. On another note though Zest played like 40+ games today on stream for 9 hours. Good to see that he's still trying at least.

People are not willing to watch unpopular players. Inno and TY got in because they are in the top 4 and Gumiho did not because he is not. There's nothing controversial about that because the invites were issued fairly and consistently. It's not like Blizzard invited random players with random ranks. There will always be that one player who is ranked 5th with a top 4 cutoff, or 9th with a top 8 cutoff as will be the case for Blizzcon. Gumiho just drew the short straw this time, simple as that. The commonly expressed argument that Gumiho as the most recent GSL champion should be in an event titled "GSL vs the World" is just pedantic semantics. I don't see anyone objecting to the ~190 countries without a spot on Team World. GSL vs the World is just a name. What's in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

People tend to make a big deal out of some hotshot player. I'm sure GuMiho is fine if he doesn't get selected. He just won a ton of money. I don't expect him to be popular-vote Terran (most likely ByuN because of his cute dog or whatever). He may make it as the invited player though given he just won GSL recently his name is still in the air so he may get quite a few second-place votes. Zest, on the other hand, as popular as he is, I hope people won't vote for him. It is kind of wrong saying it here but his form is just too shaky at the moment. I feel if he ends up going to the event, he may get rek big time by some foreigner. It only hurts his mentality even more.

He might get rekt by the top koreans but he will still beat foreigners with his current skill-level. People are just salty that he is not a god, that's it. Edit: I quoted Rolltide's cuz he said he voted for Showtime, I'm just using his vote to give an opinion, nothing against him, and to be honest my post has nothing to do with his. I voted for Showtime too (and Dear) just saying.

When you only have 8 spots you can't conceivably have every country in the world in there. That's objectively not possible. So you choose representatives. But when you only have 8 spots, you can conceivably have every GSL finalist of the year in there. That's objectively possible. Though it's true that this wouldn't come up if the event was called Korea vs The World instead of GSL vs The World, missing out on GuMiho is still the worst outcome either way because he's the best and most entertaining player in the Terran poll.

I don't think you can call anyone the most entertaining player. Everyone likes different things. Some people probably even like reaper stuff. Unless you're talking about Has. Has is the most entertaining player.
