Honestly, I'm very disappointed with herO. As amazing as his micro/macro is, he chooses to play short games AKA all-in and proxy instead of going for a more stable style. People already know he will be cheesy or proxy, they just hard-counter him by playing safe, scout early or proxy cloaked units. I wonder sometimes if he actually thinks in order to win 100K at IEM and 2 BlizzCon, he has to be cheesy like sOs.

It might work once vs TY (frankly it was more like TY falling apart) but it didn't happen vs Stats who is just too solid. Honestly, I'm very disappointed with herO. He lost so many probes to baneling drops and other random harass that was just unacceptable for his caliber of play. It's just that he somehow managed to find himself in the finals where he got crushed by Rogue (who was in perfect form). I absolutely expected this to happen in this tournament.

I was hoping he wouldn't do some random cheesy/aggression and played macro vs Stats. Then, the series might have been a bit closer. I feel the final appearance at IEM may give herO wrong impression that he is doing well but clearly it is not the case. herO is very stubborn with his style. He doesn't really learn from his mistakes and improves his weakness (his defense as it has been horrendous). The amount of probes he lost to banes/lings drops or WM drops is ridiculous. He basically lost every game vs proxy cloaked banshees. If he chooses to play like Has/MyuNgSiK, he will never win any big tournaments ever again. It is not like he can spam adepts and win like he did back in Super Tournament.

On the other side, herO usually did well in tournament has only single elimination bracket, so I think he will be ok. Well, I hope he even makes it to the ST 2 and BlizzCon to play single elimination stage. I'm really sad that when it matters the most (AKA now) to collect WCS points and consolidate his Top 8 ranking, he just performed poorly. I hope he will get himself together for the last tournament before BlizzCon.

Because other than Buyn, the most dangerous competitors are trio: Solar/Rogue/ sOs: These players has 1300, 1625 and 2125 points lesser respectively compared to herO. They are in the same bracket in GSL. One more round winning in GSL mean they will shorten the distance 700 points. herO need to save himself.

I'm really disappointed that he didn't do well towards the end of the year when he knows he needs to in order to secure his spot at BlizzCon. This whole thing may turn into the same situation last year at KeSPA Cup which he needed to win it all to get to BlizzCon. This is not as bad as last year but I think he will need to make it at least to Top 4 and hope that the rest of his competitors (Dark, ByuN, Classic, Solar, Rogue, sOs and even Dear) don't do so well. Basically wanting the Top 4 to be like TY, GuMiho, soO and Innovation or those who already secure the spots at BlizzCon.

I hate to be in the situation of herO right now: when you have to put yourself that you need to achieve top 2/ top 4/ top 8 and other players don't do well, you will likely cannot concentrate and always distracted. I hate when player fall into that trap, they will have a pressure on their back. He should have better consistent results to avoid this situation.

In the end of the day, it is up to herO to secure his spot. A solid performance at ST2 is needed.

He abused his race in the short imbalance era and got those 2 tournament wins. Aside from that, he did nothing whole year and he played really bad and inconsistently overall. I want to see the top players at Blizzcon and lets face it herO is not one of them at the moment

I want to see the top players at Blizzcon and lets face it herO is not one of them at the moment herO get 2 tournament wins and 1 tournament runner - up. To me, that's fine enough compared to other players in top 10 - 15. I don't know what's your definition of "consistent results", but to me a player is considered "consistent based on 2 numbers: " 1, Number of top 4 they achieved through out the year (I only count the tournament which is considered "premier" by Liquidpedia standard). There are 12 "premier" events happened for Korean players. The result for current top 15 WCS Korea standing is: - 7/12: Stats - 4/12: herO/TY - 3/12: Byul/Classic/Innovation/soO - 2/12: Dark/Solar/aLive/sOs/Maru/Byun - 1/12: Gumiho/Rogue 2, Number of the events which they get WCS points. There are 9 events which Korean players can get WCS points which happened since last Blizzcon. The result for current top 15 WCS Korea standing is: - 8/9: Stats/ Innovations/Solar/ - 7/9: herO/Byun - 6/9: TY/Gumiho/Dark/Maru - 5: soO/aLive/Classic/Byul - 4/9: Rogue - 3/9: sOs If you look at these 2 numbers, herO actually did fine and above the pack.

I want to see the top players at Blizzcon and lets face it herO is not one of them at the moment I do agree with you on herO's inconsistency and his overly-aggressive style. In fact, it is his downfall to be that way. However, the whole abusing style I don't agree. sOs and Classic are just as "abusive" as it gets when it comes to Protoss. Also, it is NOT his fault when it comes to balance issues. He is a progamer and it is his job to win. How he wins it, it is matter of his choices. You may like it or not, it is your taste. herO's macro games are actually quite impressive. Frankly, when he played macro + his micro skill, he tends to win convincingly. However, for some reason, he chooses not to play macro very often. In Bo5, he went super cheesy and aggressive in first 2 games and lost, then he tried to play macro to come back but it was too late. It becomes a pattern of his play. He even said in GSL interview, he is often overconfident and eager to win and that is why he makes poor decisions and lost. He knows his weaknesses but unfortunately it doesn't seem he is working to fix them.
