Its such a shame TY ain't in it, considering he almost got a free seed which went to Zest I don't think bio is substantially weaker. Hopefully WCS Korea will have more tournaments. They buffed everything that counters bio while leaving bio with the same stats, I'd say there's a difference there. Although it is mostly TvZ where the issues lie. Even in TvT tanks are so much stronger now, I don't think ByuN had any experience in pre LoTV tank fights (aka without tankivacs and weaker tanks). Of course he has, he played Terran for most of Wings (started as Protoss) and he was round for parts of HotS.
I phrased that badly, I meant along the lines of he didn't have any successful expirience pre-LoTV. I don't remember him winning anything in WoL to be honest (although I wasn't following the scene super hard back then so I can't say anything). And in HoTS I remember him being around in proleague for a little but never anything significant came out of him.
Dunno it's just I can see guys like Innovation and Maru returning to their previous power more than ByuN can maintain is. So far we've only seen him win games with marines and sometimes tankivacs but know knows.

So far we've only seen him win games with marines and sometimes tankivacs but know knows. He got 2 top 4s in GSL in Wings and he was one of Prime's top players in GSTL back in the day. Also, although many people like to claim ByuN only started playing again in LotV, he was already farming his way through online cups in early 2015 HotS where he regularly played pretty good Terrans (e.g. GuMiho). He knows how to use tanks, that's for sure.
The question is A) can he keep his form and B) how long will everyone take to adjust to the changes from the patch? I reckon for now ByuN can still pretty easily farm wins with the exact same builds he used before the patch. I also expect Maru and Inno to do better than in the first year of LotV (and with Inno we're already seeing it), but I don't really expect TY and ByuN to fall off as long as they keep up with their practice and such. Even the fact that TY got 2-0'd by Maru today doesn't do justice to how the games went at all (TY actually should have won game 1 IMO and could have won game 2).
At least in TvT TY should still be pretty far up in the food chain. I'm not sure how much TvZ and TvP will change though. I also don't think JJAKJI is suddenly doing really well just because of the patch changes, he's playing way better across the board but that includes things you'd already do pre-patch.

can't believe everyone from KT qualified except TY...

Doesn't seem to be struggling

TY is looking shaky but I hope he can adapt. I do believe all the pros besides the blizzcon guys have been playing the new patch for months now anyway maybe TY was just on the old patch up until WESG/HSC had finished.
Maru and Inno already looking way better as well. And ByuN looking on fire with that MMR haha. 16 marine stim drop should still a viable opener (I can win games against dia player with it, don't know about GM). Was the last game jjakji played that throw vs sOs in the SPL finals? Barely even seen him all year so I can't comment on him.

Absolutely amazing game vs Solar, hilariously terrible game vs TRUE is basically the summary of TY's Shoutcraft debut.
|
It looks like TY will be streaming SC2 on Afreeca on the 17th starting at 8 pm KST!
(the other players mentioned are herO tomorrow and Classic on the 21st)
|
Should be really cool to see his first person perspective! He also seems to be a fan favorite so that's good as well
|
Yeah his first person view has to be spectacular.
|
I'd been waiting for this day! TY's first-person perspective, I'm so hyped. Only wish that he'd stream on Twitch simultaneously so us foreign fans can jabber in English in chat. Does this notice by Afreeca signal that the players have some kind of exclusive arrangement with them?
|
Who knows, someone in the announcement thread linked this Twitch page that curiously has the same name going as the Afreeca stream.
|
If he only streams on afreeca there is the potential to open a "TY stream thread", on the bw forums this is common. Not exactly the same but still a decent alternative if you wanna talk about the games he plays on stream.
|
How do we open this "TY stream thread"? Here in the TL forums?

I think it is fine, if he gets a youtube or starts streaming on twitch as well you can add that i guess

Quoting myself from the stream thread:
You can check these accounts to see what builds he uses and how he's doing on ladder. Don't try to go annoy him in-game though, that'd be rude. (Also the high MMR might be shared with someone else but if it is I have no idea who)
He streamed for over 7 hours today, including a bo3 showmatch against Classic (who streamed for the first time). Pretty good. (Classic won 2-1 while TY won their ladder game earlier so they went 2-2 against each other in total)

Probably.
Also I have come to the conclusion that the high MMR account is probably not shared with any other Terran atm, I can't seem to find a high level Terran who matches. So yeah TY randomly has an account where he does much better and has 200 MMR more than on his streaming account.

Makes sense. If I was him I'd want a barcode account for specific practice and then a stream for people to look at.
