Also I have come to the conclusion that the high MMR account is probably not shared with any other Terran atm, I can't seem to find a high level Terran who matches. So yeah TY randomly has an account where he does much better and has 200 MMR more than on his streaming account. Makes sense. If I was him I'd want a barcode account for specific practice and then a stream for people to look at. I just found it unlikely he would stream for 7 hours until pretty late at night and then after ending his stream he goes to play even more.
Plus jjakji played a game against the high MMR account and watched the replay afterwards and the hotkeys the Terran used were ever so slightly different from what TY uses on stream so I wasn't sure. But there aren't many Terrans who can get near the top of the ladder who average 310+ APM and TY's builds are pretty unique and recognizable so I came to the conclusion it's him playing extra games after the stream.
He probably never meant to log into that account on stream anyway.

The high MMR account left league. I guess with the GSL qualifiers coming up so soon you need to have a place where you can practice without everyone being able to check out your builds

2-1'd by Hush in Code S qualifiers. Depression sinks in.

still has chance to qualify

Yeah but he lost to Hush.

What is his next chance to qualify? How does it work?

In his interview after qualifying he basically says he didn't get much sleep, his condition today was really poor and every game felt really hard.

TY looks like he's getting back in good form, he's rank 2 in Korean GM (behind Maru) now (although the last few times he got his account to GM he left league after a few minutes). I saw him play Leenock earlier. Good sign for WESG next week.

Good to hear. I really hope he can win something soon, poor guy never has any luck.
I just saw Stats beat Maru who had a little over 7k MMR, not surprised the dude is first.

But he somehow can't beat Stats for shit.

Where/how did you see him play Leenock? Is he streaming?

I hope TY can win it all (WESG), hoping for a TY vs Maru final

So WESG starts this week, what do you guys think about his group? My thoughts (everything assuming TY can handle the travel between Korea and China and actually play his best away from home for once):
Jim: Jim used to be a big dog in the Chinese scene but in LotV he's not really been anybody, I'm surprised he qualified at all - his qualification is probably a consequence of how weak the APAC qualifiers were overall, as long as TY watches out for your typical Chinese all-ins and stuff, this should be an easy win
ShoWTimE: Showtime's really good, even though all Protoss players struggle in PvT atm I expect him to put up a very good fight, he's definitely going to make top 3 in the group
Cham: He looked pretty decent in NationWars but he shouldn't pose a threat to TY with how much practice he put in for this event, I don't think Cham gets out of this group either but there's a chance he does.
PSiArc: I love the guy but he's nowhere near good enough to advance or pose a threat to TY (as long as he's not caught off guard by cheese or the like) and I'm fairly confident he's the weakest player in the group
Kelazhur: One of the favorites of the group alongside TY and Showtime, he showed in NationWars he has no qualms about cheesing better players in TvT so TY will need to look out for that, however in the drawn out games against ByuN you could clearly see the difference in skill and he fell off quite a bit, so I don't expect TY to struggle much if the games go longer
Overall I expect TY to take 1st place in the group, dropping maybe 1 or 2 maps because of something stupid. And then he and Maru meet in the semifinals because of amazing bracket luck.
Also apparently the SC2 prize pool for WESG went down by a lot.

TY "shouldnt" lose to anyone in his group. Showtime will put up the hardest fight, and kelazhur will cheese him and maybe take of a game
|
I expect TY to win it all if he plays his best. If not now than never (this time i mean it^^)
