I'm a huge Scarlett fan, but I have to disagree. IdrA's timings and just overall gamesense are just a little bit tighter than Scarlett's in every matchup, not just ZvP. I've casted a whole bunch of his ZvPs (including the match vs Oz in Winter Arena) and he's just a hair better, and I'm the one who casted the Guillycuddy/oGsVINES games, so I feel like I have a pretty solid grasp of what we've seen from her. It's close, and I think she could be better than him with a little more practice and some serious practice partners, but as it stands right now, I can't say she's better.

Some notable issues I've seen in her ZvP is that she underdroned just a little bit (like, 4-5 drones less than she could pull off) in quite a few of her games, and she doesn't seem to have the most solid grasp of when it's appropriate to tech up to hive, which is in fairly stark contrast to her ZvT. She's exceptionally strong in the midgame when she can use mass roach to defend early aggression and deny the protoss third, but in quite a few of her games, she overextended on mass roach when the protoss was way ahead on tech, and lost (or had a much tougher win) when she could've just sat back, taken a 5th, and gone hive.

It's not a mechanical issue, which is what makes her such a promising player; it's hard to expect a player who isn't practicing against people on their level and talking with other pros to have as refined a playstyle as the other top pros. I imagine that a month or two on a solid team and lots of practice, she'll be able to iron out those issues, and can give IdrA a run for his money.


edit: also she made hydras in like 4 of the 8 ZvPs I watched, iirc, and got punished pretty hard for it in a lot of them. might just be part of her personal playstyle, but that's really unorthodox, and really easy for protoss to hard-counter. roach/hydra/corrupter stopped being standard for a reason.
