Just keep fighting and show everyone your true skills in every match!

It didn't really even seem like much in the games was decided by things that lag would affect, but I guess being thrown off can mess with your head, I don't know. Well the match was scheduled for EU between two EU teams and planned to be played on the EU server; Eclypsia sent Scarlett out with the assumption that she would have an EU account.

I disagree, sometimes I can play on NA and not feel lag, but other times it has quite a high latency (usually when I get a ZvZ haha). I guess it depends on where you're from and your ISP though (although I don't have problems otherwise). That said I'm not trying to say Scarlett didn't deserve the wins, but it's hard to tell how much latency PhoeNix had. I sadly didn't catch the games though, and I can't seem to find the VODs on that eclypsia own3d channel. I'm not very familiar with own3d though, so it could be I just don't know where to look.

Aphrodite is probably the only other even remotely close example, but she was fairly quickly relegated to novelty girl gamer when she clearly wanted to be more. Scarlett seems to be a much better player, but it's an issue of legitimacy in the eyes of sponsors and tournament hosts. We want her to be one of the best and have people know it, rather than have people think of her as one of the best women. Like I said, any exposure is good exposure to an extent, but this shouldn't end up being a habit. If she annihalates Aurora as we all expect, hopefully there will be no more gimick matches. I know it's tempting to just say eff what people think, but in reality, this sort of thing will end up determining how seriously she is taken. The female support system is definitely powerful, but I imagine they feel the same way I do when they see the sort of "who's the best girl gamer" gimick. Again, no big deal at this point. Just something to keep in mind when promoting events in the future. Who relegated Aphrodite to a novelty girl gamer? She receives relatively the same level of attention as any other Korean code B player(not much). If Aphrodite makes it through the code A qualifiers or makes deeps runs in the Korean weeklys I'm sure she will get the attention she will have earned. (Aphrodite seems cool but it is hard to distinguish yourself in Korea). Having good publicity might help catch some extra invitations to closed tournaments/showmatches but most tournaments still have open brackets and legitimate contenders(like Scarlett) can make their name there. Anyways as you said no big deal, I'm sure she will do fine whatever approach she chooses.
