If you're an old user, especially with a lot of posts, the chance that you get away with that behaviour is higher. If you're a community figure (caster, pro gamer or streamer), then the chance is even higher. However, that doesn't mean such people are immune to bans. IdrA got banned in the past for toxic behaviour mostly and much less for balance whining. This is my observation of TL during several years. If you're asking why permanently, then I guess he got warned/banned in the past temporarily, but he didn't change his behaviour very much. Some moderator/admin guy said earlier that they were ignoring his behaviour for some time.

Blizzard wants SC2 to wander out into the pasture and die. After witnessing their business moves with putting microtransactions above all else, and killing off their trademark franchise titles(diablo, heroes, SC), it is no surprise folks like Avilo are being silenced for speaking up. Don't you guys own a cell phone? Jeez.

Avilo certainly had some kind of ban coming, and if it wasn't for his constant balance complaints that would've gotten anyone banned then it might as well have been the baseless cheater accusations that'd drive in the final nail. I enjoy watching his stream and I think he's a good, though unnecessarily stubborn player. He's probably right about a lot of things he says but he certainly could make his points much better than endless ramblings while frustrated on stream or on the forums. I'm sure he could compile a comprehensive video on his thoughts on the current balance, using clips of professional gameplay, from assorted streams and unit tester footage. I think he has done similar things in the past but lately it's just been winding posts in patch threads, or re-making an old thread to say the same things. It's just venting frustration as well as fuelling others fires rather than inviting for constructive discussion that the actual balance team could've taken into consideration. Better yet, he has a sufficiently influential position to create a balancepatch map that people would've tried out. Sure, it would preach to his choir, and some who'd try would play a few games on it as some kind of joke to them. Either way it'd share his ideas much more effectively, especially if he took it seriously and balanced it fairly. I don't know if you're reading this Avilo, but you have more tools than most on this forum to express your ideas, don't throw them away. Anything you share on your stream can still be posted here by many of your viewers.

I wonder what amazes me the most, the fact that some people see avilo as a victim or that he managed to avoid getting banned all those years.

I'm on mobile so my best suggestion would be for you to use the search function. Leave the text box blank, leave the option selected for "threads only," type in avilo into the username filter, should be in there and easy to find.

There is almost no strategic discussion here, just copy what the pros do or be silent. TL has stopped being the place for SC2 discussion a long time ago. Everyone has moved to reddit or bnet, here anything that slightly controversial will result in a locked thread.

Avilo held an 800$ tournament after he raised 3k+ out of a 3500$ goal to go to DH Austin in 2017. He raised funds to travel to the event with his gf of the time but in the end 3k+ was not enough for a weekend in Austin so he pulled the plug on the project. You can understand why the 800$ tournament was not well received.
