Well we got conclusion to our what ifs. Sad but expected conclusion

So yeah, it did happen in the end. Sad to see an incredible player disappear from the scene because of matchfixing.

So sad about this news. I'll never 100% believe he did this willingly and without outside pressure. It just doesn't seem like life to me. But guess we won't know that even if that was the case.

So... there is a conviction?

E: Actually apparently he was already sentenced:
On April 21 2016 15:15 Waxangel wrote:According to Yonhap news ( source), Life was sentenced in January, receiving a sentence of eighteen months in prison, suspended by three years. A suspended sentence in Korea is similar to pre-emptive probation, with the convicted parties not required to their original sentence should they pass the probationary period without infractions. Life was also fined 70,000,000 won, the sum of his compensation for match-fixing. Life's sentencing is in line with the sentencing from the PRIME match fixing scandal, the Changwon Prosecutor's Office first investigation into match-fixing. Yonhap news reports that prosecutors have appealed the sentencing for being inappropriately lenient. Bbyong has also been charged with obstruction of business and receiving bribes, but has yet to receive sentencing.

soo, after this, i guess they are gonna take away his titles. but what happens with his earnings? can he keep it or he must repay it to blizzard/kespa? whats the standard procedure in such cases?
|
I'm pretty sure that they have no legal basis on which they could force him to return prize money. They could file a civil lawsuit to get compensated for potential damages, but that's about it. He'll probably not even be stripped of most of his titles (pretty sure match fixers were not stripped of titles from outside Korea so far), if any.

I just have no words right now. Need some time to digest this. I was so hyped for Life

Well... that's about it... Lifetime ban in the next few days and Life is definitely gone... I was "hoping" until the very end that Life is innocent, or that there might have been some non-financial reasons to fix the matches (-> Especially considering that he was a minor at the time. Being threatened or whatever). But yeah, all this stuff surrounding Life's match fixing scandal kind of ruined my passion for SC2 anyway. Most of my favourites are gone by now and with Life, basically the last one leaves the scene for good.

Goodbye Life. Thanks for all the wonderful memories. But sadly, you messed up... And now you have to face the consequences for your own actions...

I've been betrayed.

So this is one player I just can't simply stop rooting for. This guy is really, really gifted. He is still incredibly brilliant, and he always will be.
Everyone does mistakes; he is young. I also pursued retarded ideas at that age, not at that scale but they still cost me a shitload. He learnt his lesson the hard way. What's done is done. Now he can move forward and leave the past behind.
Chin up Life. We all make mistakes, we fall, then we stand up again and we move on. Get back in game. Start streaming or whatever the fuck. Keep walking.

Nooooooooooooooooo O well this is just more proof that you were the best! GG So will he be allowed to participate in non wcs tournaments? Yes I know... probably not
