it is only an insult if you actively know that person is black, on the internet you know nothing about the other person so i know for a fact that orb didnt mean it in the personally way cause he couldnt possible know his opponents race. to me its just as bad as raging using fuck, shit or whatever please grow up and understand that its rage not some insult against the skin color of the opponent he cant even see...

People refer to someone as 'being a Nazi' quite frequently 'Bush is a Nazi!' or 'My boss is a real Nazi' or 'Stop being the dishcleaning Nazi'
However, there's a massive differnce that is well pointed out by the example...calling someone a Nazi is meant to be an insult, because it's generally agreed that being a Nazi is not a good thing and it has a meaning, a Nazi would be a harsh, dictatorial uneasonable hateful person. A Nazi is literally a person with Nazi beliefs, you're not born it, its something you actively are doing. Some people do simply get offended at the mention of Nazis or the fact that something trivial is used to compare to something more horrific...but then they're offended because you're 'Making light of..' something serious...which yes people get offended but it rarely holds a whole lot of water in the general population if that's not really what you're doing.
On the other hand, the N word does refer to blacks as a race. So pretend it wasn't even 'nigger' pretend it was just 'black person' and the word itself isn't even offensive, but the actual use is. "You're taking dumb Black Person risks" would be an offensive thing to say. You're taking the word, nigger or black, and essentially putting it in a context where it means 'stupid, bad, negative' So the N-word has two different uses the are both offensive in different ways...actually calling a black person 'nigger' is dehumanizing because it refers directly to that intention, you're insulting that person or persons directly. The 2nd use though is not using it to insult black people directly, but using it as a synonym for other insults.
It's very similar to the usage of 'Gay'..it's widely understood that Gay is essentially used as a synonym for 'Lame' "HOTS isn't going to have Carriers anymore? That's Gay" Clearly no one is saying the SC2 expansion is a homosexual, or that not having carriers will cause MC to make less panties drop. But its insulting because an indentifying term for a group of people is literally being used as an insult.
It would be like saying "You ran away? man that's so French" and not understanding French people objecting to the connection...(not very loudly though, they're kind of timid about confrontations)
Now with all that said, something can be offensive but still not be grounds for someone to be publicly destroyed. I think we have to see these offensive things where the offense isn't too maliciously intended as 'Oops, I'll correct that' type situations instead of permanent taints on people.
So much we say and continue to say will be offensive in like 5 to 10 years, or may be very offensive in one country and not another. We're in a world where in some countries its still perfectly fine to write 'Looking for a Female Indian receptionist' in a help wanted ad, but in other countries you'll get fired for trying to suggest a reason not enough girls become engineers.
I hope Orb is doing good, I hope that since most of the 'offense' over this stuff was completely faked anyway, we can just move past it and he's not tainted forever.

orbs probably gone from all major sc2 casts now after that mistake (and i wish it wasnt this way) he* will probably have a hard time finding casting jobs
I've always liked Orb's casting and thought he offered a lot of insight into games and recently I saw his comments on State of the game episode 65 and I have to say I have so much respect for him now.
I loved his outlook and he proved my suspicions when he talked on SoTG, that he's a very intelligent guy. Supporting you with your E-sports career man and I hope you continue to grow in popularity.
I absolutely believe that it was NOT him in the screenshot that did surface, and I encourage anyone who thinks otherwise to watch him explain the issue on SoTG vod on youtube.
Orb is sick can't believe people are still mad about him saying something not even really that offensive, i dont see the point of trying to shelter kids from grime everyone experiences death sadness suffering abuse etc. in their life, a few swear words dont mean shit!
Just thought I should say that I really like the way Orb says things like "I don't think I like this but thenagain Teaja is better than me or that was just a mistake people are human" or words to that extent. I dislike how casters seem to over criticise certain mistakes and this seems a much better balance. GJ
Long time fan (loved the stream rage back in season 1) but never got around to here. IMO he is the best caster out there and is my favourite, ESV doesn't get as many viewers as it does. Please sign me up.
