Criticisms of the player are not welcome in fan club topic |

To me, it just seems like he had an angry outburst, which happens to everyone. Doing it at least four times is not an outburst.
He threw a tantrum on his personal stream and used a poor choice of words. Saying 'nigger' isn't a "poor choice of words". It's blatant racism pure and simple.
He's already been punished so there's no point in presenting insane rationalizations now.

I love his casting and I think everyone deserves a second chance. People get hundreds of second chances in life. Orb, if you're reading this, don't let this ruin your career, continue to cast, please.
|
I don't understand, this is Orb's fan club, if you're not a fan why do you have to come into his fan club to insult him? Go give your "important" opinion somewhere else.

smoke it off bro. thats a pretty shitty sitch but... yeah... good luck in the future, ill still tune in.

Orb,
Reddit really... I don't know. I like using Reddit, and I used to be able to say that I loved the website, and viewed it as a powerful way of connecting communities.
With this recent 'scandal' (which is honestly a BS word to describe the whole thing), I'm decided to completely remove Reddit from my browsing history, and I'm no longer going to support EG. Looks like I've decided between Liquid and EG.
Here's to hoping that this doesn't get you down. The silent many outweigh the vocal few, and we love your casting! Keep it strong, keep posting to YouTube, and continue providing a great source of entertainment! You'll always have your fans to fall back on.
Off topic, if you'd consider doing an interview about this catastrophe and want to talk about career options you might pursue after this fiasco, PM me. I'd love to get a chance to help you defend yourself.
Cheers,
BlueBoxSC

Well done Reddit. You ruined a guys casting career. Hope you feel good.

I put this in your apology threa but you'll probably get a better chance of seeing it here.

Everyone says stupid stuff sometimes, and it sucks that some prick decided that it'd be a good idea to dig something up from a vod on your stream when you had finally gotten an amazing position. Keep your head up, you're a great caster and should be damn proud that your talent and level of analysis has gotten you as far as it did.
Keep doing what you're doing, because your casting made the master cup something to look forward to every day.
Ps. Ignore the trolls in this thread. Theyre one in a million, Anyone who goes out of their way to bitch and moan at you in an apology thread deserves the worst.

Sometimes the starcraft community just makes you feel sick. Jake is being banned for comments that were made in the past. While they were stupid, dumb, and immature, they were done in a relatively meaningless setting. A public apology for his past comments was warranted, that's it. I sincerely believe that.
There are videos on Youtube of DjWheat being raucous, rowdy, and throwing out curse words left and right, should he be no longer affiliated with EG because of this? People make mistakes, people do stupid shit. They should apologize and they should deserve second chances unless they did something particularly heinous.
This was a case of the SC2 community (and particularly /r/starcraft) at it's worst. Where were these white knights before? Only now that he was affiliated with EG this stuff comes out? This has witch hunt written all over it.

Hi Orb, I'm not sure if you actually read this but I just wanted to tell you that I used to watch your stream half a year (estimate) ago and I really enjoyed it. As a protoss player just learning how to play the game I liked watching your ladder matches, i LOVED your playlist (I'm a huge power metal fan, we have a lot of bands in common), and I even found your nerdrage amusing.
What just recently happened to you with EG makes me really sad. People on Reddit literally pulled up screenshots from 2011 and whatever incriminating crap they could find just to start shit from nothing at all. I don't know what they were trying to get at but any reasonable person should know that you didn't mean any harm with your angry bouts on ladder. It's like saying they never get mad when playing games.... which is a total lie.
Anyway don't let all this bs get to you, it will fade away.

I hope you keep producing content Orb, though I would understand if you want no part of the community now. You got the short end of the stick, to put it lightly, but you still have a shitload of fans who actually realize how much you've done for the scene.

Not that I'm here to incite controversy in any way but look at it from a business perspective.
I do agree that he should not have been let go by EG for the words he said. Everyone including myself has definitely said some unflattering words during a frustrating game. It's normal, and for the community to freak out about it is somewhat disappointing (but this whole country in general is very sensitive to racism).
However, considering that Orb initially denied saying it (and denied it a few more times) while EG supported his denial and then it was proven he actually said it, that is more a lack of credibility from a business perspective for both him and EG. EG really had no choice once the evidence came out, and I feel if he had simply admitted to it and apologized he would have been reprimanded but not let go. Alas this didn't happen. EG supported Orb until a full investigation was committed, and I don't think they had much of a choice but to let him go considering the evidence, the mistrust, and the potential damage keeping him around might have done.
It's one thing to say something out of anger. People can forgive that. However, in business lying is never tolerated. Credibility is one of the most valuable traits people can really represent themselves by and it can make or break your career. I feel bad and hope Orb continues to cast because he is a great caster, but I think this a good lesson for the future in terms of being honest with people.

I'm not trying to make excuses, but it's all about whether you get caught or not. I think everybody would be surprised what happens behind the scenes in every sport or business.

I'm so sorry man.
This community is awful, pathetic and childish.

QFT Poor Orb, sometimes the starcraft community can get a little irrational at times - I mean we're only human.
btw I can't believe I forgot to sign up, so sign me up please!

As one of your many fans, I will continue to watch your casting, and will continue to do so as long as you maintain the amazing quality that has earned my, and many other's admiration.
I hope you find more work soon, because you're my favorite caster (behind Day[9]) ;-)

Sign me up, I've always been a fan of Orb. First he had one of the most entertaining streams to watch, I remember I was looking for it when it wasn't featured. I enjoyed many broadcasts and also learned quite some innovative little things. Then Orb continued to pleasantly surprise me, raising to become a great SC2 caster, at a level that often left me asking myself why he isn't in Korea working for GOM. In any case, I appreciate your work, Orb, and will follow you in the future too.
