I think what really separates this guy from a lot of koreans and players like idra is his ability to think on his feet. The first game vs. mvp is a great example of that imo. I mean you don't plan to tech to broodlords ultra-fast on 3 base, but he realized that it was the ONLY way to win the game after losing so many drones early on against mech. It is such a tough call to make in-game, because you are like "well, if he attacks me during the next 5-10 minutes, I'm dead".

I was rooting for naniwa (scandanavian support!) But after seeing leenock play, the way he does it, I have to say I became a instant fan, esp. his games against MVP were superb. SIGN ME UP!!

Well deserved victory from Leenock =D, his run was amazing and he is the ONLY player (I think, can be wrong tho) to have won TWO extended series (while being the one disadvantaged) in the same MLG, even winning in extended series is pretty hard there aren't many players who did it once in an MLG.
I will probably make a video of the players that had a great story in this MLG, including Leenock, but I missed quite a lot of games thus I want to ask you which games/sets of Leenock were the most interesting/contain great actions (I saw some nice drone splitting on an esport site for example :D)?
Thanks in advance, it will help a lot =)

LOL I thought I was still in the Naniwa fanclub. I was so confused for a second after reading your post under the assumption you were talking about Naniwa! :D

Congratulations for winning.

But to be honest, I didn't like this finals. I just hate when in finals of big tournament winner always goes for one thing, one build It was painful to watch. Leenock deserved winning, he was the best but never again I want to see this style of playing. I will definitely avoid watching Leenock's games - at least those against P.

Haha, what?

Naniwa literally used the same opening (nexus first or forge fe) in all of his PvZ's this weekend. It's a greedy opener that reaps high rewards if it goes unpunished and Leenock was the only Zerg to consistently punish Naniwa's greedy play. As shown in his sets versus Nestea and DRG, Naniwa clearly knows how to control PvZ if he is able to get his natural up and running without a problem. Leenock's play was reactionary, and he needed to do damage to Naniwa when he was vulnerable during the opening stages of his nexus first play. If he didn't put early pressure on, then he might've fallen victim to Naniwa like the other top Korean Zergs.

Overall, I was very impressed with Leenock's stamina and decision making in all matchups throughout the weekend. Congratulations on a well deserved victory, I was shouting for you the whole time haha!

You're so stupid. FFE for protoss is standard, of course he's going to do it every game.

I knew this guy had stellar ZvT but after MLG, it seems like all his match ups are scary right now.

Don't think its appropriate to talk about protoss strategy here but saying that is the most stupid thing I've ever heard.

It's a build which assumes that your opponent isn't going to do a powerful all in .

That's like saying hatch first ZvP is standard because proxy 2 gate or cannon rushes don't occur often. If you have been doing the same exact unsafe opening for 3 days in a row , you deserve to be punished for it.

Also congrats to leenock for winning MLG , always been one of my favourite zergs since he's the same age as me . Remember he was the zerg who lost to nada after trying to 6pool him or something in the GSL.
