Oz started his career in early 2008 under the ID SeCret in Brood War. Although never reaching any great heights he did manage to take games of notable players such as Bisu and Violet. In October 2010, SeCret retired from Brood War and switched over to Starcraft 2 joining the fOu clan under the ID Twilight and at times held multiple accounts in the top 25 Grandmasters of the Korean ladder.
In June 2011, Twilight left fOu to join the foreigner team FXOpen, under the new ID Oz, as one of the first Koreans to join a foreigner team, a movement that has been taken on by other Koreans such as Rain and Pheonix. Under FXOpen, Oz proved his worth as a key player in team leagues while making deep runs into Code S as well. After about a year in FXOpen, Oz left and joined team Fnatic.
Trivia: While on fOu, Twilight acted as a playing coach When he joined FXOpen, he wanted to change his ID to Poo, but was advised against it by the rest of FXO The first phrase taught to Oz by the FXO team was 'Sup Son?'
Hey guys! Just added a link to download a replay of Oz vs Jinro! And I also added the recent Inside FXO Bo5 with Oz playing tgun that happened yesterday! Make sure you guys tune in to GSTL on Friday to see FXO play fOu! I'd expect Oz to play as he used to play and coach on fOu! Hopefully this means that FXO can put up a really good show since Oz would probably know a fair bit about the fOu players if he coached them.

FXO is going to be allkilled by fou anyway. They have a notable vT weakness and fOu has a very good Terran lineup. Nuclear, Gumiho and sC definitely pose a huge threat on fxo. I don't think Oz can get rid of all these players by himself. But it would be funny if Oz did a "sup son" on fOu after winning.

Yea I agree, It would probably take something amazing for FXO to win, especially now that Sheth is gone, but with Oz's knowledge and a bit of luck hopefully they can take a few games. It's likely they will get all killed but I just don't think that they will, even if it is just Oz taking a game off the random fOu guy that starts. I'm just hoping that Oz gets one or two kills and we see some good play out of the other guys.

Thing is, Oz is the only guy that can take games off fOu terrans but his past experience with fOu team is a double edged weapon. I mean, Oz knows fOu players very well, but just like that, fOu players know Oz and his style. Oz may be unable to pick wins for fxo and I don't think other players will be able to pick wins either (maybe a protoss may win against NuclearfOu but that's it I guess).

sC took 2 games off DongRaeGu. He'll treat tgun like a bubble gum. And, vZ is his worst matchup according to statistics. And, he's more skilled than 2 Terrans that all killed FXO (Hack and Jjakji? WTF LOL?!) combined.

Yea that is true, I only give Oz the edge over fOu because Oz acted as a coach, and imo that means that Oz would have more knowledge cause he would have coached the players not just played with them. I don't know though, SLoG impressed me in his GSTL game, only problem was he didn't notice the nuke and lost. Just have to support them and hope they do well ^^.
Alright guys! Just a reminder, only about 5 hours till FXO come out and go up against fOu. Make sure you are watching to support them and see our own Oz play against his old team. GOGO FXO hwaiting!
Just been announced today that Oz will be heading to Anaheim for MLG! Make sure you watch and support him through the open bracket! Lets hope he puts up a good show! Oz hwaiting!
Just a reminder guys that Oz will be playing in MLG Anaheim that starts tomorrow! Make sure you wish him the best of luck Hopefully he can put an a really good show and go deep into the tournament! OZ FOR MLG!
Okay so an update as to Oz's place in the winners bracket at the end of day 1!
Oz has gone 8-0 in the winners bracket so far taking out SCMothership(P), xSixShadow(P), stolenpanda(Z) and Sixjax_Vibe(Z) all 2-0 with his longest game being only 12 minutes long! Looks like he has been crushing faces in his first MLG!
So now he has to take on Tri_Master(T) and if he wins that he takes on the winner of FXOqxc(T) and FnaticRain(T) for a spot in pool play!
Oz lost to Rain in the final of his winners bracket 1-2 But he was still alive in the champ tournament but unfortunately lost in the championship bracket to wbc 1-2
But hey! not bad for his first ever MLG making it all the way out of the open bracket into the champ bracket!
Great result for our Oz but unfortunate that we wont be able to see him continue in this tournament.
Aaww yeeah, Oz for Code A :D It kind of sucks for him he beat boxer though, some people just feel like if you beat boxer you deserve to be lynched in public, it's stupid.
Oz 2-1s byun to move into te next round. As soon as I get home I need to watch the VODs!
Well done and good luck in the next round.
I'm proud of all you hipster nerds who signed up before code a! Oh and also, there is no need to hide results in spoilers from his game ^^, this is a fanclub, if you come into it expect to see results
On September 26 2011 19:52 iyoume wrote: Oz! good chance to win code A now :>
Seems like it!
He still has to get past some tough opponents.
Not sure whether I'd rather him play Sage or Lucky, I think he has a better chance at taking out Lucky, and if he makes finals he has to play Gumiho or Curious, both very good players....

I was thinking about it a few days ago, Oz has improved so much since the fan club was made. I'm really impressed with how much he has improved and his play is so impressive now.
Amazing micro there against the dual gateway rush, didn't lose anything, was just perfect. Was definitely cheering for Oz, Sage is so hyped and Oz seems underrated, well played!

Awesome ^^. Is there some sort of VOD or anything for it that you can link me? I missed it and would love to see it and I'll see if I can add it to the OP if it's big enough :D
Hey guys! Reminder that Oz is playing in Code A finals in about 7 hours time! Going to hopefully be very close games and hopefully Oz can come out ahead!
Disappointing to see Oz fall that handily. He played really well in the first few games with just a few missteps, sad that he had to do the 2-gate proxy in the last game, falling ironically like Sage did in the Semi-finals to himself.
At least we'll see him in the Up&Downs, let's wish him luck there!
GUYS OZ IS IN CODE S! I think he will fit in quite well ^^
Oh btw, thanks guys for keeping the fanclub active, I've been a bit busy lately so I havnt been able to be as active as I would have liked.. So thanks guys ^^

Never fear, according to GuMiHo Oz has very good PvT
I haven't seen a ton of Oz games so I can't comment on it personally, but GuMiHo said Oz's PvP is "good" and his PvT is "really good." - obviously implying his PvT is better than his PvP.
Seems a pretty middle of the road group.. I think Oz should be able to beat all of these guys, the hardest will probably be CoCa but yea, I think he should be able to got out at least 2-1
IMO, Oz should get out of this group easy. The only thing i'm worrying is Bomber's TvP... hopefully since it's Calm Before The Storm we get to see decent 2-3 base play.
PvP against Sage will look like a joke just like GSL.
Wow Oz beat coca? Doesn't that make for coca's first live loss to a protoss? Go Oz next toss hero and he doesn't have the curse of artosis double the hope.

Coca's ZvP dominance was during the reign of the infestor. With the neural nerf he probably isn't so confident in the matchup considering he definitely used a lot of infestors.
OZ fighting! With Sage out you're the protoss hope this AOL! Take ittt
But wow, excellent job versus NaDa. Sad that Oz had to be the one to oust him from Code S for the first time, but he played incredibly. FIGHTING! Get to the next round :D
Been looking at the new format in liquipedia, noticed that aLive and Happy are in his Ro.32 group. Now, they are both wonderful players but they don't have noticeable TvP.
Even better, the last slot has a 3/4 chance of being Terran.

I think he can take it 2-0 and if he doesn't I think he'll still get out 2-1! Go support our favourite Protoss!
Oh and also, I'm done with exams now! So expect a big update within the next few days and I'll ad everyone I haven't had time to add! Thanks for the patience and for commenting here so often! Even nestea has finally been broken down by artosis it seems. Waiting for when MvP drops to code B thanks to artosis hype.
Oz got kicked out of MLG by Keen going down 2-0, sad that he left that way since he is so good in PvT but he at least made it really far! Was a really good effort! But now he can start preparing for his games against MMA and hopefully show us why he is such a PvT beast
PvT beast strikes again. Game 3 was amazing! Can't wait to see him in the Ro4 and hopefully he can make the finals! So excited at how good he is getting!

Yea, to quote Wolf, who knows Oz really well.
He's a house of cards when he is nervous
Just hope he can get over his nerves and win the next GSL
Is Oz on Foreigner FXO or Korean FXO? I remember he used to be TwilightfOu and then he joined International FXO and because FXOz. Then fOu turned into Korean FXO. So, did Oz rejoin Korean FXO or is he still part of international FXO?

If I understand correctly, Korean fxo is just exist because of GSTL logistics. Since FXO want OZ in GSTL he would probably be a part of FXO Korea.
So while I was @ MLG I had the pleasure of speaking with Raelcun that he was saying Oz has possibly the strongest PvP and PvT so far yet and is capable of expanding when usually no one else would but he can, because he knows it is definitely safe. Oz is a talented player and i am definitely a fan.
Q: Anything else you want to say? A: I thank Startale Parting, oGs_MC, and our team's Tassadar and Sage for their help in practice. My parents and relatives said that if I advanced to the finals, they would come up to Gwangju. I will get to see them after a long time so I'm happy, and I hope that my family will have a good time after I win. Recently the Director has been helping me with nerves so I thank him, and I really thank my teammates for cheering for me. I want to say that I love my family and girlfriend.
Thanks for repaying Oz for getting you into the Blizzard Cup MC.
I'll be honest, I only started watching him play because I needed serious help with my XvT matchups (I will not make any balance jokes), but I find him entertaining to watch. That is, when he doesn't have all of his Sentries and HT hit by one EMP in the middle of the map 20 seconds before Psi Storm finishes.
According to Khaldor, Oz doesn't want to stream his first person play because he thinks he's too bad and lacks popularity, so he needs to win GSL before streaming.
I might be terrible late, but maybe we should make a petition to show Oz how popular he is now to stream?

Yeah, I added that after watching the desRow coaching. I'm gonna go edit it since it sounds WAY too colloquial. Along with everything else I've added to Oz's liquipedia.
what? Oz thinks he is not good and have no viewers? i think he will have a top 5 protoss stream... at least 1000 viewers each time... he is a top 4 GSL for heaven sake...
Get to see Oz play again in about 3 days! He just recently beat Bomber in the KSL, so I'm confident he can do it again. And although Inca is really good at PvP, so is Oz. Not sure about Curious, though. It depends on whether his PvZ got better or not.

He was 7-3 in his PvZ before he met Curious....
I think Oz got the worst possible group for him. Not only does InCa has one of the best PvPs, but he has to beat Bomber's godly TvP (although Oz has a great history against him) and a rematch with Curious... To make it worse he has to practice all 3 match ups as well.
I'd love to see Oz self commentate in his English while streaming. He'd be the only Toss stream I'd watch, all I really watch are Terrans and rarely Stephano when he does.

All of the above. Oz is very much a preparation player. He will go OCD on every aspect of his opponents play and then practice specific strategies for each map. Starting first with early game, how does this opening go against opening A,B,C,D then he expands it to the reactions and reactions of reactions all the way until engame. While he cant practice for every situation, he gets 99% of them

anyway, I'm back where there is internet finally and will update now :D

Oz had some moments of great play and some huge mistakes as well last night. In the end he barely didn't make it out of his group, but he's still a great player and I eagerly await more great games from him. Hopefully his experiences in the booth will help him overcome nerve issues as well
Sorry for the double post, but Oz just carried FXO to defeat Liquid in the IPLTAC2. First game was a fantastic timing push against Ret, second game had Oz defending against a Roach/Ling drop with incredible scouting and forcefields, and the last game showed us Oz's brilliant decision making, where he made the decisive move to go for DTs after reading HerO's tech.
On March 06 2012 12:48 HolyArrow wrote: Oz so clutch. I wonder if FXO considers him their ace, seeing that they've used him as their last line of defense in GSTL and now IPL as well.
IMO it's because Oz is an extremely stable player. GuMiho is off and on, so he's not exactly dependable to bring them back from behind if necessary. Leenock is heavily dependent on baneling bombs and other various shenanigans. Plus, he's zerg, which is probably the least "stable" race. Lucky is in a similar boat. Also, Oz has no real weak match-up. His PvT and PvP are fantastic, and PvZ is definitely not bad. Gumiho has shown to be (historically) weak at TvT, Lucky's ZvZ could use work, and Leenock's ZvP is his achilles' heel. All the factors make it so that Oz is the best closer, though not necessarily the "ace".
my two favourite players Oz and Polt in the same group! :'(
as much as that seems like a group of death, Code S is so stacked these days that every other group doesn't seem much better! haha
I've been out of the scene for a but, but I think Oz should be able to take down Parting relatively easily, Fin will be interesting, but I think Oz can take him. The hard one is Polt, who is a beast at PvT, though he has been slumping a bit lately..
Hoping that Oz and Polt take 1 and 2, and I think its probably a good bet that they will, Oz v Polt would be and important (and amazing) game for the group... and Polt v Fin will probably be pretty defining on who makes it out of the group.
In all the pictures before his hair was really straight, did he have a straight perm before? And his hair is wavy now because the time period passed and he needs another?

Hero only went down 2-1 after all, and he completely tilted in the final game. That said, Maru is pretty damn good, but Oz is known for his PvP chops, and his PvT CAN be very good so it's a good group for him
He'd better win Code S this season, from a selfish point of view, he said he wouldn't stream until he won a GSL
Something interesting to note is that, as mentioned before, Oz is a preparation-based player. Him getting the latest group means that he's had more time to prepare specific builds against his opponents. Squirtle has a huge library of games available from IPL4, and MC's been around since the beginning of GSL. My main worry is Maru, who seems to have very strong TvP as of late.
Anyway, good luck to Oz tomorrow! Hak Su fighting!
Sign me up please! Oz has just impressed me more and more. Even though he looks very shaky, I think he just has such longevity in him and I really respect his approach towards the game. We need more players like him. Plus, he's such a fun and nice guy - i have nothing but respect for this guy =)
Oz's PvP is WAY stronger than PartinG's. If Oz comes prepared with specific builds, and doesn't make any mistakes, then he has a good chance of making it to the Semifinals.
Agh! I'm not a big fan of Fnatic, but I respect Oz's decision. Hopefully by having a new setting with new practice partners, Oz can get his first big tournament win.
Kind of sad, I liked him a lot more in FXO. But we've seen players switch to foreign teams and continue to do well, so I hope to see him continue to make strong showings in Code S and at other tournaments.
Does anybody know if him joining Fnatic will see him (finally!) stream a bit?
Sounds like he's tearing it up in the MLG Spring Arena qualifiers, 2-0ing Alive who is known for his TvP. As another point, I really feel Oz is underrated in that matchup, he's really pretty decent PvT

In GSL November, he was one of the best PvT players in the league. It really isn't that bad at all.

Well he seems to be a very good preparation player, comes out with lots of cool builds that function well. I've heard some people describe him as having 'top 3 PvT' and some saying he's terrible at the matchup, bit strange really the divergence of opinions there.
Wouldn't you know it, Oz won the entire MLG Korean qualifier! Even if it isn't really a tournament, it's still impressive, as he beat some very good players.
2-1 Inori 2-0 aLive 2-0 Symbol 2-1 Alicia 4-2 Synbol
At this rate he'll have a great run at MLG Spring Arena.
Also, someone else needs to run this fanclub it hasn't been updated for 2 months (which is not a long time I know, but a lot has happened and there is a lot of things there needs to be updated). I think many people (including me) would like the job
arghhh i don't know what to feel about oz anymore. used to be my #2 player but i can't stand being a fan of the same guy silentbonjwa/godofwar/zerosc2 is haha. bah
oO What was that i just read he went out 0-4 in MLG with 2 PvPs? Is this because of nerves or the tournament format (less preperation) or maybe jet lag?
I'm really sorry for being away so long. I've had some rather pressing health issues and I just don't have time to stay in the scene enough to run this fanclub..
I'm in the process of handing it over to another person so hopefully within the next few days the fanclub will be up and running again Sorry to keep you guys waiting for so long! hopefully when I'm better and have some more time I'll be able to stop by and check up on Oz and contribute in some way

Hey guys. Mr SweetNess was kind enough to let me take over the fanclub OP so I'll try to keep it well updated. First, if anyone can make a new banner suitable for Oz's new team, please PM me. I like the FXOpen banner a lot but it's not fitting anymore xD
Edit: I replaced the FXOpen banner with a nice banner I found on Fnatic's site. I will try to get everything up to date, but there's a lot of stuff to change/add, so please bear with me
Hey guys! As I said before I've been out of the scene for a while... Was wondering if anyone can give me a quick update of how Oz has been doing.. watched his latest GSL games and noticed that Artosis still called him one of the best 2 protoss in the world or something like that... even with his results.. has he competed in many other tournaments and how has he been doing overall?
(Please tell me he is still the boss he was before I got sick.. haha)

He appears to be slumping as of late Lots of losses recently (9 out of 10 of his past games), but I'm sure he'll manage to get back into good form.
On June 24 2012 15:16 GoingGoingGone wrote: From Wolf's twitter: "Is Oz's cute girlfriend reason enough for his recent 'slump'?"
Actually, quite a fair reason. I really hope Oz gets better results, preferably blaze right through Code A and back into Code S.
Yeah, I felt crushed when he lost to Maru in his last game that night. It's also disappointing to see that he was knocked out of so many random non-Korean tournaments to people that he should be beating easily
Unfortunately he didn't qualify for Homestory Cup and TSL 4 yet. Hope he gets through Code A fast without U/D-Matches. A cute girlfriend could be a reason for some results though... :D
Edit: BTW I'm still not on the list I think someone needs to complete that...
Whenever I watch Oz's games, even when he loses, I learn something. The way he views the game is different than other players, that's why you see him do really cool builds; a lot of them are economical and I just love his style of play more than any other korean protoss. <3 Oz! You'll be out of your slump in no time.

Thank god. I swear this is either the third or fourth* time that he's been hit by a gateway proxy of some sort. And if I recall correctly he's held flawlessly almost every single time.

Thanks for taking up the fanclub duties, by the way. It was getting so depressingly out of date.
(though I'm not blaming MrSweetNess, he's done a stellar job, especially with how many other fanclubs he's started -- my sympathies are with him for his health and time issues, hope he can show up more often :D)

No problem. Oz is one of my favorite players so I was happy to do so.
That was a very smart base trade by Oz against YuGiOh and a perfect hold against JYP's proxy 2-gate. Even though he ended up losing to CoCa, he played really well!
Going 4-1 against Stephano is sooo impressive for any Protoss He can still win vs Alicia, but anything can happen, it's PvP. I'd love to see Oz vs Taeja in the finals.

I just saw Oz's Up&Down Group (E). He will have to go complete boss mode if he wants to get out of there. 2 Z and 2 T all Code S level (maybe with the exception of Life, I don't know).
Hate to double post, but Oz beat Fantasy in the OSL earlier today! While he's one of the most inconsistent players out there, when he's on, he's extremely good :D
how has Oz been doing lately haven't had time to check out many games lately.. still tearing up everyone?
Not really, he lost some, but he's doing great in OSL (though his game vs Nestea... painful). I feel like Oz needs to find his rhythm. When that happens, he'll own nerds again. Currently, he's pretty inconsistent.
But still a treat to watch.
Edit: I just saw I'm not in the members list, even though I applied some time ago. I want in, pleaaaase.
PvP has turned into Oz personal nightmare it seems... can't believe he is gone regarding GSL. I hope he can requalify soon and he wins against DRG in OSL.
Since no one else is talking about it, I suppose I will.
Oz went on a 10-2 tear in the last week of MLG vs. Proleague, securing a spot in the playoffs. He played teammate aLive in the Round of 16, and won 4-1. He will play NaNiwa next.
I haven't been able to watch the games, so I'm not sure where this new strength came from, but I hope he keeps it up.
Hey guys, feel free to like Oz's official (and only) Facebook fan page here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/FnaticOz/445689248825968 We've just set it up recently so looking to get likes in Would be nice if the OP can post this as an update too.
I just want to point out that Oz is crushing in the RSL. He 3-1'd Monchi, and then 3-0'd Leenock. I'm holding back my hype for a little bit, because the map pool in the RSL is messed up, but he faces Lowely next, and I'm staying positive about his chances!

Oz interestingly always does well against Leenock. hes one of the very few Protoss players that has figured him out, or well it might just be their shared past in FXO
However, hes still so inconsistent and semi motivated, which is fully reasonable unfortunately, as fnatic really needs to add some koreans for Oz to practice...

I think that's a huge part of it. Oz is very good at dissecting a player. However, I think the majority of it is just Oz's amazing PvZ style. It's a style that he used to beat Symbol, Violet, Stephano and Leenock in the past. It's a big reason I'm confident he can beat Lowely.
Go go Oz! If he can claim first place it'll be a wonderful way to cap off the year which has kinda been up and down for him, despite that incredible play at MLG Summer Arena.
too bad man, keep your head up, it's an impressive second place finish and you should be proud of that. you had some great forcefields btw. now go rule the ProLeague and reach out for the championship next wcs season! Oz fighting!
