Has anyone seen the earnings-charts for SC2 overall? He's like the only one in the top10 not from Korea.
So where was your prediction prior to the tournament?
Did you give one?
Do you know what The_Darkness, who is now all huff and puff, said before the tournament?
He said that HerO was 60:40 favored against Stephano.
It's very amusing.
The argument wasn't even about whether Stephano was the underdog, because that's what everybody who made a prediction thought. It's one thing to hope that Stephano is going to triumph against all odds, another to put those odds in his favor.

I did not make any predictions in this thread or anywhere else. I felt like he'll beat Hero, because Hero just breaks down sometimes due to nerves, and it will come down to 50:50 vs. MC because their games have always been back and forth and that this match would be the match of the tournament. One time MC wins, the other time Stephano wins etc. What was their stats, 3:4 or something like that? Not sure.
Top3 was EZ in my opinion, but not the tournament win, mainly because Ret has been playing very well lately and I hoped he would make it (which sadly didn't happen). Ret's ZvZ is very strong when he plays good and ZvZ is not something you can plan out like ZvP with all the timings that Stephano uses for safety.

Yes, the Team Liquid poll was like 60% stephano winner of the tournament day's before it started.
just stop arguing for arguing, maybe it's your hollyday and you have too much time, but this is becoming annoying.

Great Itw yes.
He say that may be he play GSL. but apparently, like me he doesn't like the format, and like what he say about WCS vs HSC, more money to win in 3 tournaments than in one, so he go to WCS.
he stay true to himself, and talk about what e-sport change for him, about living in M house, Korean house, and EG lair, he talk about being soon a free agent and say he need something like 1 - money, 2 fame to gain with the team, 3 - buddy's in the team... place the bets, I was convince that he would stay in M before this Itw, now, i'm pretty sure he will move to another team. he say something like that about best place to live for esport : korea : best for level usa : best for money EU : best mix for level and money.

I could have swore that the poll TL put up had like 30% people thinking he was going to win...

I was talking about this thread, not the LR thread. LR thread polls are filled with fame voters who vote for whoever is popular / whoever they want to win, and the polls don't close after the games so people are allowed to go back and vote in hindsight. Reading the LR thread, however, the general sentiment was that HerO was the favorite, and that was the same sentiment here.

I'm ready to drop the subject. The question is, are you?

Impossible, the ONLY think that might push stephano toward mouz is mana, other than that he will stay at Mill if he chooses a euro team.
The main contenders are Fnatic or EG and i don't think he will join Fanatic considering the players they have. But i will be sad if he leaves Mill

I guess in joining EG the mark for the start of his actual slump will be set, just like everybody else who joins EG :-)
But I wonder ... after telling Hasu to kill some jews, Alex Garfield must really be bending his own rules in order to make that happen. I say fuck EG ... if only someone else hat that much money, since that's what Stephano wants. God dammit, who else could possibly offer him that much. Can't think of any team.

EG has different standards for their players and casters.
But no, that joke won't fly in the US. Germany is worse, however, and that's where Mouz is. I don't think Mouz is going to hire Stephano after what he said to Hasu. Yes, it was in jest, but Anti-Semitism is a huge taboo in Germany and they won't want to a player who's joked about it in the past.
|
i honestly dont think that "joke" would be that much of a problem, hasu und stephano troll each other all the time, stephano with the jew killing thing, hasu asking stephano how many bombs he planted latetly (because he's arab and all). Of course, posting it via twitter is not the most intelligent decision ever made by stephano, but then again nobody cared either when tarson called hasu Nazi-toss at hsc

Yeah, it's quite easy if Stephano gets in trouble again (which tends to happen ^^) to just exhume these tweets from the past and say : "look, he isn't just a drunk, he was an antisemitist too". That could be bad PR for ages, better avoid that. I think Quantic could deal with it though, seeing they recruited Naniwa in his worst period
Edit : Yes, it's just a joke, and everyone in this fanclub knows that. But the average TLer/redditor just looking for trouble ? He won't go past the sidebar title to claim Steph' is to be witch hunted.

Don't worry, everything will be fine.

I really want to see Stephano go to Korea, take it seriously, and be a contender for the GSL championship. If I were in his shoes (with all that talent and relatively low practice time compared to other pros) I know I'd do the easy thing and squeak by with the least amount of effort possible, but here's hoping he chooses a different path.
How awesome would it be if JD got team 8 to sign stephano? JD + stephano constant practice...that's what I'm talking about.

Impossible Mierin then he would have to stay in Korea full time and will barely attend any international tournaments. He is going to Korea in 2-3 weeks and he had to cancel Asus Assemply and proberly some more. Its very unlikely an international superstar like Stephano would only concentrate on one place especially considering he dont like the format at all.
In BW, Korea was the only place to be. In starcraft 2 is not the case anymore. I actually expect the international scene getting bigger and bigger. Starcraft 2 is truly a global scene now!
