SC2 needs players like Stephano..anyone basically who is CODE A /S standard and doesnt come from Korea needs as much support and encouragement as possible, be it Huk, Naniwa, Thorzain or Stephano . One country cannot dominate and it be a world scene. It wont work..fans will get disenchanted.
Couldn't agree more. Think of how boring the Olympics would be if china literally won EVERY gold metal. I mean, it's okay that one country takes the lead overall but there needs to be at least a few people like Michael Phelps, or Shawn White to give them a challenge and take a few victories. When the competition dies, so does fans interest.

I won't be able to watch IPL this week-end, i'll read here his results! Good luck Stephano.
Why would he not participate? He qualified to do so.

Except the actions of one person won't contribute to the success of the sc2 scene in any tangible way I completely disagree with you, at least having some foreigners able to compete with Korean players is way more attractive than a one-country-only tournament. Stephano is one of the only reason I follow SC2, because I love watching him play, and as soon as he'll retires from pro-gaming, I'm quite sure it'll mean the end of SC2 for me. I'm obviously not going to bring success to the SC2 scene alone, but I think I'm not the only one feeling this way. I'm sorry, but if u watch Sc2 for one player only they you're part of a very, very small minority.

Looks like nobody could get him a steelseries steelseries 6GV2 I hope this doesn't affect his play, since I know from my own experience that these little things can really crush your mindset.

Exactly my thoughts, cause he asked for a 6GV2 on twitter the other day , strange he couldnt get one....

I'm glad Stephano won! But he is looking sloppier than usual... I hope it is because he is warming up because otherwise he is gonna have a hard time against MKP...
|
Stephano got supply blocked like 3 times in the "game" vs mkp, not looking like he is in beast mode this time around TT
|
now we know what manner hatches are for ->to spot hidden bases :D
|
OMG the game against MKP was just perfect. He just read exactly the build of MKP and countered it perfectly!
|
hmm, I thought he had it after deflecting the banshees so well and catching the drops, maybe his making 9 overlords at a time strategie hurt him a bit too much dunno :/
|
Stephano played realy well, but i'd not liked the Ultras against MKP. Maybe we'll see a rematch - i realy liked the games.

Stephano went back to his old ling infestor ultra style and I think that's going backwards rather than forwards. His departure from Korea and unwillingness to practice is hurting his play a lot.

I don't think this statement should be said just because he lost 1-2 to the best player in the world who recently has beaten DRG 4-1. While it is true that Ultra-Ling-Infestor is relatively weak in the late game it gives the zerg a superiour army once the ultras pop out for the first time and the terran has not yet got enough marauders. This could be seen in game 3 where Stephano totally crushed MKP's army in the first major engagement. Unfortunately he made some mistakes(he is human after all). For example he should have used his infestors better in the second engagement, the came kinda late to the battle and he obviously shouldn't have fought at that choke position or at least destroyed the rocks earlier on. In addition he had some strange supply blocks in the earlier game. So in my oppinion he didn't just lose because he is stubborn with his strategy. Furthermore many(actually pretty much all of them) top zergs have recently started to use the Ultra-Ling-Infestor style from time to time. Idra even said in an Interview that the zvt Metagame is shifting away from mutalisks and towards that style.
+I am using it to great effect in diamond leauge :D
