Naniwa fans.
I am planning the third and final arc to Naniwa's storybook, sequel to this work.

As you know, Naniwa has been living in Korea for quite some time.
Although he is doing well in Code S, there is a side of him that remains very lonely at times.
The theme of this storybook will be on fan support.
Is Naniwa really alone?
Are foreign fans really just "fair weather fans?"

I am going to need some help.
I am requesting pictures any of you have taken with Naniwa in person/ crowd support/ for this player.
either post here or PM me.

Thanks a lot.

Funny story from DH EIZO open, I was supposed to interview him after SaSe played Genious, but he felt a need to comfort him after the loss (didn't see SaSe again at the event after the loss so he prolly took it quite hard). Anyway, I had heard NaNi talk about "balling" as a protoss. I asked him what it was, and he said that I'd see what it was when SaSe played. Well, after SaSe lost I asked NaNi "he didn't ball, did he?" and Nani just went insane! With a big smile on his face, he grabbed my shoulders, shook me and started screaming "HE FORGOT TO BALL HE DIDN'T BALL OMFGOMFG!!!". Pretty funny, and he seems like a great guy when he's in the right mood. :D

Yes, most foreign fans will root for whoever is doing well. Jinro was a superstar, now when he's not performing so well, you simply don't hear a word about it.

I'm swedish and I've been rooting for naniwa all along, through goods and bads - just like he himself explained.
I root for more people than naniwa this way though

I want to ask, what made you a naniwa fan in the first place.
I would like to believe there is more to your answer than just "he's swedish"

I'd like to answer that aswell.

For me it is his "don't give a crap" attitude. He's like the sheep that doesn't follow the herd and i love that. He has the balls to be different and most of all be honest.

And ofcourse his skills and the way he understands and plays the game. Perfected builds, timings, adaptability and quick response to what happens in the middle of the game. And his forcefields are just insanely good and his. Also his dedication to the game, trying to become the best player out there no matter what. Even getting kicked out from his home by his mother and father because of his determination to become the best.

But i also like him because i know he's a good guy. People who hate on him are just blinded by hate and just put on a blindfold whenever NaNiwa smiles, says something nice or funny and so on.

He's NOT the kind of guy the haters are trying to make him out to be.

And one thing to note. He struggles more when talking english then when he talks swedish. He has a much more easier time to explain himself in his mother language. People should think about this and stop talking about "downs" and "aspbergers" and stuff like that. He's just a normal guy with not so perfect english.

Know him from WC3 primarily, and he made an impressive jump in SC2 from being kind of no one to improving rapidly which opened up my eyes. I do kind of enjoy the attitude though, it's milder than in WC3 where he got banned from some leagues for his BM

I never got a picture with him (which is dumb, because I DID manage to get his autograph), but I DO have a picture of a cheerful that I made for Naniwa at MLG Columbus 2011:

Idk if it's worth anything to your project, but at least it shows that some foreign fans aren't fair weather.

I'm a fan of Naniwa because of :
- human being part: I likes how he doesn't care about waht people think and how he does everything he can to become the best. And I don't know why but I wanna see him win...
-As a player I just love how he plays, how he always has new build which are sooooooooooooo awesome and his awesome army control.
It's good to be back

I really admire Nani for being him self and despite all the hate and shit that often come his way he keep his back straight and doesn't give up. Of all the players I adore Nani is probably the one I hope for most to succeed. I feel like he really deserves it after all the obstacles he has had to overcome. He just never gives up but keep working hard and determined.

I often find myself a even bigger Nani fan when he is bashed by the community for some reason. Not sure why, but I feel most people hate on him for no reason at all, or just because "everyone else" does. Either way, forever Nani fan, in better and worse. Good days and bad days <3

His friendship with SaSe is adorable. It seems very pure and honest which makes me just love them both more. Really hope SaSe will be present in your new storybook neoghaleon55! Very excited to read it

I don't get all this "haters" stuff. Yeah, there are people who dislike him for his attitude and a bunch of them are rude assholes, but then there are those that don't like him but respect his achievements and recognize how much he's changed since he's moved to Korea. It's always easier to focus on the loud people, but Nani by no means is an unpopular player and you guys sound like as if apart from those 10 people posting here regularly, the whole community hated his guts.

Also, I became a huge fan after his probe-rush. That thing needed bigger balls than what most of the pros have added together.
