Sad to see him get knocked out obviously, but AFAIK he's still in NA meaning he was playing with like a seconds lag.

Either way, it's obvious he's trying to renew his playstyle a bit, and parts of it are looking really solid. His drop play was really cool (especially considering how he never used to drop back in WoL), he just seemed to have trouble securing his economy back home while he did it. He also seemed to rely a bit too much on stutter stepping and retreating against Infestor/Ultra instead of taking up a good position and getting in a concave.

Easy for a scrub like me to say, obviously, but clumping up and retreating step by step from a Zerg army doesn't seem to be working as well as vs Protoss.

Dreamhack Valencia up next, then? Does anyone know if he will go there?

In this moment, arguably one of the worst of ThorZaIN's career I would like to be added to this fanclub. I have been a fan since his victory against fruitdealer in TSL3 and now i would like to support him openly. I am sure that he has the skill to bounce back to prominence. Just thought I'd post what Thorzain had to say on twitter:

Glad to hear he's still motivated. It seems like he's got a few things to figure out in his play, but I'll be cheering for him as long as he keeps playing.

Can somebody explain to me where the nickname "T-funk" comes from and what it means? I see quite a few people using it here but I don't understand it.

T-funk was his nickname in the HOTS beta. He streamed quite a lot of beta so he is now associated to that nick.

He made a post in his blog on tv6 (in swedish) where he talked a bit about his recent results (or lack of them) and his mentality towards the game. He mentioned that he is still trying to find some kind of balance where he doesn't put too much pressure on himself and also doesn't become too relaxed to play his best. Pretty interesting read, You could probably understand most of it using google translate if you don't speak swedish.

Oh man.

It's good that he's moving on to do what he wants with his life, of course, but I still feel really sad. He's provided some of the most memorable moments in the history of professional Starcraft, and even if he'll still be playing part-time, It still feels as if the scene has lost something valuable.

Good luck with med school, Marcus. I'll never forget your victory over Polt at Dreamhack. Nor the time you sent me a greeting through my friend followed by almost beating Taeja.
