@NonY: When you tweet something like that, people will always be eager to learn the full story. Especially when it smells like drama. You're better off venting in private. You're not doing yourself or TL a favor here. It's perfectly reasonable to want to learn the full story. I wanted to learn the full story, but I didn't reply to NonY's tweet with a sarcastic remark making fun of him. I waited to see if NonY was going to explain himself through a post of some sort. If he didn't explain then that's his business, he just wanted to vent and Twitter is just as good a place as any to do that. Yeah, this can all be summed up with: Nony: Made the mistake of venting about something he was upset about in a public forum. Diamond: Taunted the upset person because he coud. nony in response to diamond: total meltdown revealing how unbalanced he is right now
I called this guy I work with a bitch all day yesterday for interfering with projects I work on. I've never had a recorded history of depression.
Am I unbalanced?

If I see a celebrity advertise too much then I unfollow. If you don't like what you see just unfollow. so wait, you're saying Nony can't possibly make a mistake by posting on his twitter cuz it's his personal space? so he could post literally anything and it wouldn't be a mistake
Yeah, I don't think that is a valid argument. The comment about the boycot was a mistake, but a reasonable harmless one. The response from Diamond was simply malicious.

But Diamond is a bitch...

I don't think it was malicious. If I saw someone post a vague angry tweet and I didn't want to respond in a way that would feed their cry for attention but still wanted to know what they were angry about I might be inclined to write a sarcastic reply too. More fool them if they want to reply in a completely over the top manner.

And it would make you an asshole. Sometimes in life, the axiom "don't poke the bear" is valid.

I'm glad Nony is Nony and not the reserved e-sports paragon everyone wants -- and Nony is an e-sports paragon.

What? Why would you even say that? o_O
Was that an attempt at a joke? How does this work for you at parties?

Has to be the worst joke i've ever read on TL.

It's disappointing to see such negativity on a day that should have been about other things for us. Anyway, If someone wants to pick a personal fight they can do that through PM, as far as our moderation is concerned that has no place on TL. This includes Tyler, orb, and whoever else has been posting here. Anyone who is going to swing mud after this post is going to get a time-out. Regarding the message about GSL we're looking into that I'll reply more in depth about it later.

We're in the Nony fanclub, so don't come here to blame Nony or argue with him, make a blog or something, Nony is free to whine in his own fanclub.

To be fair, Diamond has made sure that nobody in the mapping community has any sort of leash on him at all outside the rules of this site. He does his own thing (ESV); other than that he distances himself from the mapmaking community, so please don't hold us responsible for him.
It was very silly of him to try to give you shit for not fully explaining a situation on twitter medium, I think we all see that.
BTW I talked to Ragoo and I think he was more upset about the mapmaking community [potentially] losing it's only public voice. A self-interested, dissociated voice.. but a voice nonetheless. But maybe we should distance ourselves from him as he distances himself from us after all.
The map making community is massively respected for all the great maps they produce, I for one don't associate diamond with that community and it is a shame if that is the majority perception among the community.
If I was to offer any advice it would be to not get involved with any of this drama. Maybe find a new outlet for the voice of your community

I <3 both, NonY and Nazgul :-)
Btw.: some of the posts that were made in here, especially form random guys were really stupid. Don't know if its possible but i think cleaning up a bit by deleting some bull that was posted would be great, but as i said before, i don't even know if mods can actually delete posts from others.

Ragoo is a skilled mapmaker, yes, but he has the propensity to say some very stupid things, and as Barrin's already said I would like to extend apologies. Being someone who contributes to the status of mapmaking for StarCraft 2 does not exempt you from faults of idiocy or tactlessness, in fact it's these complete failures of diplomacy that keep killing our chances of promoting community maps(see NASL<>TPW). Every time we've been on the cusp of a breakthrough as a community it's almost always been a stupid comment or disagreement that's killed it, the big exemption being the TLMC. I can only ask that you don't lump us all together - most of us aren't like this.

As an organization we haven't found ourselves to be in agreement with the statements Tyler made about GSL.
I'll explain a little bit of how scheduling usually works. Online tournaments that work with replays give the teams and players a lot of freedom in scheduling matches. This is the case for EGMC, IPLTL, NASL (nowadays) and now for this GSL tournament as well. This is desirable from a player and team perspective so that you can account for conflicting schedules and timezones. Scheduling is an incredibly complicated job and for this reason most teams have a person in their organization who is responsible for this. In our organization that is Robin. He will know the player schedules best, and this way there will be little pressure on the player to take care of something as bothersome as scheduling. Matches have deadlines before which replays have to be sent back, and tournaments are not involved in the scheduling between the two parties.
What happened was more of an internal issue between Robin and Tyler. His match was supposed to be played in the span of a week, something we as an organization, as well Tyler were aware of. Robin normally reaches out to the players proactively to schedule everything. For this match he unfortunately talked to Tyler when there were four days of the week left, and it turned out Tyler was not able to play at all on those dates. We took this to the organizer and informed them that we couldn't play the matches in the timeframe, with a request to play them after, as well as the note that if that wasn't possible we would have to be replaced. After this they opted to replace Tyler with someone else.
It's mostly an unfortunate series of events where a small mistake turned into a bigger issue than it should have been, and we take full responsibility for the situation.

For real, this couldn't be any better of a statement. This whole big argument is more about Tyler vs Diamond than the original problem, Tyler vs GSL. People don't get along. Who cares? Is there really nothing else to talk about?
