I the quality stuff that they gave MC was at least 700$ all together and i do mean AT LEAST, last time I checked that CPU was 900 bux.

That's great and all but isn't it pointless to give progamers this kind of stuff? I mean simply for the fact that MC is a boss nerd who plays Starcraft for a living I imagine he'd already have a sick system set up at home. Besides he lives in a teamhouse where all the latest computer goodies are provided by oGs and their sponsors.

I have to agree.

Oh, and someone mentioned that MC showed a lot of emotion after the finals. Can someone describe it a bit, or maybe post a gif? Not sure if it's appropriate for a fanclub because he's probably angry/sad, but I'm just curious >_< PM it to me if you don't think it's appropriate for his fanclub. I had to go eat lunch but I saw that after the match, Puma walked over to pat MC on the shoulder but MC seemed a bit distressed or out of it and didn't move or respond. It was saddening to see him like that :[ Ah ok. Not a big deal, MC always bounces back from being like that. It must be pretty demoralizing to lose like that, but he's a champion at heart It's most likely because he hasn't won anything in quite a while (I think last tournament was Starswar?) I've been following his tweets, and it seemed like after he got knocked out of August GSL he buckled down and started practicing...which would mean this is his first tournament after hardcore practice. To lose after that is pretty disheartening. I hope he uses that to rationalize his results rather than beating himself up over them.
mmm, sounds like the complete opposite of a winners mentality

Even as a zerg, i have to agree, i mean, watching that game on terminus, mc dealing with the drops perfectly, being 20 supply up at all times, there was no way he should have lost that game

I'm not that idealistic. I applaud a winner's mentality, but I also applaud a dash of realism in it as well. If the metagame is skewed against you, it helps to acknowledge that as a factor rather than just telling yourself that you're bad and didn't practice enough. I'm not saying he shouldn't keep practicing his ass off, because he definitely should. It's just about keeping morale up.

Because this is a fan club, not a balance discussion thread. I would sympathize if there wasn't a thread all the way at the top of SC2 General, called "Designated Balance Discussion."

Also, MC played well. His reactions to 1/1/1 were VERY thoughtful and well planned and done. He was hairs from taking game 3, and I think he just slipped a bit in Game 1 by teching too hard :S
Oh well, who cares about IEM when there is every other tournament to dominate <3

Lol how so? I recall several games he has lost to Puma largely due to positioning. Game 1 from NASL I believe, on Metal where he is significantly ahead on supply and gets carpet EMP'd and his high templar are ot of position. High templar clump and are slow. He got outupgraded. He has to be prepared for drops or they can do a huge amount of damage. He has to account for things like the 1-1-1 which leads to builds he wouldn't want to necessarily go and potential probe cutting. He also has to account for things like 2 rax medivac all in, like he faced from Noblesse ad lost to. If your army gets carpet EMP'd you are in a horrible position, MC has lost multiple games to Puma due to being hit at a bad timing when switching to colossi, some decisions have been slightly questionable from a spectator standpoint, he has to have excellent micro, no other toss does as well as he could and Puma could have been replaced with any other top Korean terran in that game.
I wasn't balance whining, I was sympathizing with how hard he has to play. It's not imbalanced if he does everything I said, it's just extremely hard to pull off.
But yes, grats on second place. It's always sad to see him get less than first though. :/

Well first time he won GSL I believe he bought his mother a car, so maybe his family or someone could deserve a little attention. And even so I think he can enjoy it anyway, if he has it or not .
