Oh, and someone mentioned that MC showed a lot of emotion after the finals. Can someone describe it a bit, or maybe post a gif? It must be pretty demoralizing to lose like that, but he's a champion at heart It was pretty demoralizing to watch those games and then see our champ like that :[

Yeah I'll bet. I didn't even watch them, I just checked the results and my morning got worse

Sorry Bosstoss. We still love you though!

As much as I hate to balance whine, I feel like to beat that sort of punishing opening, protoss must play with perfect or near perfect execution whereas the 1-1-1ing player can execute the build sub-optimally and things will still break just about even. I mean, in game 1, Puma delayed his 1-1-1 push quite a bit by going cloak AND raven and things still looked close after the first engagement. I felt that even if MC had held off that second push, Puma could have just reeled back, take out MC's natural again and rebuild his army for a third push. IMO, the only reason Puma didn't outright destroy MC the first time was that he spent time focusing down the nexus at the natural and MC was able to run in, take shot and fall back to regen shields as well as build up his army.

It must be pretty demoralizing to lose like that, but he's a champion at heart It's most likely because he hasn't won anything in quite a while (I think last tournament was Starswar?) I've been following his tweets, and it seemed like after he got knocked out of August GSL he buckled down and started practicing...which would mean this is his first tournament after hardcore practice. To lose after that is pretty disheartening.
Eh, balance whining aside, statistics in Korea show that Protoss is clearly behind in the metagame right now. I hope he uses that to rationalize his results rather than beating himself up over them.

It's okay MC, all you have to do to win your third GSL title is to always have your army perfectly positioned, never have any high templar clump together whatsoever despite their extremely slow speed and tendency to do so, always make sure to pump out upgrades from double forge despite the risk, always be prepared for drops, account for every possible all-in while still staying even in case he is going for a macro game, make sure your army is in a perfect anti-emp concave and that his ghost count doesn't get high enough to blanket emp anyway, feedback and storm perfectly, have perfect colossi switch timings, make perfect decisions, have godlike micro, etc. Basically do what no other toss can do either to beat one of the 20-30 terrans who can take you out.
edit: whoops is that a balance whine, just saw the thread info at the top. I mean I didn't say anything was imbalanced, just harder.

My thoughts summed up in a block of text. MC Fighting.

He should understand that the way the game is played now definitely tilts things in Terran's favor and that it's not his fault but he should push himself to find a solution rather than grow complacent with the state of things and expect a patch from Blizzard to even things up. The thing I love about MC is that he takes everything as a challenge and this should be no different.

Where can I watch MC vs Puma in IEM?

that was disgusting to see, how can blizzard allow that when there is money on the line...

Because their money is on the line too.

All he has to do is get back into Code S and just bear out this temporary storm. His control and macro are still possibly the best in the world.

Glad to see we're being consistent with the Idra Fanclub. Kinda telltale of what happened in the thread compared to how it's usually handled.

Also, I think Puma made a bit more:
MC: $3400 + $3300 = $6700 Puma: $300 + 6500 = $6800
