I think TL's requirements are that we need to clone him 4 times and enter him into a teamleague. Any scientists out there :p

You have my undying support IdrA. I`ve been a fan for years and I ain`t ready to back down! Stay strong and know that you have earned more fans through your honesty and dedication than most of these hypocrites white-knighting you ever will. Know that there are tons of people like me who respect you and don`t take the things you sometimes say so goddamn personal. We know you`re a decent guy and we`ll keep on cheering for you! Thank you for staying true to who you are.

i hope idra releases a statement saying something like...
"to all the people saying i need to manner up and act more professional -- guess what? i'm going to say and do whatever i want because, honestly, i don't give a fuck about what you think."
the resulting war between fans and anti-fans would rip apart the internet -- making idra the most famous and badass sc2 player of all time.
edit: oh wait he might already be.

Idra, stay strong!
I really liked it when I learned you like cooking from InControl. Would be awesome if you would record a video of you making some delicious meal. :D

Thank you Idra for pulling me into SC2, i will be forever grateful for that.
Good luck in whatever You'll choose to do, I hope You'll stay with us, and get to the top again, everyone knows You can.

Yeah, Source on that, player salaries are pretty obscure so I would love to know where the 96k figure is from.

Man this sucks ass. Having mulled it over for a bit, I still think it's a cop out by EG, but then we don't know how this went down internally. I just hope he can somehow use this. It's always darkest before the dawn and such. SC2 needs a Gracken. I bloody need a Gracken. Stay strong man.

On May 11 2013 03:03 Chinesewonder wrote: Anyone know what about the game Idra doesn't like? Balance? Or that it just wasn't fun overall? Game design more than anything. The "this unit counters this unit hard" is aggravating compared to BW which had unit counters but they were more like "if you have X unit and you micro your ass off you will win vs even number of Y unit". Then the changes to damage types and efficient attacks (like marines will do exact damage to kill something then go to next) and de-emphasis on positional play (shooting up a hill in sc1 made your units miss like 40% or something). This all combined with the "ball" of units that is practically unavoidable makes sc2 less mechanically challenging to win and more emphasis on strategy. Not to say bw didn't ahve strategy and sc2 doesn't have mechanic necessity. it's just that you can 6 pool your way to masters or even GM whereas playing macro "Standard" is much much harder than 6 pool.
This translates to him being mad when someone is able to use a build that doesn't require as much "skill" and relies more on chance or gimmicks to win to beat the "Safe" standard play he gets annoyed. I don't think it is nearly as prevalent now as it was in like 2010 and 2011 so the game is doing better but still. Then the counter thing really comes into play when you ahve banelings, WM, and Colossi (examples) that become rediculously cost efficient with not as much effort. The unit to look at atm is the WM that can be burrowed somewhere and forgotten (75/25 1f is pretty cheap) and wreak, whereas the counter play to it is running small batches of lings into it or w/e.
This goes to another point. The balance of SC2 is always going to be a little off; This wasn't so much of a problem in BW because you could diminish the effects of early cheese and aspects of races that were deemed OP by changing the map size. In SC2 a number of changes like saturation numbers and the power of late game units makes this harder if not impossible in SC2. As an example of this, it feels like most pros don't like maps with easy to take 4ths because it promotes passive 200 deathball protoss armies. 3 base is fairly optimal for terran because the race prefers smaller skirmish type battles and the 5/6th gases are not really needed. These are just some examples of balance/game design problems someone like IdrA might have, and they might be wrong, after all this is based on my perception.

EG changing rosters left and right. + alive, oz - LZgamer, Puma, Idra
And that's just in the last two months. Previously, in like the last year.
+JYP, Huk, Thorzain, Stephano, JD, revival -strifecro, Axslav
Maybe Naniwa will start a team with Idra, (maybe nony), white-ra, Rmdx, Ruff, Puma, and Grubby.
