This didn't seem sarcastic to me...

My butthurt rant about how sad I am to find myself not giving a shit at all about my once favorite player.
+ Show Spoiler +I've been a long time fan of IdrA. I stayed up late to watch his GSL games, constantly watched his stream, he was my absolute favorite player. Just look back on my post history and most of it is in the IdrA fan club. I ignored the ragequits and the bad attitude because I thought he was working on it. However, over time it became more and more evident that he really didn't give a shit. He had a piss-poor attitude about everything and every time we heard about "the new idra" it was just a sham. He Refuses to play his own teammate (Demuslim) on ladder, refuses to change his playstyle, refuses to stop quitting games he's not even losing at all. He comes off as a spoiled man child.
IdrA is the person who got me into this game, I loved his mechanics/macro oriented playstyle and he used to be honestly one of the very best in the world. Not even the best foreigner he was one of the very best players period. This makes it all the more painful for me to watch him repeat the same stupid bullshit over and over and over again. Now its evident that he also has zero respect for his fans as well, despite them sticking by him through all his idiocy. Well, forget you IdrA. I used to defend you so much but now I can't do anymore. I guess all the haters were right and you're just a stupid butthurt child. How can anyone support you if you don't even try and actively dislike the entire community that makes your job possible?

I remember in the ladder when he took on MVP I think it was right after he won GSL. He won, he was the foreign hope. I think that is what made him really stand above the rest, but he seems to feel it has more to do with his attitude and less to do with his performance/passion about being the best. Well, we'll see. Now will be a good test if he streams although I also have a feeling he might not even stream for a long while.

That is just how I feel... I have been a long time fan. I really love the fight in this Idra. But it seems like the fight is all gone... I dont know. I just care soo much about the game still ... I can't ... well you said it doodz.

I used to defend IdrA as much as anybody, but I really don't get any joy from watching him play anymore, because it's pretty obvious his heart's not in it. He's been given plenty of chances.
He's a great analyst and caster though, wouldn't mind seeing that. But Demuslim and Suppy are the EG players I really enjoy watching these days.

A lot of young comedians set themselves up to not try as hard, for instance half-improving a set on stage — so if they fail, they can pretend they weren't really trying or don't care anyways.
I still think IdrA privately cares, but pretends not to give a shit when he fails as a defense mechanism. It's something a lot of young people do, but it's a routine that's getting old.

Pretty much how I feel aswell. I recall staying up until 5am to watch his games, since I'm from Europe, whilst having a test the following morning.
He was the first actual player that I layed eyes on before joining the community. He's the reason why I play Zerg. It just seemed like the most challenging and skill instensive race at the time, so I went with that, and I do love it. His mentallity of never cheesing got me through silver to masters in eight months, rather smoothly, I like the learning process. At this point I pretty much demolish my master friends with just superior macro. Idra used to be a person I looked up to. He's incredibly smart, honest and hardworking. I've defended him through so much already. Every single one of my friends aren't big fans of him, but I stuck by him for so long. Always turn off add block for him, even bought a Steelseries Sensei and messaged Steelseries to support him. I just can't take it anymore..
The game I stayed up until 5am was the one he 6 pooled, twice.
Edit: So yeah, i supose this'll probably be the last time I'll be posting this here. I really don't regret suporting him whatsoever. I just can't handle it anymore.

if you want to leave/stop supporting idra, you can do so without posting a long post about why you are leaving/not supporting, what's the point? No one forced you to like/support idra, no one asked you to keep liking him when his results were down, you have no one to blame but yourself. Stop ranting and leave in peace, give some respect to the person who gave you something to made you a fan and own you nothing

Use to have a ton of respect for the guy :\

but where should a discussion like this really be happening? If we want to express our disappointment? Surely any thread would be closed and redirected to here ..

IdrA is a really good player, could have taken down Polt but seems like he didnt know he was so ahead... and turtled instead of attacking.. about the game against Revival i feel like IdrA played like on the ladder and he streams all day long to get money so Revival probably knew exactly what to do.
he managed to squeeze a drones lead in both games and had more lings to support the mutalisks, I dont know if IdrA actually was prepared for the ZvZ, beside game #1 against polt, i felt like the other game were the kind of game he would play on the ladder... i dont know what happened... maybe he got discouraged, i dont know,
anyway I think IdrA need to change his preparation approach, because its doesnt seems to work, playing a lot of hour is great but maybe there is something else that need to be done to prepare better for next time.

It's something a lot of young people do, but it's a routine that's getting old. the fact that he isn't performing is fine, but what he said is the real nail in the coffin for me being a idra supporter.
hopefully his attitude changes or else i dont see idra playing for much longer.

He didn't leave a huge amount of games at 200/200 though.

That seemed really self destructive, more than insulting. I could tell Idra was dealing with the stress of WCS poorly before that. I don't think he hates his fans. I think he don't know how to deal with the pressure, and is so aware of it he sets himself up to fail.
It's most like he wants his back to the wall,. But he need a coach, that is for sure
