it's this: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/hot.php
I have it as my home page, I don't get spoiled by the front page and have access to the best threads.

How did he lose to ClouD? Can I get a recap plz? ty!

Dont know about retire, but i sure hope he would change team. Being in a smaller team with less income would rise his motivation.

less money means more motivation? u probably never worked in your life

Not that I agree with his logic, because I don't think it'd make a difference in the case of Idra, but that's the point he's trying to make.

I didnt meant that exactly. Now it feels like he just playing for money and salary. With less income he might found his motivation again and play because he likes the game, not because his contract forces him to play.

but he doesnt really like the game, i think. edit: in its current state. dunno if that will change with fixes/hots/whatever..

I was thinking...
And IdrA did really well against Oz and NesTea at MLG Winter, because he had spent the past few months on Korea and had adapted to their playstyles, then he goes to IEM and loses badly to the foreigners but beats SuperNova pretty convincingly, so I think he just needs some time to settle back into routine and adapt back to foreigner playstyle.
|
Edit: Sorry didn't mean to post here.

Korean and foreigner playstyle being different is a myth. They do everything the same way but the koreans do it a bit better. I doubt you can read anything out of his IEM performance. Besides maybe that without pressure he plays better (beating SuperNova when it does not matter) but that is really not how I think of Idra´s character, so...

If I remember correctly
Idra played the best games of his life in broodwar when he told that he was off the team if he lost again (Was a tournament I think) Idra got out of his slump and won in a dominating fashion and continued that.
His momentum really got broken at the beginning of sc2 when he dominated everyone but lost to so many tailored and heavy harrass builds. 5 rax reaper, blue flame hellion drop all comes to mind So many sad stories with idra
|
idra has been really experimental lately. he just need to get more feel for each build before he uses them in a tourney. he just isn't comfortable using different strats in tourney games.
|
anyone else doesnt like pre-recorded matches? it feels wrong, somehow. not up to date, for example
|
Well, this sort of pressure might work short term but it is more likely to be detrimental for his development in the long run as it crumbles your mind. I feel there are 2 crucial problems with Idra atm. 1. He doesn`t seem hungry for success (probably because he is in no way reliant on winning price money with assumingly being one of the highest paid foreigners and /commercial on twitch and the rockstar bonus that he currently gets). 2. While he is still impressively clean with his mechanics most of his competitors have caught up in this area. At the early stages of Sc2 he would win a majority of his games just because he could produce more stuff but that isn`t neccessarily the case atm. Apart from that he is very susceptible to mindgames. I do not think that there is an easy solution how he should overcome his slump, but maybe playing more smallish cups where he could regain some of his confidence and from then on he should aim for larger goals.

reading psychological analysis on idra is boring ._.

Why is it boring? Would you rather read only "he will win next time " comments?

its always the same, and none of us has any qualification in those things beyond speculation. but at least its better than balance discussions or stupid morons coming here bashing him in his own fanclub
as we are there already: i think he easily gets off course. wont go any further

Can anyone give a recap of Idra vs Cloud? Can't believe he lost that one...
|
Maybe he just reached his max. Maybe we are expecting results that are simply out of his range for now. He had his golden age, and now it ended, all things come to an end. There are some things, that man, simply can't do. It seems like, in his current state, and Idra can deal with medicore players on equal terms, and from time to time, he can do something execeptional, like win against Supernova, take game from Oz, and that is it. Peace.
