It's not that he has just been putting up bad results, it's that he is being totally dominated in his matches. I want to see Idra do well. I'm sick of all the bad series he has been showing lately.

I sincerely hope Idra proves me, and all the other haters, wrong by doing well at MLG this weekend. Redemption time son!

Nice interview. Does it seem like Idra doesn't fear lategame ZvP anymore? He mostly talked about how good P was at forcefield, and how good Z is at avoiding vortex.
|
Reading his description of zvp brings a question to my head that I've been wondering for a while: Is there -any- pro who actually says they like zvp? It seems to be complained about continually from both sides.
|
Thank you so much! Great read, answers some queions too.
You guys picked great questions for the interview, kudos!

Lol I feel so gosu. his thoughts on zvp resemble the ones i've been having after laddering a lot. 2 base all ins are incredibly strong (borderline OP), sentry force fields are game changers and if you survive the 2 base all in with map control, generally give by the muta cloud, you can mad expand the P can't do shit about it.

he said its all about how good a protoss is at placing forcefields and how good the zerg is at dodging vortexs not that hes good at either
i dunno if he ever feared late game ZvP i think his problem is all about the mid game timings that can be so hard to stop

I believe Ret is pretty good at zvp

His best and favorite matchup. He avoids the BL/Infestor vs. Vortex through extremly splitting his forces.

Really, the only pros that like ZvP are the ones that have a playstyle that toss has yet to figure out or have played against players that just are not comfortable with ZvP. Playing against a good toss as zerg is not remotely fun, its pretty much like juggling knives, and sometimes one of the knives decides to just randomly land in your head. Its just as bad for toss though, don't get the impression that I think ZvP is super skewed towards the toss

Sheth always says he's confident in his ZvP, including his latest interview after the all-kill.
|
The people that are confident in their ZvP are the people who I don't think have particularly special ZvP. The best ZvP players in the world are actually the whiners (on the most part).
Outside of Korea, I don't think any of the Protoss players know how to transition to a 3rd after a timing attack. They just allow the Zerg to bust them with roach ling, or tech freely to infestor broodlord.

I think Ret said in Sao Paulo he don't like ZvP, or something like that.
