link to the games on the previous page. i just had time to watch them all, they were actually pretty good games.

1.) Natural could almost be walled off like shakuras plateau, 3 bunkers = gg
2.) early 3rd and delayed siege with a marine + hellion push. idra went for muta + engagement that couldn't kill marines despite a really nice flank = gg
3.) blind roach rushh idra ahead. couldn't connect with banelings in engagement= gg
4.) hellions killed 16 drones early game, follow up push = gg

1.)nice games, game 1 was pretty hard, proxy 2 rax on that map is very strong.
2.) a ling/bling bust off 3 hatch wouldve worked, but on daybreak it is pretty hard to look through the entire terran main to realise siege mode hasn't been reseaached yet is difficult. the flank was nice but blings must spread out from tanks like marines from banelings.
3.) roach rush semi-all-in was reckless and just when idra "feels like" cheesing. banelings couldn't connect in large engagement.
4.) hellions on daybreak is great, and idra wasn't prepared for an immediate push after initial hellion harasses(he was slightly behind taeja in that game) due to difficulty in getting lings all the way around the map to see such a push.

Idra went Muta/bling/ling too often and was out-macroed. No need to watch the VODS, they are not worth it.

I wouldn't worry about Idra too much. Nani and Huk took a long time in Korea to even be relevant again. Idra's play against Taeja would have dominated every foreigner. Taeja was just on top of things. I also feel Idra left a few games too early. You can always win games when you have 180 supply.

I'm sure that someone can help me with this.
I remember that there was a video played by gom.tv when IdrA left Korea. From the comments this video must have been hilarious, but i've never actually seen it, so if if anybody has got a link that doesn't require gom.tv subscription i'd be very grateful and might even show a tear of joy.

Can't agree with this. His play hardly degraded as play went on. If anything, it got slightly better after game 1, then leveled off. He's obviously holding back because he has GSL matches to play really soon. IdrA is a master of TvZ...... no master goes ling/bane/muta EVERY game for 4 straight games. The one curveball was a roach bust.....that became ling/bane/muta. That said, Taeja is an awesome player, and plenty capable of stomping on IdrA if he is just going to do the same 2 base muta over and over again.

When has Idra ever deviated from his muta style in ZvT?

Stop making excuses.

Nobody is making excuses. IdrA has always favored that style. I never said that he didn't. But when it isn't working, you change styles. IF he has a style that he has been working on besides the 2 base muta opening, he's not going to show it in some stupid show match. He'd be retarded to show his hand to the world by playing ANY other style besides his standard. The fact that the games were shit was just a sad side effect.

Looked like 4 Build-orderwins tbh. 1st game was 11+12 rax vs 15 hatch 16 gas+pool. All the other games were command center first versus hatch first, the only time IdrA actually had a substantial lead in workers were when he tried to roachbust, and even then he kept the lead too short a time for it to really kick in (mules kinda rock).

Taeja showed a very resilient style in all games, I think if he had 10-pooled in games 2-4 he would have won all of them (if Taeja did exactly the same build, but IdrA 10-pooled), but that's just plainly shut down by a standard barracks wall-in timing....

Hey smart people who don't just blindly listen to the commentators what do you think is idrAs problem here? Has he fallen off mechanically, or is it that korean just have better general desicion making and just pick better strategies or what? It seems dumb that now when he's playing prolly 12+h (i guess?) per day or something he looses to players he could've beat when he played 3h per day.

It was just idra not giving a shit - You can see macro wise and micro wise it was shitty, he didn't position for engagements or even spent is money good. He played shittier then ever. Idra just didn't give a fuck

True idra will show in gsl :D

In this series I think that he misread Taeja. He went 2 base muta with +1 melee and baneling speed (safest build ever vT), but Taeja went macro and so he always took his third before IdrA. If the terran gets the 3rd before you, you know you have lost. Not if you trade army with efficience but that was not the case, his engagements were terrible in general.

Overall his micro seemed particularly bad this series. For example blowing banes on thors/tanks, and sending mutas in before the lings/banes so marines tore them to pieces.

He rushed the engagement during the 3rd game when he really didn't have to, Taejas tanks weren't even firing onto his hatch and he rushed in. IIRC he had his GSpire either finished or close to finishing, I really feel like he could of stalled his engagement and waited for broods.

He hardly did any damage at all with his mutas. Sure they helped him with drop control and keeping Taeja contained, but he hardly accomplished any harass.

Seemed to be a little bit slower than normal on the 3rd, and like normal he was behind the T on upgrades.

It certainly could have gone better and I hope in the future we can see some nice games.

I feel like if IdrA had played someone that series who wasn't as good at ZvT as Taeja, he would have won. IdrA usually pulls ahead in his games through his rediculous muta harassment, but if you looked at how Taeja set up his bases, it was COMPLETELY safe. There was not one spot that IdrA could have flown in and just sniped stuff and gotten out without significant losses. MVP has this same style; smart placement of turrets, along with a group of marines to run around and reinforce any spots that are being attacked. It essentially nullifies mutas, which are a staple of IdrA's ZvT.
