I hope this wasn't played recently. I realize it will take a lot of time for the practice to shine, but this was really disappointing.

It was played around three days ago according to what I heard on the cast.

Taeja is really really good. Glad Idra is trying to use burrow, but he just couldn't get any map presence with mutas. If Terran gets upgrades early enough, the mutas just don't seem very effective. Idra should learn some ling bling muta 2 base timings to punish marines wandering around on the map and to punish late tanks.

Edit: people that just say 'lol get infestors' don't understand how useless a low number of them can be vs a splitting Terran. Taeja was on 3 base and not 5 for a reason, and that's because idra didn't go infestors.

saturday and yesterday were when the games were played

you'd have to be an idiot to say that that was idra playing his best.
He was obviously holding back/wasnt playing well for some reason so its ok

not to take anything away from taeja though, he played really really well

Not gonna lie, IdrA got completely dominated

Hoping that the Korean practice begins to kick in soon though, would make him pretty scary

Was that was brutal -_-

IdrA never really does well in these show matches. 0-4 to Tyler, 2-4 to Jinro, now 0-4 to Taeja. Hope this doesn't demoralize him though.

It just seems like Korean terrans have figured out ye olde 2base muta / ling / bling...I hope being in SlayerS helps IdrA diversify his builds.

Can't agree with this. His play hardly degraded as play went on. If anything, it got slightly better after game 1, then leveled off. He's obviously holding back because he has GSL matches to play really soon. IdrA is a master of TvZ...... no master goes ling/bane/muta EVERY game for 4 straight games. The one curveball was a roach bust.....that became ling/bane/muta. That said, Taeja is an awesome player, and plenty capable of stomping on IdrA if he is just going to do the same 2 base muta over and over again.

When has Idra ever deviated from his muta style in ZvT?

Stop making excuses.

Does no one else find it slightly depressing that Idras TvZ has seen basically no change in a couple of months? He literally, almost 100% of the time, does this 2 base muta ling which he himself knows can get hard countered by timings(Beating Puma 3-0, Puma figures the strategy out, Puma 3-0's idra). Honestly the only real difference I have seen in his play while in slayers was an increased use of burrowed banelings.

As a long time Idra fan who only stopped being a lurk out of anger at this match, I must say I am starting to lose faith.

Also, all the people making excuses that he is hiding strategies, his code A bracket contains 2 protoss and a zerg...so that argument makes no sense.

Idra played all of those games really well.
His mechanics and timings were amazing, but he just did Ling / Bling / Muta everytime, so in every engagement Taeja just splits his marines astonishingly and wipes out IdrAs army very cost efficiently.
Idra never even lost to any kind of timing attacks since his own timings were so spot on with him always being capable of defending them.

-I get the feeling either IdrA doesnt want to show what his style is going to be in the upcoming GSL matches or the metagame is shifting away from Ling / baneling because terrans are becoming way too good at splitting their infantry. Ofcourse infestors can lock down the bio forces for banelings to finish them off but on all 4 games, IdrAs army composition was futile despite his excellent play. =(

Oh well, hoping for idra to smash his way through code A.

you are wrong he engaged on silly locations without creep. he wasted banelings on the thors instead of marines. basicly he couldnt connect with banelings. also he lost way too many units before the big fight. i have a feeling he just doesn't care about his zerglings 2 much and at such hi level of play every ling matters. why scout with 10 lings ? what's the logic he got splash damaged by tanks and raped by marines. you scout with 1 or 2 lings max not a whole bunch. also he still needs to improve on hellion defense - losing 16 drones in one of the games is just too much. the games today were decided at the very beginning and every time taeja came with an advantage whether it was harass or opening. it's those little advantages that snowball and win you the game.

Yah, don't waste your time. The games were pretty bad and one sided. Idra still is not in his best form these days. Hopefully the continual training in Korea will improve him.

I dont understand all this talk about "figuring out" his two base muta builds... Sure it would be nice for IdrA to use different strategies, but there is nothing WRONG using the build. Why dont we harp on all the players reactor hellion expand we dont say THATS FIGURED OUT LOLOLOLOL. Lets just support IdrA and wish him teh best. GOGO IDRA
