I imagine If you got 3:0d by someone 2 monhts ago, train really hard and face him again you are looking for a payback. You want little gains as soon as possible in the game to boost ur confidence. First micro battle didnt go good for him, but still it was ok. Then, IdrA got all he needed to stop those 12 lings and 4 banelings : 2 queens, a spine covering ramp and a bunch of lings (without speed though) and he messed it up badly. In his position i'll be really mad at myself too.
all I hope he goes to Korea with a positive mindset and he will do good. If theres IdrA streaming there's no other live stream i watch! gl

He realized that he was probably not going to advance and 2. after playing that long he was probably tired as hell. People who say he has given up are deluding themselves. Have you even SEEN the effort he is putting into this game right now? 8 hours of practice a DAY, and when people are saying that he has given up when he rage quits or gets frustrated, that is just bullshit. When he gets frustrated, its because he cares about Starcraft. You don't get frustrated over something you don't care about. I feel that when he goes to Korea, is surrounded by the best in the world, and is putting in the effort he is putting in now, something is gonna happen.
My 2 cents. This should get some light. As I feel it's correct. He went into the tournament to gauge his skill. Koreans show up might as well gauge it against some Code B Koreans as well. Nerchio has the best ZvZ outside Korea, I'm sure Idra knows that. He played the first game to gauge his chances, get an idea of where his ZvZ is. He got destroyed. What do you do to beat someone who's vastly superior than you? You Cheese. Doesn't look good if the guy who is adamantly against cheese, cheeses a whole series. I'm not justifying it, or his mindset I'm just saying I can follow the logic especially of someone so commited against cheese, to become that what he hates most. Maybe he could of attempted to play out a legit series but Idra plays to win every game and the best chance to win in that situation must of been to cheese. Maybe I have it wrong but like the guy above said, my 2 cents. What i don't understand is why he just couldn't play the remaining games against Nericho and just treat them as regular ladder games? At least then he loses without the hassle of a walkover and saves face for both himself, his teams and the tournament. Apologists seem to find the weirdest excuses to defend their hero. Because he didn't want to. He doesn't care about "face", and if his team cares, they will tell him, it's not your concern. It is also TL's concern if they want to warn him about it or not, again, not randoms on forums.
How is not his, or anyones concern? I think quite the opposite is true. Me, and many other people, want him to do well and see him play games. When his entire job is to provide entertainment and he doesn't even preform then it becomes a concern for everyone, especially the fans who provide him and his team with support. Also, we are not randoms on the forum. We support Idra with watching his stream, cheering him on, and coming out to see him play. If it wasnt for us there would be no Idra playing SC.

Idra has said he solely streams to provide entertainment to his fans. He spent several hours of his day on that tournament. He could've just not played in it, providing absolutely no entertainment for his fans. Think about that. And don't give that bullshit about if it wasn't for you guys Idra would not be playing SC. He's not playing for you guys, he's playing cause he loves the game.
And for the record, what you said is basically a random on the forum...
ps Idra dresses like a total baller

the reason why he didn't play a 2nd game vs nerchio was becuz he knew exactly how everyone would trash talk this up if he would have lost 2:0. everyone on the forums would give nerchio so much credit and in the same sentence say: "wow this idra guy is so bad! bla fucking bla"
nerchio plays a rly bs style. he goes for pool first even when he could easialy go hatch1st since he sees everything idra does with his overlord, but his strategy was to get early map control with speedling to keep his opponent in the dark and be able make an early cheesy attack with 4 banelings or something in that fassion which idra cannot scout with lings, just guess. if he would sacrifice an overlord he would have a disadvantage if nerchio just droned up hardcore. if he would have made roaches just to defend an unexpected cheese attack, he would've fallen behind also. nerchios attack was very risky, if he would have lost all his stuff without killing drones he would have lost the game in the long run cuz he would have a strong disadvantage going into the late game wasting so many resources. nerchio has no reason to assume idra wouldnt hold it, i dont get why he did this attack, and idra didnt either. in that sence it was random and gay. a very stupid style to play zvz and flip coins much. (banelings also came in too fast to position both queens.)
idra didnt want to play a 2nd game getting retard coinflipped in the face by that kid and also he forfeit to say "fuck you!" to all the haters and the ppl who would talk him down and take stuff away from him. his zvz isnt bad rofl, what are you guys even talking about.
and yes, he's the foreigner with the best talent. sc2 is just so random that i can understand that everyone falls apart at some point. just watch him rise from the ashes that haters and pissed off fans create, to wittness the rebirth of the best foreigner of all time
my 2 cents also. sry for terrible english

my 2 cents also. sry for terrible english Its crazy how you rationalize things. Its pretty simple, Idra stopped mining gas. You cant have just lings without some sort of tech (roach or bane).

When nerchio plays a coinflip zvz i'd say he's good at cheating coinflips.

I think korea with huk will be a good thing for idra because huk is always good to provoke people. That will be all the motivation Idra needs.

sign me up, no more early ggs idra >.< u can win cause ur 10x better usually

So wait, more importantly than anything else, was that a real face in that pic or was it a photoshop? Is the jury still out on that?
So hard to tell these days with you kids and your Dan Fogelberg, and hula-hoops, and Pac-Man-video-games.

You cant have just lings without some sort of tech (roach or bane). you guys are way overanalyzing rage. have you ever raged hard..? i'm willing to bet there are two factors that led to the forfeit, if not only one:
1) he was mad enough to do it 2) it was easier to do because of any remaining resentment towards TL for their 6mo ban on him/anything else he may dislike.
