I was really into TVXQ's album when I first heard it and it has the most songs in my playlist (5) out of all the albums... But I do have 4 out of 6 of the songs from Rainbow's album actually after I revisited it recently. That one went under the radar. If I can I'll cheat and give Rise as God album of the year and Innocent EP of the year. | ||

I randomly found Mogavi, main vocal is quite good. Even managed to get into a project album with Ali and Brian Joo. Granted it's a WE LOVES DAT DERE JESUS album, but still, Ali and Brian Joo, that's really something to have your name tacked alongside. I know full well she's not Sparta, but I think she did the track justice, it feels just as tender and hopelessly in love as it should. + Show Spoiler [Raina's 모르겠다] + Does the vibrato give me undesirable flashbacks to MBLAQ doing ninja cloning techniques? Yes. Does that detract from the song? Mostly no. Just a nice, soothing three minutes and change of delicious Rape Squirrel. What more could anyone ask for? 볼래 with Jakop, Wu No, and Dayday was pretty swinging as well. + Show Spoiler [Min Chae's 마음이] + Min Chae. That's all that needs saying. + Show Spoiler [Runners up:] + Kisum, frankly everything that came out of her this year, hell any given year, was golden. PHRASING. I'm not able to choose a definitive one out of the batch. Same goes for Mamamoo. 히히하헤호 is some damn good times. Stephanie's, of CSJH, of Prisoner was a nice romp into some legit retro times. Can almost imagine what it was like for people at ground zero when the drums of The Ronettes' Be My Baby first made impact. Also dug Blackout, just a nicely textured and grimy synth track, almost as murky as Rania's Dr. Feel Good. Could have done without the vocalizations though. Zion.T and Crush's 그냥, that moist maker. Every Single Day's single for Going Down, loved the triphop remix of the Golden Time ost track. EPs of the year OhMyGirl's Closer, just a nice fun little romp, and it's got dat dance hall horn sound. Lalasweet's 계절의 空, soothing and blissful reminder of why the two of them are just damn awesome. Navi's Real Story, dat Navi tho. Albums of the year + Show Spoiler [Verbal Jint x Sanchez's 여자.] + A callback to Prince, The Artist Formerly Known as Prince, The Artist Formerly Known as The Artist Formerly Known as Prince? Check. Bumkey being not-guilty of drug charges? Check Baby making music feature LE? Check Fucking hell, this is an amazing album! I've stare dumbfounded when current netizens talk about a predebut variety appearances of Hani that was months since Who'z That Girl. It has drove home one simple truth that people seem too damn dense to understand. Unlike an SM or YG group, seriously JYP where the fuck you at m8?, most idol groups don't have the luxury of having an instantaneous cushion of fans numbering in the hundreds of thousands that will buy the shit out of their albums and spam random Korean entertainment SNS accounts with how much they love their group, how much they love when soshitmember #5 stood within arm reach of their group member, how much they like GDragon's abs, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH TAO, how much they're going to ass stab you for looking at their oppa ad nausea. Most people have to play safe, because they're likely to stumble off a very shitty, dark, unforgiving cliff. Really, the only thing I can be disappointed with is 두근두근. Thank gods for Bravesound and Duble Sidekick. Performances of the year: Geeks with Mamamoo's Wheein pitching in for Lena Park on YHY. Boa's reign over Masked Singer.
