If JYP and the rest of the Wonder Girls aren't rising up in arms and blasting Sunye for this decision, why the heck does anyone else care? It's so stupid to take offense on behalf of other people when they're not even offended in the first place. The fact that there's been no backlash from JYP or anyone else actually affected by this decision shows that everyone is on board and supportive of this decision.

As for all the posts in this thread for the past few pages denouncing Sunye for this decision based on little to no actual knowledge or understanding of what's going on and way too much on pure speculation and assumption, good job for sounding like the average misinformed and ridiculous kpop fan you find commenting on sites like Allkpop. I would say that it was disappointing, but it wasn't really.

edit: Sorry to derail further but it's the sort of thing that bugs me. Really excited about the Yoonji comeback, she deserves much more attention than she gets in Korea.

i have to agree with a lot of people and say sunyes decision is incredibly selfish. putting the wg and her baby aside, haiti doesnt need religious aid atm. if her and her husband are actually able to provide food, medical and financial aid to people there somehow, then shes doing a good thing. but if as people are suspecting, she has no skills nor knowledge on how to help the people there, it is incredibly naive and selfish. shes basically saying that it doesnt matter how shit your life is right now, im going to tell you about god so that when you believe me you will be saved. this is personally why i hate missionaries (ive worked with them for at least half a year and am surrounded by more in my day to day life). they have no respect for what others believe and the choices they make. if you dont believe that jesus is your savior, you are misinformed or still delusional and will try and make you follow their way forever. rather than trying to rectify the situation with materialistic things, they force their ideas onto people and try to say that it doesnt matter if your life is shit now, cause when you die youll go to heaven.
in my personal view that is incredibly selfish to the point where its morally wrong

this is so laughably self righteous.

I feel it was more like a reaction to her ridiculously optimistic soliloquy about lending personal assistance to a disaster zone because she felt that she didn't do 'her duty' in a religious context
can you even grasp how ridiculous her statement sounds?

I mean I put it in a rather scathing, exaggerated connotation but given her awful press release, how do you think a ~~jaded audience~~ everyone is going to respond?

Anyhow it's great that she wants to help people but I still think it's incredibly irresponsible of her to do something like this.
I feel if she really wanted to help she would've donated any of her idol proceeds to fund a microlending company or fund a carpentry program that would help the unemployed in Haiti build homes. This is stuff that actually makes sense for all parties involved and it's ideas I spewed out in the last 10 seconds.
I simply cannot see her random NGO make a lasting impact when countless of others have failed.
