I won't say she's selfish, because she is trying, but her overconfidence in her faith is just blinding this woman... Classic, "First of all, I'd like to start by thanking God" kind of person...

It's about renewing her contract with JYP and then do a 180 and just saying fuck that contract I'm gonna do something else on the other side of the planet for 5 fucking years. What about the other WG members who maybe had plans to comeback when she renewed.. If she wanted to be a normal person she shouldn't have renewed the contract. It is selfish and she is only thinking about herself and not the other members.

It dosent really matter what she goes and does there, it is selfless if you think about the kind of life she is leaving behind, and her motives dont matter either, whether its God, humanity etc. Bottom line is she is leaving behind money, fame, friends and south korea for fucking haiti. How many of us would do this? and here you have a fucking celebrity willing to give it all up, and you guys are calling that selfish... This is as selfless as it gets and I give two fucks about the wonder girls, did Sohee care about the others when she fucking bailed?? Like I get that if she broke this 5 year contract, and joined another agency and went to pursue her own career can be considered as selfish but she is not doing that she is fucking going to Haiti. Was Dave Chappele selfish when he left during production of the chappelle show and with it millions of dollars to go to fucking Africa?? I see that for some of you it is about blowing of 3 korean girls who are pretty well of all things considered..sooo ye fuck the contract, fuck JYP, fuck the wonder girls, fuck the wonderfuls and anyone who labels someone as selfish over leaving behind a privileged idol life to go live in fucking Haiti for 5 years.

Whether or not it's morally justified to screw over the other members of WG, renege on a contract she basically just made and had every opportunity not to make, or force a newborn to live in the squalid conditions of haiti are all separate concerns to that. I would argue that it's an extraordinarily selfish move to make for the latter reason alone: you don't take a goddamn newborn and raise it in Haiti. But regardless, she had every opportunity to make this decision without negatively impacting WG members and didn't. It sounds very much like she's trying to wriggle out of her contract and likely won't stay in Haiti anywhere near the stated length of time. There's also something to be said about going to a place like Haiti to "help," while having absolutely no worthwhile skills to do so. You're essentially dead weight until you can be trained to do basic tasks, which means if this is a farce to get out of the contract like it seems then it's that much worse. This is not an altruistic decision.

Was Dave Chappele selfish when he left during production of the chappelle show and with it millions of dollars to go to fucking Africa?? yes, it was unprofessional as fuck and selfish as hell. you know how many people depended on that show to make a living? your actions affect everyone else, especially when you're wealthy/affluent/famous. I mean it's great that he 'found himself' or whatever but when you handle things like this you're supposed to do it in a clean break and prepared manner. I feel like kids are so idealistic about shit like this that they can classify this as a selfless act. You think she really wants to leave home and help poor people from of the bottom of her heart? It's not an attempt to find catharsis for herself as well as mask an abrupt exit from the scene with an altruistic gesture? I'm not saying either the former or latter are evils but come on, don't pretend like this isn't a move for herself first and foremost. I mean, go ahead and 'help' french speaking black children build homes all you want, but don't agree to contractual obligations beforehand and leave your newborn kid. As a sidenote I don't think any of the accusations about her 'abandoning her other members' makes sense because she re-signed as a separate artist and not as leader of WG anymore. Still doesn't exactly justify her situation/decision.

"The course of my life became a bit clearer so I am writing this post to tell you all. I received a lot of love as a member of the Wonder Girls during the past seven years and as I traveled domestically and internationally, I experienced amazing things that I couldn't experience before. I truly thank once again my Wonder Girls members, agency family, and more than anyone else, the Wonder Girls' fans who created these precious experiences." "After I went over to the States, I looked back on my past and I was able to take time to think deeply about the things I was curious about and the things that lay deep in my heart. Through church, I was able to spend one week doing volunteer work in Haiti and during that one week, the direction of my life totally changed. What touched my heart the most when I was in Haiti was the bible passage about the return of prodigal son." "There were two sons. The first son received praise as he worked by his father's side, but the second son left his father's side. The father waited everyday for the second son to return as he shed tears, but the first son, not realizing his father's heart, just kept going on doing his own work. If he had realized his father's pain and truly loved his father, then he should not be just doing his own work but going out to find his brother for his father. However, the first son did not do that. I felt like I was that first son." "As I saw the many people in Haiti who were dying, never being able to hear the gospel in the bible, I was so ashamed of myself who lived only focusing on my own success... So I decided to devote my life to spreading the gospel to those in this world who don't know about it." "As I got married and gave birth to a child, my heart became more and more firm, and as my husband and I start an NGO for missionary, I will start my second life. My husband and I will go to Haiti this July and decided to spend five years in Haiti. The activities I carry out as a celebrity will also be for this goal. I want to thank all the fans, company family, and the Wonder Girls' members who have understood and supported this decision, and to all those who are still upset, I will ask for your understanding as I live on diligently and sincerely. Although I'm lacking, I will do my best to always greet you with a good image. Thank you." It's not like she is going there to build houses/schools/provide food etc which I could accept even after resigning. She is going there to read a bible let's be real. I think it's pretty shitty of her.
