It's pretty interesting and talks about Psy's video and song as very subtle social commentary. Not being Korean myself, I can't know for sure how much of this article is strictly accurate or which interpretations are likely and which ones aren't, but as I said, it's a good read.
Fairly interesting article, I dont really like the "national pride thing" but I cannot blame them since I always go crazy whenever german football team has a good run in a tournament again and pride myself with it lol.
interestingly by the way: apparently there were far more cameos in the mv than people know about. The 2 old geezers in the beginning are supposed to be Seungri+Daesung and the hot ass Yoga girl is apparently Yoo In Na ( <3<3<3) only read it somewhere dont know if it's true though.

CRAYON POP and.. Sistar, Secret, T-ara (Absolute First album, lololol), 4minute, Nine Muses, Girl's Day, IU, After School, Rainbow, Wonder Girls, Miss A, BoA, Rania, Brown Eyed Girls NS Yoon-G, Younha, Hello Penis Venus, Davichi, Sunny Hill, Orange Caramel and A Pink!
Similar qualities obviously depends on who you ask, but these are all part of my playlist, among others, and should be a good starting point
They're not mentioned in any particular order though.

Didn't know IU was that popular. Almost three times what Kara has. :O
IU is crazy popular which is indeed surprising because she's solo while others are a band but I guess there's a reason she is the "Nation's little sister".
No wonder DBSK has so many saesang fans and Im surprised they double BB's fancafe members. Are those numbers DBSK Yunho+Changnim only?
some stuff to clear up the reported "6500 people leaving t-ara's fancafe" was not actually t-ara's official fan cafe, it was a fansite (read: run by random fans) called Mystic.
actual number of people leaving the QUEEN'S fancafe run by ccm is unknown; in fact people on diadem said it grew for some reason during that time period. the original article mentioned it as mystic but akp 'journalists' mistranslated it.
there have actually been a bunch of updates about t-ara members being forced out of their respective dramas as well as other reports of confirmed fabrication of stories, but as everyone's tired of that shit already I'll leave the interested to just google it.

This + Hello Venus and A Pink is pretty much a complete list.

If you like the style of 2NE1 and fx you may dig BIG BANG and NU'EST.

Hwayoungs "statement" on twitter is like the most vague shit ever.
Because you and the other guy last page severely overestimated Sistar's popularity. Maybe it's cause ya'll didn't pay attention before Loving U or some shit (I ain't gonna claim I know how much ya'll know kpop) but they're really not all that popular, they won once when no one was promoting (Suju don't count cause the only reason they lost is they didn't earn an arbitrary number of points for not performing the week before, as it was their first week back). Sistar+starship aren't really that huge. It's not cause Apink are extremely popular or anything (their popularity is rising), it's that you guys are overestimating the popularity of those groups.
Also IU is huge lol. Don't know why you(karpo) weren't expecting her top 3 at least. And WG is right where I expected them to be, even though those guys insisted they weren't top 5 when we were talking about most popular girl groups like last week or some shit.

You see way more commercials with Sistar in Korea than with A Pink (I've actually never seen one with A Pink, I think), that's why I assumed they were more popular than they are. It surprised me to be honest.
EDIT: F(x) being more popular than KARA according to that statistic also surprised me.
Dude Sistar performed Alone and Loving U for like 3 months straight? I think it's OK to assume they are bigger than A Pink...
Honestly thought some of these cafe's have only 15K~ members. It's not like it contain all their fans so I'd say the list doesn't even relate to their true popularity level.
miss A is loved as fuck aswell being with JYP there is no doubt in my mind they are more popular than A Pink no matter what some fan cafe number says.
And to the one who posted Huckleberry Finn a while back: Thanks soooo much. The album 까만 타이거 made my awesome trip to Gamescom in cologne even more enjoyable. (Since then I am searching everywhere for the other albums - if someone want to give me a hint...PM please)
Because I am on that topic - Two important impressions from GC 2012: 1) I am not a big fan of 3D movies, but Yoona looked sooo good in 3D. ^^ + Show Spoiler [K-Pop @LG booth] +
fancafe has lost a lot of popularity over the years with fans. most of them have different requirements for joining and some more often than other clean out inactive member. so with different circumstances there is no way they can be used as sole indicators of true popularity. fansites have been a lot more popular actually.
T-ara's fancafe had a huge scandal where the owner of the fancafe was stealing money from members of the fancafe or something like that. They didn't have a new one for a while. T-ara has always been really low even at their height of their first one.
Hara fell and got injured. Is this not the most angelic picture you have ever seen in kpop?
