Dunno if any of you guys have read this or seen this before -- this thread moves super-fast -- but if anyone is interested in a dissection of the Gangnam Style video, then you should read this article. It's pretty interesting and talks about Psy's video and song as very subtle social commentary. Not being Korean myself, I can't know for sure how much of this article is strictly accurate or which interpretations are likely and which ones aren't, but as I said, it's a good read.

To address your point, korean press releases are often poorly written (not even just the translation) and feature a lot of generic adjectives and hyperbole. All that tells us is that they're gonna be sexy, which was a given ofc. can't wait for more Hyosungs.

Here's some fancafe rankings for idol groups because I know we all love rankings! I don't know how accurate these numbers are and how recent they are, but from what it looks like, the scandal shafted T-ara hardcore. Surprised f(x) is top 5 though.

Also, more Hwatergate.

Yeah, wow those T-ara numbers. I've always thought they were top 5 in Korea with SNSD/2NE1/WG/KARA (no internal rankings)

Anyone have any old rankings from before the Hwatergate?

Lee Hae In is god-like. And yes, I hope CCM sits with a huge pile of money intended for T-ara which will not be funneled into Gangkiz. Mama, Honey and Super Love are awesome awesome songs. Best debut of the year (together with Crayon Pop obviously).

I just caught up to the latest episode of Reply 1997 or Answer Me 1997. Eunji so OP, but Chorong's cameo in one episode made me love her more, haha. Anyways, this was just uploaded:

Damn, she is OP. Definitely a carry when it comes to voices. Definitely recommend this drama because it reflects how kpop fans were in the 1997 era. Saesang fans and fanwars. It was crazy. The story is pretty good. Eun Jiwon plays a character who happens to look like Eun Jiwon, lol. Love it.
