Well instead of just complaining, everyone should strive to better their posts and what they bring to the community. It's not to a point where it is so big that it can't be brought back to that "golden age". Just step it up.

But there's primarily one aspect that differentiates the current state of this thread from the old times. It's that people back then were able to take criticism. People were accepting of opinions, especially ones that stray from the norm. Yeah, they'd get some shit thrown their way, but they'd brush it off no problem. Nowadays you just see a bunch of fucking butthurt kids that start crying when someone says the tiniest derogatory comment about them or their favorite idol(s). You want an example? Fucking Moonwrath starts QQin on his Twitter cause someone points out that a SNSD song sucks. Yep, #1

not about post quality, it's about how posts are viewed.
mods actually care about the content now; if you really lurked those first couple hundred pages, most of the posts were way more aggressive/antagonizing because mods didn't give a shit.
also in part because people that used to post here regularly don't do so for a variety of reasons, probably because they don't like the current userbase.

Yeah I guess, even reading that I thought it wasn't possible, but because of the 15-25 people max baseline which I had to go on to draw the comparison, I just took what you said at face value sowwy ._.
Another astute observation though--we should all learn to grow some thicker skin ^^ though I'm not going to name names or blame anybody in particular. I'm usually pretty open-minded so I don't take anything too hard really, but the same may not necessarily be said about everybody I suppose. tbf it's not that major of QQ but it definitely happens (and quite quickly) to varying degrees.

Hm this is just imho but it seems like there are more butts being hurt than there are people setting out to hurt butts in that sense.
Basically there seems to be more uncalled-for defensiveness than there is offensiveness, so to speak.
In other words I think the balance of whining and flaming non-biases (if I'm interpreting what you mean correctly) lies more on the whining side. Hope I finally was able to articulate myself well there @_@
A good portion of it is good-natured (e.g. fuck you, x is the shit), but perhaps because of the number of posters, when they all say something defending the idol or group it can fill pages rather quickly I guess?
