Given that mods frown at warnings and bans being discussed, I'll gladly accept what I have coming.
I would offer the opinion that the quoted statement to be "offensive" in its own right.
Seeing as warnings presumably carry no requirement to be explained/expound upon as bans do, this post was made on his own accord and therefore the weight of its content falls upon his shoulders. I do not willingly accept the offense for which he chose to saddle on me.


Object: Japanese people
Complement that renames/describes aforementioned object: Nips
Context: Japanese people were being referred to as Nips.

Whereas for the originating post
Object: (album) releases
Complement that renames/describes said object: Nip.
Context: Album releases originating from Nippon, in other words Nipponese album releases.

Warning asserts the latter to be in tow with the former, I have to accept that assumption from a moderator, but not from another poster. It's a bit of light libel.

Question that arises: Moderator adjusted the term to Japanese, in lieu of Nipponese, which would calls into question as to whether there would have been issue made had the term "Jap" been utilized. Both are abbreviations of their respective terms, "Jap" also considered coarse by more politically upright individuals.
Have other posts wherein "Jap" was used in context of objects originating from Japan been called into contention when the alternative "JP" exists?
