sorry i don't post much other than t-ara i didn't really want to be perceived as a t-ara only fan when it first started but nothing really gets me as excited as t-ara, they just have so much stuff ^^;~

Now before I continue I think I have to mention that I'm not hating on him at all, in fact I find his posts quite enjoyable. That said, here is what I think is the problem:
As we all know, TuElite is a fan of Nicole. A huge fan. One might say "obsessive". He demonstrates this through incredibly long and time-consuming posts and projects such as the one on the previous page, and that screencap compilation posted a yesterday/a couple days ago. Now, this is fine. No one can say that any AKP commenter puts this much effort into fanboying/girling as much as TuElite does over Nicole. I can appreciate an effort like this even though I don't share his enthusiasm for Nicole. The problem, I believe, is that some people in the thread have seen TuElite's fanboying and both the attention and reputation that he's gained for it. As such, people have started to imitate him. See posts like this:

See, TuElite's fanboying is somewhat admirable in this thread; we're all fanboys/girls, and one can appreciate the hard work that TuElite puts into his fanboyism. To reiterate so that I don't get shit flung at me for this- I don't mind fanboying at all. Although I singled out TuElite in my post I don't mind what he does, I actually think it's awesome and wish more people would put that much work into posting. All I'm saying is that posts in that nature have encouraged more straight fanboying in this thread than existed before.

That's why I talk about T-ara all the time or Moonwrath posts almost exclusively about SNSD. We obviously are using fanboy in a different sense here, so your third point is moot; using my definition there's nothing wrong with having preferences. As for people wanting to be like TuElite, maybe not everyone here does but after every postspam there's always a couple people talking about Moonwrath hopefully doing a similar sort of thing for an SNSD member (see above quoted post)
I don't fully agree with you on this being the fault of TuElite. He was here long before the thread got worse. I feel like the thread sort of is in a constant movement downhill as far as quality goes, but very very slowly. However recently (~3months) a lot of new people seemed to have entered the thread. Whether these are people that are new to TL, just found this thread or used to lurk, I don't know. But their posting standards seem to be quite a bit different from what used to be posted here. A reason for this however could be them looking up to TuElite, or something else, I don't know. "Fanboying" is something that is obviously going to happen, I'm guilty of it myself. But the way it is done is a lot different.
I don't think it's entirely his fault tbh, but he's a part of it.
Come to think of it the real change might be that round of weird warns/banning for posting images, and the mods argued about it, and ultimately Chill (I think) said that this thread would end up being an imagedump anyway, and so kind of verbally acknowledged that this thread isn't held up to the same posting standards the rest of TL is.

We knew this thread had different standards and special rules a long time before the new rule. And things were already getting worse before that rule was applied. Besides, that rule only applies to new people anyway. Everyone that was a regular already was familiar with it so don't start bringing this up again and blame it on that.

her interpretation of the song is way better than whoever this random person is (for simplicity we'll call her FU). IU starts slowly, sings with a kind of soft intensity, slowly riding the crest until it peaks at 2:45ish. I feel it's a pretty mature take on the song. FU starts off soft but she ramps it way faster and I can tell she's trying put emotion into it, but it ends up sounding really forced and fake; her thin airy voice doesn't really help her case. That said, this was on a show and wasn't the entirety of the song, so she would've had to compress the entirety into the beginning stanza and the chorus. I'd have to hear more covers but that's my initial opinion. Should do decently with training but she's nothing amazing. Also MIA is my favorite track by IU so I may be too critical on covers.
regarding the kmd going downhill it was already at the bottom of the hill before I started visiting this place (I started at the 1k page-ish). It's Korean Music Discussion, but more often since I've visited it turns into a "I like this idol group so I'll post pictures of _______ individual member." And I understand if some people want to turn this place into an imagedump. Frankly I don't mind if I have to scroll through pages of hideous Nicole dumps or people spazzing over a whale called Tiffany Hwang because some fucking weird people are fans of them.
What irks me a lot is that there's a limited scope of acutal music discussion done. Like many other portions of the internet, people take shit said here way too seriously and have extremely thin skins, and it really suffocates any "discussion." Any serious discussion/criticism about the vocal abilities of any idol or other stars are either brushed aside as "oh you must be an antifan" or "wut a trol xD." True, visuals in kpop are, to an extent, just as important as the production/vocal talent. But to hear someone say shit like:

That said, I disagree with the "this place has devolved to akp status." This place was poop to begin with, but nothing is worse than "omo omo mah unnie needs rest." How can you have a balance between two unrelated things? The way you are putting it seems to tell me you think he is less of a rabid fanboy because of his ability to post rationally. Enough discussions about how to discuss! Honestly all the other threads have one liners that are just as bad as the gif/pic spams in here. I don't see those threads getting as much attention as this thread does. At least the pics/gifs are visually pleasing if you just don't have the patience to read an essay block of text.

Even though your whole post is about the lack of actual discussion in this thread I really see little to any difference between the type of bad posts you give as examples and the one you made. Both shut down any chance of discussion. No one is claiming that she is the best singer in the world. I was personally impressed not as much as her vocal technique but just the feeling that her voice brings out onto people listening to her. After listening closely to it, she does seem to be out of breath at times like you said but that isn't a reason to belittle her performance. I really think some people before they even watch something they get ready to put it down just because other people seem to hype it so they don't even give it a chance and just try to nitpick as much as they can.

like I said, he says things differently than "NOONA SO YEPPEO HERE~", he is accepting of other bands, and his posts are usually well-worded. he still gets visibly sphincter bothered when you try and talk shit about Nicole, hence the fanboy portion.
