Yeah, I think they recently just did a few performances and a cover and they sang pretty well. Not super amazing or anything but definitely not as bad as people thought they would. Of course for the cover where they sounded well, only a few of them sang, which I assumed were the main singers. I don't know how well the other members sing yet.
Girl groups are too large, there are too many superfluous members. SNSD can cut their numbers to 5: taeyeon yoona jessica yuri seohyun
speaking of snsd lipsyncing, I remember one time when iirc, the lyrics started and they missed it for the lipsync and they had to restarted the music; the performance turned out to be so awkward.
Well the larger the group, the better chance a random person will like at least one person in the group. A fan of a member is just as good as a fan of the group. This is why Super Junior has a rediculous amount of popularity (not that they are bad). A lot of their fans like a few, some, or all the members but that gives them the most influence. It's not like having more members really hurts the average listener. Many fans like group members for their character and personality over their singing ability.
it broke my world when i saw that hyoyeon actually has fans

Hyoyeon has fans? When did this happen? What?
I don't believe you.
Anyways, I'm still quite shocked everytime I hear people cheering for her. I end up asking "Why?" all the time, and "How?" Cause I just don't get it. Far and away she is the ugliest member of the group, can't sing, and well sticks out in a bad way. Plus, I heard that she has more antis than fans. Now that made my day. =)

As for lipsynching, almost every group I know has had at least one sound problem where they mess up. It happens. The reason for lip-syncing is usually for crappy sound systems or ones that can't handle live performances.

jessica/tiffany/randoms would probably do snsd-english or some cheesy crap like that.
I can totally see them splitting into a singing sub group in the far future: Taeyeon, Sica, Sunny, Fany, and Seohyun. They would sound sooooo good regardless of what they sang. But, I hope they stay as they are now for as long as possible ^^.
Taeyeon is so awesome, especially when she was on family and she's good on we got married :D She just looks awful when she laughs, other times, she looks fantastic.
Why does seohyun have so few posts? I think she's really cute =/ They should drop hyeyeon and sunny. they are bad at singing. what is sunny even for? at least hyoyeon can dance -_- but to look like that AFTER surgery is just embarrassing.

tiffany sucks because she looked fine when she was a californian or whatever and then she got surgery, which is forgivable AND she lightened her skin somehow which is so stupid. i would have dated pre snsd tiffany
Well Hyoyeon has the least topics/posts because she becomes really shy when she's on camera. I think she is one of the funniest members in terms of pure comedy but she started off really quiet whenever she came onto variety shows. She is definitely the best dancer and helps keep the members' morale up. She's just outshined when put next to the other 8 girls in terms of looks but is quite good when she's alone.
Here's a clip of her singing:
Definitely not the best singer but not terrible. I've heard much worse singing out of the a lot of the other girl groups (So Hee and Goo Hara come to mind).

Sunny can definitely sing, just slightly inconsistent during dancing performances. And Seohyun has so few posts because she's quiet. You can't really comment on people that don't talk much. Not everything is based solely on looks. You are just too superficial.
