Now that I think about it, A Pink is basically just a much better version of SNSD. Here are SNSD and A Pink's debut songs live:
Now compare the two performances and which group performed better? A Pink. Vocally, SNSD is below average because out of nine girls, only one can sing. They also run out of breath and basically have no stamina during lives. Eunji is another tier higher than Taeyeon in singing because she controls her voice much better and Cho Rong/other lead vocalists in A Pink are also better than Jessica/Tiffany/Seohyun. SNSD sort of lucked out by debuting in 2007, which was basically the year that KPOP took off again after its first generation died off with the introduction of Big Bang, WG, KARA, and now SNSD. 'Gee' was also exactly the type of song they needed to reach the top (Almost no vocal, very catchy, basically the quintessential KPOP song). After that, anything they came out with was basically met with zero criticism because they were already known as the top girl group and had created a large enough fanbase that would dictate the public's view of them (although I do consider Genie to be their best song).
This is not supposed to be flame bait, but rather just a comment I have on SNSD and their singing in general. As this is a music discussion thread, this comment should be looked as not a "anti-snsd" post but rather an actual discussion about SNSD.
Although vocally Apink might be better, Into the New World is just a catchier song, that is what snsd is good at put out the catchiest shit they can make and their fans will be eat it up no matter what.

Kind of hard to compare.
Right. They are different eras. If a group debuts nowadays, people expect everything to be perfect. That's why groups that have succeeded in the past two years practice almost non-stop and perform seemingly flawlessly (boy groups as well). It's why A Pink is, in a technical sense, better than SNSD in all ways. It's unfair to say that you can't compare A Pink to SNSD because they're from different eras just because this current era grooms idols to be better.

Yeah I just made the post to argue the fact that in reality, SNSD is not good vocally (in comparison to other groups ofcourse).

that's not a real comparison though. You're saying SM money (hiring/buying best songs)>Apink as girls/performers. Saying someone is better because their label is better is kind of comparing apples and oranges. Troll alt does make a good point though, vocally Apink is much more well rounded than SNSD in that none of them are terrible singers (eunji's amazing). The era thing does come into play though cause I bet Apink had much more/harsher training and much more pressure to perform, what with all the competition.
Also Radioman busting out that troll MS paint
where's da KJK?
nvm the KJK came while I was typing
edit- oh nice T-ara won. CCM made some bullshit promise about them riding the subway to all their schedules if they did so, would be interesting if it were actually true. And so much worse for them...prolly cuts down on their sleeping time by 80% lol since they can't sleep in public

And in comparison to groups that has been around roughly as long as they they are quite good. If you compare them to After School, Kara, WG and T-ara suddenly they are quite good again.
Their debut stage was also far more demanding than A Pink's was so there's no wonder that they are a bit out of breath. That's probably one of the most demanding female choreo's that we'll ever see. I do agree with you that A Pink got good vocals compared to more or less every group and they do have potential, but it's just not fair comparing groups from different eras.

Personally I think T-ARA produces better songs then them and although Soyeon isn't top 3 vocals, she isn't too far behind Taeyeon if at all. They also have a few singers such as Hyomin and Eunjung that are, in my opinion, better than Tiffany/Jessica. And WG/KARA etc. just proves my point that groups that started in 2007 when KPOP was starting to rise again basically just became so popular that their performance/songs didn't matter (Although there are talented groups such as Big Bang).
I can also agree that SNSD's debut song was more demanding physically, but that's because they weren't formed made to be strong vocally so they balance it with good, tough choreography. If they were to be a strong vocal group, they would have dropped Hyoyeon/Sooyoung (and just about every other member besides Taeyeon and Seohyun).

i'd make improvements if i were to come out with a product that is modelled after a best seller.
