I'm just a bit pissed this thread is all 'love for girl groups' and 'trash boy groups' all of a sudden. Your 'um...I guess...' kind of reaction is annoying me almost as much as outright slagging them off. There's as much talent with the boys as there is with the girls. Same can be said for ballad singers and other non-pop genres like rap. In fact Korean hip hop is dominated by male artists.
I'm hating on ZE:A not because of a lack of talent or simply because they're a 'boy band' - but because whoever manages them hasn't come up with a concept that isn't completely derivative. I'm planning to give them the benefit of the doubt until they hopefully produce a reality series and show their personalities or produce some videos such as radio shows - which are where most of the real singing talent is displayed by both girl and boy groups.
and also i don't see whats the problem when you and I are both hating on Z:EA -_- i guess you can bitch about ZEA but i can't bitch about F.Cuz and ShineEEeE
ok well i don't really even frequent the kpop thread. as i mentioned i think some otehr male artists are cool too. just that the above 2 videos were kind of bad in my opinion.

I thought MBLAQ's Oh Yeah and B2ST's "Bad Girl" song sucked royally compared to Secret's I Want You Back and yet these people get double the popularity over them?
See, I have problems with groups in which a majority of their secondary members can't sing worth to save their lives unless their a designated rapper. I DESPISE idol groups who have garbage songs that do a lot better than other acts in which their overall song quality is better but "isn't as catchy."
For example Brian Joo's song "My Girl". He's got his F2TS credibility, along with a credible hip-hop duo in Surpreme Team as the featured artists (Simon Dominik definitely makes Supreme Team) and yet groups like M-Blaq and 4Minute (Hyunah) gets more attention. What the flying fuck is that shit?
And where the hell did Hwanhee and Song JiEun disappear to, after performing "Yesterday" only twice?
And out of AJ, Chunglim, and Taegoon, AJ sure is doing the best because why? Oh he's in fucking B2ST. (For the record Taegoon had better songs and I think he dances better by a bit too). Jeon Boram? Fuck that bitch, mother and dad being celebrities. Bitch can't sing worth to save her life, and she's ugly in terms of idol standards (she's the main reason why my disgust for Idol groups is so high). Meanwhile JiAe's probably doing nothing (in T-ara Eunjung's the best vocal, not SoYeon) and JiWon's kinda reduced to playing support roles in some movies.
If actual good Idol groups were promoting right now (Big Bang, DBSK, CSJH, etc.) we wouldn't be having this convo.
musume while you are at it might as well criticise everything else about korea. a primarily capitalist country with a capitalist music scene. you aren't going to see the 'idol' focus change any time soon.
I've also been having the same thoughts about KPOP lately However Younha's album 3b Growing Season is good, I hope she promotes a lot after recovering from being sick Videooooooo

If it makes you feel any better NeverGG I like Big Bang and G-Dragon solo better than most of the girl groups :D And I'm very very straight. They just have some cool MVs and G-Dragon is downright hilarious with how epic he is. Drunken Tiger is sick as hell too... Don't think they qualify as pop tho...But the luv is there!
