- When posting large quantities of media (pictures or videos), please begin spoilering after the first piece. Grouping related videos in the same spoilers & labeling is recommended.
- No reposting of old material unless justified
- Posting any material with little or no relevent discussion accompanying it
- No passion-induced flaming of each other because 'x said y sucked' etc.
- Keep the expression hate of music individuals/groups to a minimal level
- No 'pagetopping' in any form whatsoever, as it constitutes spam equal to posts similar to 'first'.
- No vulgar fan fics or wet dream stories. It is creepy, weird, and it dehumanizes the people who you are here to celebrate/discuss.
- Normal posting standards that you find throughout the rest of the site still apply and will be enforced more strictly from here forward (2012/03/11)
Due to the poor nature of this thread in the past, temporary two-day bans will occur more than often if people slip up. |

For example the beginning sounds a little too robotic for my tastes (same with the chorus). Super girl was done in both languages properly... this is subpar. (I like the song, but I listen to the mandarin version)

Cabi Song also has the triplets in freaking hot pants and midriff baring tops so it balances out.

^the point is that if he wants to feel masculine asking for kpop songs is probably the wrong way to go about it...

Are Yoona, Yuri, and Seohyun very commonly referred to as "the triplets?" At first I thought Yuri and Seohyun kind of looked similar, but now I don't see it, and I've never thought that Yoona looked like either of them.

No, they're not. He's the first one I've ever heard term it like that since they haven't looked similar in quite some time.
|
I must say, since I started listening to Kpop I have more interest in females, especially Koreans (I sort of hold them at a higher regard than Chinese females. Mainly because at my school: Koreans>Chinese in terms of looks). I have a friend through the process of watching Dream High and totally falling in love to Eun Jeung, has thoroughly convinced his parents that he is indeed not gay because of all the Eun Jeung pics he's browsing on the web.
Kpop definitely does not make you gay.

Not a phrase used in Cantonese... so I might be wrong. I can confirm that it means "Too Perfect" in Chinese. I don't know about Korean, though. Can't really say that it means "too perfect" but here is what those characters would mean in Korean if translated per Chinese character
太 - 클 태 (Meaning: Big Pronunciation: Tae) 完 - 완전할 완 (Meaning: Complete Pronunciation: Wahn) 美 - 아름다울 미 (Meaning: Beautiful Pronunciation: Me)
Now Korean people wouldn't use a word pronounced Tae-wahn-me because there is no such word. What they would get from the Chinese characters is a derivation of the meaning putting together Big, Complete, and Beautiful into a sort of logical sentence. Thus the Chinese characters would be translated into a sentence as a "Radiant (substituting for Big) Beauty which is Complete". This, if you think about it, is similar in terms of "Too Perfect".
At least I hope this made sense for those who wanted to know.

But Mazeltov is awesome. :D

I think you got 太 and 大 mixed up: 太= too or high 大=big
But your explanation still makes sense; unless with the revelation that 太 isn't "big" totally breaks it.
Hanja is so coooool.
Just curious. So Taeyeon's Tae part of her name is 太 in Hanja? 美 is part of Tiffany's name right? Making all the connections here! Taeyeon是太完美. (I'm quite aware that my Chinese grammar is quite terrible).

I don't think it's that common, but I've seen other people refer to them as triplets because people new to SNSD confuse the three of them. It happened to me too so calling them the triplets kind of stuck for me lol.

^when I first heard of SNSD I confused Yoona and Yuri, I think most people do, but I don't see the comparison to Seohyun, I think she looks pretty different, even if you're seeing them for the first time.

Gee era SNSD Yoona, Seohyun and Yuri had the really similar hairstyle in comparison to the other members. They're all the taller girls (and roughly the same height) so from far away they probably look really alike.

I couldn't tell Seohyun and Yuri apart in the Gee music video. The only one who really stood out to me then was Tiffany.
I suppose Yoona and Yuri kind of look similar in their Mr. Taxi promotions, where they're wearing the all-black clothes.
|
Never had problems with Seohyun looking like the other girls because her face looks a lot different from the others... and at least the Gee styles aren't as exactly identical as Rainbow's A was...now telling the girls apart in that was a bitch.
|
When I time travelled to find out Rainbow's A, I didn't even bother learning the members cuz that would be such a bitch; they all literally looked the same. I only know Jisook because you guys spammed 3 pages of her pics. Well I know the other by face, don't know their names though.
Seohyun does have a distinct face. Same with Yuri actually. I actually though Yuri was ugly in my early SNSD days. She's so hawt....
