Votoms is probably the most "Real Robot" of any Real Robot show I've ever watched. The universe is fairly low-tech, so that description is accurate. The mechs themselves are not flashy at all, which personally I find to be kind of a plus. The legs are almost just for show too, lol. The mechs have wheels on the bottom of their feet, and they use those wheels to move around (most of the time, so very little running ever). The head piece actually has severally different lenses on it, and it rotates the lens depending on what the pilot needs to see (like normal camera, to infrared, etc). The main character, Chirico, is a hardened soldier. So because of this, the show doesn't really have Amuro-esque Emoness coming out of him. He knows what he wants, and he does it. Hes also an elite killing machine. You will just have to watch it, he can kill almost anything. IMO the best part of the show is the second season. The first season IMO took a while to get started, but once it did, it was good. But the second season is all about jungle warfare. Real Robots+Jungle+Rambo makes for a very satisfying arc. I took a break from the show after I finished the second season, but this really is a show that I need to go back to and finish. | ||

At this point I'm sure it's just wishful thinking, but I really want to see their relationship progress. I also want to see Ryuu and Chizu get it going. | ||

WOOOOOW, Sawako wow. I can't really describe it but damn. Yea Ryu and Chizu would be interesting. 3rd season would be really nice. Its sad to see it end. I'll probably go back to mass gaming now that there isn't anything interesting until Madoka resumes. | ||

Also, I am not a fan of the art style. Overall though, it was really good. I'd definitely recommend it. 8/10 Edit: I feel like the series had a pretty deep, overarching theme/message to it. Maybe I'm just looking too far into it, though. Edit 2: + Show Spoiler [Yumekui Merry 32] + Pretty cool overall. Yumeji's classmates helping him with the chains was kinda lame though. I love it when Merry takes off her coat... | ||
