I have watched everything on your list, and if you enjoyed most of those, I recommend anything in the spoiler, of course the ones out of order are my personal preference.
thx for the list, reading through it i remembered i also watched Durarara! recently, it was awesome .

K-On! S1-2 Haruhi suzumiya S1-2-movie Clannad S1-2 Saikano 5 Centimeters per second (Movie) Summer Wars (Movie) Kannon Bakemonogatari Angel Beats!
I really enjoyed every thing, the ones i didn't like as much are probably, K-ON (there's absolutely nothing going on until the end of season 2) and Grave of the Fireflies (am i the only one thinking the boy was a fucking idiot? i think it was the only anime i didnt shed a single tear watching it.).
So, what should i go for next? You will defiantly need to discover the classics Death Note and FLCL along the way id recommend them both asap. then probably Code Geass and Elfen Lied
oh ye, i watched FLCL as well, insane animation. gotta check out the others, thanks.

I'm confused. Are you implying that you shed tears for such happy go lucky anime like Toradora and K-On? Anyways, to be helpful, if you liked 5 cm per second, try seeing Makoto Shinkai's other works: The Place Promised in Our Early Days and Voices of a Distant Star. I still can't believe "boy was a fucking idiot" qualifies as a valid complaint for Grave of the Fireflies though.
i was implying that it didnt have any emotional impact on me, other than making me mad at the boy for taking stupid actions, i know he had good intentions but still. + Show Spoiler +like, he promises he wont leave his sister alone again, but on the very next act he leaves her again and she dies, nice.
but dont get me wrong, im not saying saying it isnt good, i can see why it is. but for some reason i just couldn't get into it, maybe had a lot on my mind that day or something. i'll probably give it another go one of these days.
but anyway, thx a lot for the recommendations.

I'm still looking for Drama-type shows, folks ~
|
I think Gunslinger Girl and Honey & Clover have already been brought up. Exactly what kind of drama are you looking for?
Some other names that could be dramas: True Tears, Hanbun Tsuki ga Noboru Sora, Umineko no Naku Koro ni.
EDIT: Clarification. The first two are more romantic, though the second is bittersweet. The third is more mystery/horror, but drama is a broad concept. If you're looking for something similar to Kimi ni Todoke and Clannad, I'd have to say Honey & Clover is the best recommendation.
EDIT2: Oh I also forgot Nodame Cantabile.
|
I'm waiting for the latest imouto episode to be subbed >.<
|
I have gunslinger girl and honey and clover on my list to watch, but I wasn't really interested in either one of the two when I first started them. Drama is a loose way of saying it, but really anything is fine.

Yeah, it ends up getting pretty damn dark.
IIRC the anime only covers the first five volumes.

Leftwing, if you have IRC then I can help you out with a good install, send me a PM and we can work a time out that I can transfer it to you at.
And yeah, True Tears is a pretty decent drama.

Oreimo 13 is out. Special episode. O_O
Let's see how that works out.

Your friend is speaking the truth. That's all.
ps: i think your faggotry spamming broke something... The thread won't even show the last page for me. It's at 924. There is no next button at 924 or 925. Good job guys. You typed too much.

I don't know, I really liked it. I would urge you to see it since its a short series anyways.

I've seen True Tears. It was pretty enjoyable. Hanbun no Tsuki sounded pretty good so I'm going to go for that. Though, it's only 6episodes

OreImo just covering events of vol 5 anyway, not much gonna happen really.

I don't think it's stupid at all.
Granted, there's a bunch of blunt dick jokes that might be a turn off, but it's a great show that does an awesome job outlining a rite of passage story in just 6 episodes.
If it makes no sense, then it's probably because people look at FLCL at face value and stop there without taking a second glance at the deep things that FLCL gets into.
And the music is no joke too.
Oreimo 13 was meh. Kuroneko is cute. But that's about it.

Let's add some comments. I deleted anything I didn't see.
On March 30 2011 04:21 Leftwing wrote:+ Show Spoiler + Shakugan no Shana - ehhhhh (the movie is better imo because you waste less time)
Death Note - good, I preferred the manga
Code Geass (S1-2) - S1 is amazing, S2 was fun to watch with the internet
Seitokai-No-Ichizon - Pretty okay
Full Metal Panic (S1-Fumoffu-Second Raid) - Amazing, the third season is the crop of the cream
Shuffle! - Only worth it for episode 21 I believe, stereotypical shit otherwise
Gundam (Wing, Seed, Destiny, 00, hell any Gundam simply because it's Gundam) - Focused on pretty boys and shiny toys. Destiny is pure masochism. Wing, Seed and 00 are okay/fun but you can't take it seriously.
Full Metal Alchemist - Great overall
Ouran High School Host Club - Good comedy
Kaichou wa maid-sama - Okay-ish, got boring after a while
Darker Than Black - Looks cool, acts cool, is very flawed but pretty cool
Durarara!! - Ends with a whimper rather than a bang
Ef - A Tale Of Melodies - I need to re-analyze this one
Ef - A Tale Of Memories - Best anime of all time
Elfen Lied - Ehhh... (can't remember anything, but I believe it was good)
Kampfer - Ehhh...
Myself; Yourself - Pretty shitty
Nodame Cantabile - Pretty good
Welcome to the N.H.K. - Ends before it becomes too drawn out, which is a very good thing.

Everything is an opinion blahblah.
Btw guys, don't say animes. Do you want to say Chineses?

I TOTALLY FORGOT about hanbun no tsuki, that is a GREAT drama. The voice acting is kind of sub-par in my opinion, but the story is beautiful.
|
Hantsuki was an excellent LN series, the anime doesn't really do it justice. But yeah the voice acting is average at best

Still waiting on that Fate/Zero epilogue.

My thoughts on most of those series are the same as yours, with a few small differences. Some of them are on that list simply because in between watching something like Kanon and Ef: a tale of memories I needed something that wasn't as depressing, so I wasted a few hours watching shows like Kampfer.
Anyways I'm always looking for anime to watch, if anyone has suggestions please post them for all of us anime enthusiasts who have run out of good stuff to watch,
