I watched the first like 5min of H2o footprints in the sand and then I turned it off. It started to remind me of Da Capo and I couldn't handle going through something like that again. I'll get it on my HD for a bit though in case I find out it's actually good.

I watched Gunslinger Girl a week ago and it was slightly underwhelming. I only watched the first season, but nothing much happened to progress the characters or the story. The atmosphere wasn't too bad but the rest just felt bland. It was a bit saddening because I felt it had some potential after the first few episodes. If we compare it to another 'girls with guns' theme like Noir it just pales in comparison.

I feel like GSG really picks up past like vol 8 of the manga, which I don't think the anime comes remotely close to getting to. For a while it's mostly about girls with tragic pasts getting reincarnated into killers, but as the manga goes + Show Spoiler +Angie dies and then in the last arc I got to before raws stopped coming + Show Spoiler +Henrietta was forcibly brainwashed because her trauma memory was re-surfacing and it's caused her to freak out during combat - Joseppe gives the OK because 1) he needs her to hunt down Jacomo and 2) she doesn't remember the telescope scene from the start of the manga, "just one year ago" - implying that she's not got long either

In fact + Show Spoiler +she even saws off the shotgun she adamantly refused to saw, because "she's supposed to fight to live now."

You will defiantly need to discover the classics Death Note and FLCL along the way
id recommend them both asap.

Personally I thought it was pretty meh, humour wasn't too great and it was just weird.
If you're into extreme randomness I'd recommend it though.

I'm confused. Are you implying that you shed tears for such happy go lucky anime like Toradora and K-On?
Anyways, to be helpful, if you liked 5 cm per second, try seeing Makoto Shinkai's other works: The Place Promised in Our Early Days and Voices of a Distant Star.
I still can't believe "boy was a fucking idiot" qualifies as a valid complaint for Grave of the Fireflies though.

Good to know, I'll check it out later tonight. Anyway I'm still having problems with F/SN, I changed the settings in the control panel and now I can see what the error messages say, but I still can't play the game:

The first error says it can't find something (probably a file) related to the first day of prologue, and the second error is about not finding some sound file related to the config menu.
Someone can probably make a better translation though, but it basically means something is missing somewhere/can't be read.
