+ Show Spoiler [KnK 1-5] +I am writing this before I look at others' comments.
Well I finished 5th one. Questions still remain. Since the Spiral of Origin is a cencept in this anime, I won't question much, but something like that contains and past, present, and future right? And Shiki's Eyes are something that is connected to it.
So a colleague of Touko (who apparently was mad because her sister took the heir to family? Unreliable source, but still curious.) Araya Souken sought to enter the Spiral to give meaning to life (or something like that). So he created the apartment complex (which Touko helped design) to repeat the lives of many people, hoping to find a deviation which would somehow find the Path.
So Enjou Tomoe, who was a subject in the said experiment, deviated from the cycle by discovering his love for his family. Which supposedly (said by Touko) contributed to his demise.
Meanwhile, Shiki had two or three personalities right? I thought it was just SHIKI and Shiki but at the end of the third movie the narrator (I think that was Souken talking) said three different entities existed, but I assume this refers to Shiki, Fujino, and Fujou. So it is SHIKI and Shiki. Then SHIKI died... when? I might have to rewatch the parts -_-
Now this Cornelius dude. Apparently has a huge inferiority complex and gets used and dies? That's it? During his confrontation with Touko she said that she made a copy of herself to continue on exactly as she would do. Now I have some problem with the said proposal that it would be impossible to create a situation where a copy is not able to recognize that itself is a copy if it is a complete copy, but whatever. So she used that as bait... to gauge Souken's power?
So Fujino and Fujou were just used to draw Shiki out? To make her realize that she has a connection with the Spiral?
Now to read others' comments...
+ Show Spoiler [KnK 5 After reading comments] +I read some posts about the whole Nasuverse explanations. I was curious about Counter Force but I stopped reading when Southlight mentioned Episode 6 which I'll read after watching it.
Btw Lantham, if you want the F/SN VN OST I have it.

I really liked the last two episodes of Freezing + Show Spoiler + With that Nova in the last episode absorbing the Pandoras and then in this episode just oozing them back out to be used as Nova/Pandora enemies. I wonder if there will be a second season, though. This is going to end soon with the story just now getting good.

I think at first he tried making and selling random stuff, like planes and monsters and such but he rather quickly found out that anime girls with skimpy clothing sell the best (and at the best prices) so... yeah. Kinda funny!
As for commissions, I don't know if he technically does, but I mean obviously I can contact him :x And I dunno if he's done any commissioned work that's just not on the site.
That's a pretty interesting story. Considering how much otaku is willing to pay for an original, good painted kit, I am pretty sure your uncle does pretty well
P.S. I send you a PM.

Otakus must be fucking rich or something. All these BDs are expensive as hell. Like $83 for two episodes >.>
Also helps that they are all limited releases >.>

The rest... has to be content with digital formats, whether they be mkvs or jpegs.

I was curious about Counter Force but I stopped reading when Southlight mentioned Episode 6 which I'll read after watching it. Btw Lantham, if you want to F/SN VN OST I have it. + Show Spoiler [KnK 5] +Akasha is the origin of everything, past, present, and future, yes. Touko's sister is Aoko, who you saw in the prologue and epilogue of Tsukihime. Aoko is waaaay stronger than Touko since she's the wielder of true magic. Hence why Aoko is now heir. Touko also wanted to be designated "Blue", but Aoko took that title. This is part of why Touko gets pissed when Alba called her dirty red. I'll refrain from talking about the personalities. I can't remember when they talked about SHIKI's death, but rest assured it's in one of the movies, as unhelpful as that is. Cornelius was jealous of Touko. Not much past that. I don't really think Touko was planning on dying, lol. It just that it turned out that way because of how ridiculous Souren was. Touko's ability was to create perfect puppets. So even if the puppet's not really her, it's her. Note that the new Touko didn't show up until her head was destroyed. Basically, Souren preserved her head (IIRC she was technically "alive") on purpose so that she couldn't just move on to her next body. But Cornelius is dumb. This stuff is almost on par with the third magic though. No wonder she got Sealing Designated. Counter Force is just the will of Gaia which tries to prevent the world/humanity from being destroyed. It also prevents access to Akasha. Various methods may be employed to achieve this ranging from influencing the actions of people to natural disasters to deploying Counter Guardians (Archer, for instance, was a Counter Guardian) to kill stuff.

For Wala.

The achasic record is like The Universe and Everything Within, essentially "what people consider to be God." Souren deduces that her eyes, via their ability to see the core of creation (and thus destruction), must have something to do with the records. This is furthered by 1) her root being "nothingness" (which is inane on its own) and 2) the Ryougi linage magic. The truth behind everything is revealed in the epilogue, though. + Show Spoiler [KnK 1-5] +So a colleague of Touko (who apparently was mad because her sister took the heir to family? Unreliable source, but still curious.) Araya Souken sought to enter the Spiral to give meaning to life (or something like that). So he created the apartment complex (which Touko helped design) to repeat the lives of many people, hoping to find a deviation which would somehow find the Path. To clarify, there are three core people from the Church. Souren (a buddhist monk some centuries old), Cornelius (son of the Dean of the Church, who bears intense envy of Touko and modeled his own puppeteering after her), and Touko, one of, if not the, top puppeteer magus in the world. Touko is the twin? sister of Aoko, whom Tohno Shiki receives his glasses from at the beginning of Tsukihime. Aoko is one of the Seven Sorcerers and one of the strongest beings in the world, and prior to KnK the two of them had a duel to decide who would be the heir to the Aozaki lineage - Touko was absolutely demolished, had her familiar killed (thus leading to her interest in Shiki, mentioned in I believe 4) and ended up being called "scarred red" by a lot of people to piss her off. She didn't help Souren by designing the Apartment, Cornelius did. Cornelius got a bit of the shaft in the movies (though he wasn't that great in the books either) - he's actually one of the strongest mages in the world too. The problem is he's not puppeteer - that he's able to do THAT WELL despite it being a relatively weak subject for him is testament to his absurd genius. If you recall from 4, Touko needs to use a rune and a 15 second chant to cause a small ignition. Cornelius can speak one word (no need for runes or anything) and cause a gigantic explosion, and he can repeat this over and over again. He really should have stuck to combat/offense magic, but... that's why he dies. All told, he helps Souren because 1) they're technically friends 2) he wants to show off his puppeteering progress to Touko) and 3) he wants to beat her at puppeteering. Alas. + Show Spoiler [KnK 1-5] +So Enjou Tomoe, who was a subject in the said experiment, deviated from the cycle by discovering his love for his family. Which supposedly (said by Touko) contributed to his demise. There is a counter force existing, which you mentioned confusion about in a previous post, in which the World (ie. the Achasic Record) generates entities and momentum to prevent people from destroying the world. Somewhat important when you consider that Arcueid and Aoko (and many others) could literally blast the moon/earth to smithereens in their sleep. Because of his quest for the Record, Souren needed to take many, many precautions to try to sidestep the Counter Force. And to his chagrin, Enjou Tomoe ended up "deviating" from his plans, which should have been a sure sign that the Counter Force was in effect, but he trivialized it and didn't react accordingly. He let down his guard, and the Counter Force owned him. Enjou was just a symbol of the CF mobilizing. + Show Spoiler [KnK 1-5] +Meanwhile, Shiki had two or three personalities right? I thought it was just SHIKI and Shiki but at the end of the third movie the narrator (I think that was Souken talking) said three different entities existed, but I assume this refers to Shiki, Fujino, and Fujou. So it is SHIKI and Shiki. Then SHIKI died... when? I might have to rewatch the parts -_- You really need to watch the entire series before you should ponder this, but the whole point is that Shiki used to be two personalities, but the male, destructive one died at the end of 2, when she jumped in front of a car, leaving her with a "gaping hole" inside her. + Show Spoiler [KnK 1-5] +Now this Cornelius dude. I actually talked about Cornelius above, so let's talk about Touko. The end goal of every magus is to reach the Achasic Record. Magus don't generally exist for world domination etc, they're very much scholars. To that end, Touko, being a genius puppeteer, had a wonderful idea. If she could create clones of herself, then she'd get hundreds of times more efficient, and surely that would buy her enough time to reach the Record! Except that's not how it turned out. This is a relatively common discovery and research theory in real life, but the idea is that there are so many forces needed to reach a breakthrough, many of which are outside of your control, that in her case, having hundreds of genius puppeteers weren't going to get her to the Achasic Record. There was knowledge and talent that she couldn't harness via herself (because that's what those clones are) that prevent her from every getting past "the best puppeteer in the world." Realizing her limitations, she gave up completely and sealed all of her clones (and herself) away, in effect to "live normally" as a rogue hunted magus, one at a time. Wherever her warehouse of clones is (not revealed), there are probably hundreds of coffins, and they're set up so that only one is active at any one time, and this is measured by the activity of the brain. That's why Souren rips off her head and sticks it in the little case, and is why he remarks, "your fate is sealed" when Cornelius breaks the case. + Show Spoiler [KnK 1-5] +So Fujino and Fujou were just used to draw Shiki out? To make her realize that she has a connection with the Spiral? He had several in mind. The first is that he wanted her to establish contact with the Achasic Record. This was done by "breaking her" so that she'd want to retreat her personality, and is why he pulls in the person in chapter 6, only by that point it's a bit late, nor does it actually work the way he wanted anyways. The second was to awaken her origin, which causes the person to want to adhere to it - by awakening her origin of Nothingness, she would want to destroy and destroy and destroy and become Nothingness, which is, in his mind, akin to becoming the Record itself. His third goal was to kick her personalty and take over her body, so that when 1 and 2 are complete he'll have a body that can connect to the Achasic Record.
Did I just give Spazer a text-length beatdown? WAI I THINK I DID! :D

I'm running solely on knowledge gained from the movies/random spoiler/wiki/Southlight comments, so of course I'm at a disadvantage. D: + Show Spoiler +Though you messed up in one part. Arcueid could destroy Gaia without incurring the wrath of the Counter Force since True Ancestors are considered to be "natural" to the Earth. Blame Crimson Moon for that one.

Well, stuff Japan is just more expensive. When is the last time you spend $40 in a music CD?
On the other hand, the attention to detail you get in some Japanese DVDs are Blurays is something else. You just don't see that in the U.S. market. NISA's latest releases is the only thing that compares, and at $40 a pop, they are not your typical American DVD price.
Its all relative. My mother could probably stock groceries for a full month in Mexico for the same money I spend on lunch time in a week here in the US. Even Wal-Mart is expensive in comparison.

I was just about to post on this thread about the same thing. Then I got smart and searched TL... and, well, so many people have mentioned it that it need not be repeated.
But yeah, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 was a really great, if not tragic, anime. I just hope the same exact story isn't unfolding for anyone in Japan right now (although, with the death count going as high as it has so far, unfortunately, I'm pretty sure someone's presently living out that story).
I haven't kept up with anime too much over the past couple of years, and I can't say that those I've watched since the past couple of years have excited me. The last two series that I truly enjoyed were Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 and Eden of the East.
EDIT: Oh yes, I forgot one other series: Gintama.
I'm so glad that series is going to restart in April.
