I think you should use the time-tag, because right now I would have to guess your timezone to be there on time.

It's not pathetic at all. I'm sure similar things have happened to all of us.
Hm...no
On another note: Why characters in anime rarely act according to their age? The kid from Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket behaves like a 5 year-old even though he is supposed to be 11. The tag on AniDB is just too fitting: "painfully naive kid".
Because reality doesn't sell.
Hm, but why didn't they make him 5 years old then? It's not like it would harm the story or the characters in any way. Same for other anime which suffer from the same problem. And it's not like one could identify oneself with those characters.

That is the exact reason why I don't like Gundam 0080. Fucking kids.
Same with Kidou Senshi Gundam: Dai 08 MS Shoutai though. Kiki(the red-haired girl) is supposed to be 17 years old, yet she does the usual thing. Well, being close to the main character and looking after him is what I would consider normal. But after a short amount of time, she shouts and acts pretty immature because he doesn't notice that she is in love with him. What's the point? She could just tell him or ignore it that he has no time to pay attention to her(they are constantly on missions, after all - lack of concentration could easily kill him).
I dunno, Alfred annoyed me TONS more than Kiki did. Plus, Alfred was like the main character, while Kiki wasn't. Anyway, I don't think Kiki was really acting out of character for a teenage girl in puberty. But I agree that Alfred was acting like he was 5 years old or something.
Well, that's for sure. "Hey, that military guy is aiming his pistol at me. Cool, I so want to hold that weapon."
Girls usually complete puberty by ages 15–17...
And even apart from that, I doubt a girl in puberty would shout and act like that. At least I haven't seen it so far(in real life, I mean). btw: Regarding Gundam in general. I doubt any of it will surpass W simply because they all have "romance" in it. Gundam Wing was (pretty much) free of that which I really liked. I certainly don't have anything against romance in general, but if they include it, I would like it to be like the first Rurouni Kenshin OVA or anything...not "teenage-like". The Tsukasa-Subaru relationship in .hack//Sign was pretty good for example. I'm also the type who would prefer any Steven Seagal movie over the Hollywood made action ones. Pure action>>action+love interest/sex.

Personally, Wing is pretty far down on my list of Gundam shows that I actually like. Wing had that super akward romance between Heero and Relina, too. Wing just didn't have many interesting characters at all, and it really made the show suffer IMO. You had few people you liked, and few people you could relate with. And because of that, the events in the story had less impact that they otherwise might have.
Romance-wise, Gundam X and Turn A probably do the best with it. The relationship between Garrod and Tifa in Gundam X really helps to makes the show, for example. Zeta does alright with it as well. SEED is full of it, and while I didn't mind it, it sounds to me like you won't lol
I really like both of their voices and the characters they voiced. Really hard to decide T_T
what disturbs me though is the way, as far as I can tell from what I saw, japanese woman purposely pitch their voices higher. Especially when you see some interviews and they go like NEEEE~ ? NEEE~?
It kinda makes me think all the time " how does that womans real normal voice sound like?"

Ha ha, yeah. That's why I wrote "pretty much", same with Noin and...Zechs? But I like it that way, it's rather suble and not very forceful. Hm, I don't know...I liked most of the characters or rather, they weren't bothersome. And since they didn't harm the story, I was able to fully enjoy it. Story>characters for me, I guess...or maybe not, depends on the show? Don't think I can put myself into a single category.
I guess that will be the case. SEED will be such a pain in the ass to watch. And what's funny, the beginning of SEED and the original Gundam are pretty much the same. At least until episode 10/11(as far as I watched it).
/edit: What someone wrote about Gundam:
The thing that stands out most here are the characters, because they act like idiots, make stupid and irrational decisions and interact like no normal human would. The (romantic) relationships come out of left field, which incidentally is a tradition they`re keeping alive even today with 00. Also, most of the pretentious stuff the characters utter makes no sense whatsoever (I`m looking at you, Amuro & Char). I guess proper dialogue wasn`t important back then.
I`ll likely stir up a hornets` nest with this comment. But seriously, if your script and direction are so bad that it makes the characters look like complete fools, it doesn`t matter how important the anime is to the genre. It will still be.. umm.. below average.
The part regarding relationships certainly doesn't get my hopes up.
And I wonder why they implemented such an aspect...same with Macross and their "love polygon".

Takagaki Ayahi is probably one of the most talented voice actresses currently active... but she also tends to blend into the background because of that

Edit: Also, Miyano Mamoru!!
her performance as Mitsuba in Mitsudomoe was great

No love for Mizuki Nana?
Oh, okay, yeah I got Neil and Lyle confused for a second. Lyle x Anew is what you are thinking of, who was the Innovator. Feldt had the crush on Neil.
I swear, the whole Neil/Lyle thing was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen in a Gundam show, and I've seen this from Victory Gundam:
